  BONEZZ- Really great to hear from you via this thread man. I hope you're hanging in there down near Chico. I'm so sorry a couple of your friends lost their homes and everything. I'm also very sorry to hear your JW daughter still shuns you after all these years. Same with me my friend- my daughters have shunned me for 15 years now , I also have a 3 year old grandson ( my only granchild ) I'm not allowed to see or get to know. I know how much it hurts. My 2 adult JW daughters still shun me , but fortunately like yourself I have a great relationship with my EX-JW son. All we can have is hope buddy that our daughters will change someday. As long as there's life- there's hope. Good hearing from you, stay strong.

  COCO- Thanks for the links and the beautiful , albeit sad picture of the couple hugging on what used to be their home. It really brings home how terrible this fire disaster is in Paradise, only 25 to 45 air miles from us. Hang in there buddy and keep your go-bags ready. Mrs. Flipper and I have been clearing any pine needles furiously away from our house, wetting everything down, and haven't even been burning any wood stove fires indoors just to be extra safe. These disasters make us paranoid up here in the woods, but it's better to be cautious and paranoid about reality of fire danger than live in a bubble of delusion thinking it couldn't happen to us- because it can. You found out how close fires can come last year near your property. Take care friend and be safe, wear your mask, protect your lungs. Peace out, hang in there, Mr. Flipper

  As of today, 42 total fatalities just in the Camp fire in Paradise, California. More and more remains of victims are being discovered. It's the deadliest fire EVER that's been in California history as far as people dying in fires AND the most homes and businesses destroyed. Over 6,000 homes destroyed and 260 or so businesses gone. The town of Paradise is 95 % gone. On a brighter note KCRA Sacramento News fundraiser as of last night has raised $ 1, 250, 650 for the victims with over 3, 500 people with many in our collective towns and cities donating to help these families out to get necessities they need. Last I checked the fire is 30 % contained, may have gone up this morning. These poor victims lives are changed forever, and the PTSD they'll go through escaping with their lives intact, will haunt them for the rest of their lives. If you are religious- say a prayer for these victims, if you aren't religious please send positive thoughts and love on behalf of these victims. Peace out, Mr.Flipper

  TOTALLY ADD- You are so correct my friend. Fire can happen anywhere so fast. This town of Paradise burned up so fast in just about 12 to 16 hours on Thursday. People trying to escape with their lives. There was one experience of a man trying to escape who had to get out of his truck as it was catching fire and a lady he never had met was picking up strangers in her truck, she had 8 in the back of her truck and yelled to him to " get in !"

  And this lady drove him and 8 others down into the valley to Chico to safety some 25 miles away. Incredible acts of caring & bravery with people helping each other.

  Some were not so lucky though. My son sent me this video from someone he knew who posted an online video of the devastation , death, and destruction that happened at the end of a road where- believe it or not- 6 years ago my son and his wife used to live. They moved from this area 5 years ago , so they are very sad at the plight of their former neighbors. This video is graphic in showing burnt out cars, some deceased who didn't make it , so if it bothers you to watch, don't watch. However this man in the video's nephew posted this to portray the reality of the death and destruction that happened. Very sobering and makes people think of staying fire safe :

  3RDGEN - I know how much you and your husband and all the folks in Redding suffered. It's a horrific, life changing experience to go through. THanks for posting this thread. You guys take care.

  WASANELDER- As you know air miles wise Mrs. Flipper and me aren't too far from where you are- just further up the hill. Our family knew some people in this little town and area as we used to visit frequently and we've heard that one of our friends and his dad's property of 40 acres burned on the southern flank of the fire in Butte Valley, but they were able to save all their outbuildings and homes because they did aggressive fire prevention action early this summer by weed eating outlying areas all around their home and buildings. So they were able to put the fires out on the property. We are glad they are safe- however the news this morning said about 38 people are still missing and 9 confirmed dead. Fire is at 100,000 acres and 20 % contained , which is better than yesterday, but some winds are expected to kick up Sunday. Firefighters have to get as much upper hand on this flame today as they can while winds are calm.

  But oh my god- over 6,000 homes almost 300 businesses destroyed, it just breaks your heart for all these victims. Channel 3 news out of Sacramento is having a telethon for donations to the fire victims on Monday so I hope lots of people can donate to these poor folks experiencing this.

  I wish you the best Wasanelder, stay inside when you can, protect your lungs. We are about 45 to 50 air miles from you up the hill, air isn't real bad like the valley. Stay safe my friend, everybody burn a candle for these victims and everybody STAY fire safe ! This can and has happened to anybody, anywhere in California right now. Just one slip up from P.G. & E. or some idiot camper or smoker dropping a lit match will destroy towns, example in Paradise. Horrendous fire hazards right now. WE need rain in the worst way.   ELDER ETTA - Dude, get a life and stop blaming these young child abuse victims for this pig molesting them. Nobody was " out to get you " because you were an " elder" . In the totality of the real world scene- you are giving FAR too much importance that you were an elder and that " young women were waiting " to bring " trumped " ( weird you use the word trump ) up charges against you.

  Most child abuse victims over 90 % of them are NOT making up stories. They were actually victims of sexual rape. Believe me, child abuse victims are far more vulnerable than you'll EVER be. Get over yourself. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  Simple answer : Because the governing body & WT Society leaders do not recognize the laws of the land as having authority over them. They only allow themselves to follow the Bible's 2 witness rule, even though this endangers children. And within that simple answer is that the financial empire the WT Society wishes to protect to keep them financially solvent. Money first, children's welfare way down low on the list of priorities.

  In regards to the WT Society's leaders life being made easier by cooperating with authorities in reporting child abuse ? Uh, not really. It would expose them more fully in the wide open light as a criminal organization hiding all of these sexual predators of children and bring MORE attention in the media to WT Society cover ups - just like the media exposed Warren Jeffs and the Mormon's and also how the media exposed the Catholic church even more. Catholic church is still being exposed with all the pedophile priests molesting minor children.

  I think WT leaders are intentionally trying to stay on the down low- and they think this will make their life easier . If all the child abuse was fully exposed- we'd see an absolute shit storm of media coverage . I wish that would happen, but WT keeps trying to sidestep and hide in the shadows. We need more Leah Remini's out there exposing these crimes of the WT Society. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

  Really looking forward to Leah Remini & Mike Rinder coming back with their activism in exposing these cults JW's & Scientology. Very well done program and I'm sure the Jehovah's Witnesses 2 hour program will be done the same with detail, professionalism, and great interviews with Lloyd, Cliff, or whomever else is on there. The main thing is - Jehovah's Witnesses and the WT Society are being exposed for criminal behavior and abuses to their members. Whomever the EX-JW is exposing it doesn't matter ( unless it's Rick Fearon, you don't want him on there - god forbid ) - but most of the other EX-JW's on there would do a great job of exposing this evil cult.
