I hope so! I get so tired of the devils advocate stance! If we wanted a devil's advocate, we'd still be in the stupid JW religion. We really don't need to hear it. At least I speak for myself! Peace to you all, including Wanderer.Mr. Flipper

Is Your Family Crazy?
by choosing life ini have been trying to reconnect with my fleshly family for over a year now, since i left the jws.
for some reason, i find it extremely difficult.
i don't find them to be very giving or caring people.

Choosing Life, Mr. Flipper here. I read your situation and can totally empathize! I was raised in the witnesses and have an older brother ex-bethelite elder who since I faded will not even have me in his and wifes house. Same with my ex gilead graduate older sister. I have another older sister who went through hell with an exwitness husband, and she seems to be the more loving towards me. And my parents accept me, however when you talked about family taking sides, my ex wife a witness has turned my 20 and 19 year old daughters against me with slander and false rumors, all in the name of Jehovah. My ex-witness son and non-witness wife are close to me but the others I told you of avoid me. It's been 4 years for me and I just try to be civil and polite to my girls. It is ironic the witnesses think we"ll go crazy if we leave the org. but they act more crazy staying in it! Try to hang in there and find someone in your family who will be civil to you. Remember , the religion has done this to them, try not to take it personal, they are sick puppies, mentally, they need help, but don't know it. Just be kind, maybe some day they"ll see your good example. Peace to you my friend, Mr. Flipper

Spirituality without Faith- Is It Possible?
by nvrgnbk inspirituality without faith.
what would it mean to naturalize spirituality?
how can naturalism inspire spiritual experience and provide us with a satisfying cognitive context within which to address our ultimate concerns?

Nvr- Mrs. Flipper said to say that all this cerebral stuff is gonna make her simple mind explode and force her into the living room to watch three Stooges reruns with a bottle of Ripple and a bag of Cheetos! Peace out, Mr. & Mrs. Flipper

Nvr- Mrs. Flipper and I have a real spiritual connection every time we go camping in the forest. We enjoy wild life, nature, the stars, moon, and of course each other! It's a very spiritual experience as we take in the moment in the here and now when going through it. It causes you to enjoy lifes simple pleasures which enrich our existence. I truly feel you can have that anytime, faith or not. Spirituality and emotion is combined, don't need faith for that

Our son's JW wife.....
by lavendar inwas wondering something: if after all the prodding and urging from our jw daughter-in-law to convert our son (her husband).....what if he decides not to get baptized into the borg?
will our dil catch some "heat" because of this?.
lavendar .

flipper
Lavendar- Mr. Flipper here. I tend to agree with those that have told you that your daughter in law will be treated with sympathy because of your son not joining the witnesses. Some in the congregation, especially elders, if he has shown interest in the past, will continue to try and patronize him with the hope that one day he will join the church. It's called a gradual winning over of his trust till he believes the elders aren't just being nice because of what they want him to do, but they will act like they sincerely care about him. Which some may care, however know that the elders main motive is to get him saved from destruction by eventually getting him in the church. Good luck, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
