How is Joe Publisher reacting to all the TV coverage on the abuse cases?

please pardon if this a repeated topic.

i have had virtually no contact with any witnesses beside my mother for the past few years.

she watches tv constantly and claims she has never seen anything on the watchtower abuse cases.

Good thread. Thanks for starting it. It's good to know and be informed how JW's are responding to this. Especially if like me- you still have JW relatives still in the cult. As some probably read about my thread in talking to JW cart people in my area- the elder was so pissed off at me giving them the news releases about WT child abuse- he grabbed the releases from his wife's hands before she could even hand them back to me- and he threw them into the trash in front of me.

I believe this WT child abuse thing is REALLY getting to these JW's, getting under their skin. I think it's important for many of us ex-JW's to keep our foot on the accelerator and keep giving access to information to these people because let's face it- they ain't gonna hear about this at meetings in the kingdom hall. We need to keep putting some REAL into their reality. Just my 2 cents. I admire what you are doing with your efforts Brokeback Watchtower. And everybody else here- keep the great work up ! these excerpts i'm sharing with you are from the july 1st, 1989 letter from the wt society to the elders and it gives outsiders a good idea of the attitude of the wt society leaders towards child abuse victims and even towards their own appointed elders.

and it shows wt society is first, foremost, and mainly concerned about financial fallout from potential lawsuits.

one short quote was used from this letter on the abc news nightline report about candace conti - but what i'm going to share with you will be other excerpts from that same letter that are just as, or even more revealing.

It's disgusting. Karen in this report will NEVER " get an apology " from the elders - the same way the WT leaders of the WT Society will NEVER apologize to the thousands of child abuse victims due to WT leaders allowing pedophiles to roam free in their organization.

As you said Defender of Truth , " Nobody in that congregation will know that they have a serial abuser sitting next to them. " And also, " The brothers and sisters in that congregation will not know they have a serial abuser working along with them in the ministry. " And THAT FACT in my opinion is one of the most dangerous tipping points of this concerning WT Society leaders ignoring the dangers that they are ALLOWING TO HAPPEN by NOT informing JW parents in congregations of WHO is a pedophile or a former or current child molester. So the liability continues to rest on the WT Society giving their robot elders directions to remain " confidential " and there continues to be NO access to information for parents to protect their children from JW molesters ! The WT Society could EASILY instruct elders to inform ALL parents with minor children about pedophiles in their midst- but WT leaders will not do that out of arrogance and $$$ - because then they'd have to expose too much of this going on in their organization. It's ridiculous. A vicious cycle of abuse not just from the abusers- but WT leaders as well

so what if we made an organized, concerted effort to contact every celebrity jw that we can think of?

Those of us who twitter ( unfortunately I don't ) should twitter our asses off to these people's twitter accounts that have been printed here. So all you Tweeters out there on this board - GO FOR IT ! Tweet away ! Let's all do what we can to expose this criminal organization

let me preface this by saying, i don't know if mr. cosby is guilty of all that he's being accused of.

the number of women coming out against him is pretty damning, but no real proof has been offered (that i'm aware of anyway).

and it is this circumstantial, hearsay evidence that can actually play into the hands of someone trying to get a jw to grasp the seriousness of the child abuse claims in the jw religion.. how so?.

UNDERCOVER- I like your idea. It's certainly worth a try as not much else seems to open JW's eyes to the realness of WT child abuse going on. It's a good way to employ Steve Hassan's methods to get Witnesses to think. Thanks for the idea- I'm going to try it next time I talk with a JW

yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.

i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.

the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

SIMON- Thank you very much for this board from the deepest recesses of my mind. Having been a born and raised in JW from birth who exited 11 years ago at age 44 - when I came on board here 8 years ago - I never imagined all the things I would learn about the unethical practices of the WT Society. Not only by reading Ray Franz, Steve Hassan's and others books about mind control cults- but by reading others journeys and experiences this board continues to not only educate me- but many other newly exiting JW's who need a soft place to land in starting life again. Thanks so much my friend for supplying this format. It's helped thousands of more people than even you are aware of. Keep up the great work. Freedom of mind for people is worth it

NEWLY ENLIGHTENED- Thanks for posting this. This speaker in the you tube was just disgusting. So was the robotic mind controlled audience for laughing . At the end the speaker says about apostates revealing child abuse, " we must resist these people with all our might. " And earlier he says, " we have our way of dealing with it " ( child abuse ) . What a freaking moron. I tell you what- the Bible was right in one scripture : " foolishness HAS been put in many high positions ". Message to this speaker : We ex-JW's will NOT shut up, we will NOT remain quiet about the criminal conduct of your crazy , insane organization and WT leaders crimes. Be prepared. We are here. We see. NEVER AJW- Very good catch there in that article from 1995. Wow. Telling elders to " be content to let the matter drop " regarding child abuse ? Wow, just wow. And this jewel, " Or perhaps the accused one will confess, and a RECONCILIATION may be achieved. What a blessing THAT would be ! " Unbelievable.

Yeah, to the WT society it would be a blessing if reconciliation happened between abusers and victims- they wouldn't get stuck paying out millions $$$ in child abuse lawsuits ! But it shows just HOW out of touch the GB and WT leaders are with reality in the real world to think a reconciliation could happen between child abuse victims and their molesters. LIFE IS TOO SHORT- " they make Susan and me look good. " And THAT is what's important to WT leaders - looking GOOD to rank & file JW's and outsiders. It's all about appearance only.
