Wife and I watched the final show- it was good . Too bad the " cult compound " boss ladies husband got killed - but I'm curious - any ideas on who the new guy is in the show that came to the compound and said " Hello Rick " ? To Rick ? He could sure fight good when he helped save the other two guys earlier in the show. Is he a former sheriff friend of Rick's I guess ? Any opinions ? I guess we'll just have to keep watching " WT Society Night of the Living Dead GB Members 2.0 " for awhile. LOL -

Why attack?
by newqatarjob inas someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.

MAD IRISHMAN- If you took some time to do research if only about the WT Society child abuse scandals and their criminal policies towards victims- you would understand the " hate " some of us have towards this organization and it's policy makers WT leaders. Of course there is no love lost between some of us and the WT Society, I mean- come on- we've been shunned, kicked out of our families, children molested and receiving no justice, and disfellowshipped people committing suicide due to being cut off by WT Society instructed religious crazy zealots ! Open your eyes. What we feel towards the WT Society is RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION - not hatred. We " hate " the evil policies. Does that clear things up for you ? There's a big difference in how you CLAIM we are- as opposed to what we as ex-JW's REALLY do -

Yeah, I think this is a desperate PR move to not only APPEAR ( remember everything's about appearance to WT leaders ) to be trying to retrieve the " lost sheep " but it gives the illusion to active JW's that the GB really cares about the inactive ones.
On a more realistic note as some mention on this thread- GB knows lots of JW's ARE exiting so they want to stem the tide by coming out with a re-hashed information brochure to desperately try to prevent inactive ones from exiting . WT leaders are having a hard time dealing with the PR of Candace Conti's comments that ex-JW's are considered " walking dead " - so they have to do something here to give the impression they are " concerned " about exiting JW's. My 2 cents

I agree with Marina ( IOWNMYLIFE ) a lot of these JW's cannot stand the fact that many of us ex-JW's or inactive JW's who left have the moral fortitude to stand up for what they believe in and actually leave the organization to attain freedom of mind. It's like these JW's MAY have doubts within- but they don't have the moral character or commitment to carry OUT those doubts into exiting the organization- so they lash out at us who HAVE left out of envy, spite, or just jealousy that we had the courage to stay true to our beliefs that the WT Society is false and we followed through.
Because even if these folks ( JW's ) are shown about the injustices of the WT Society- they will remain in it for family - yet within themselves TO themselves they are not being true as they don't believe in it. So they'll remain not totally committed to anything really - just spending their lives deluding themselves that they are morally of good, complete character. Kind of how I see it . Peace out, mr. Frustrating conversation with relative
by lukejmedic inback storymy cousin, who i was pretty close to growing up, was dfd several years ago while i was still drinking the kool-aid.
i contacted her shortly after i woke up and left the borg.
we have been having great non-religious conversations on and off for a while.

Good thread. Your cousin is STILL very much mind controlled and even though she was DFed- she never really got over being mind controlled. She's just trying to make you feel guilty for not going back to the WT organization. She's insecure, you are not- you are stable. Don't let it get to you- I have some JW relatives still in and even though I've been inactive 11 years- I'm treated like I'm DFed. I've made plenty of friends moving forward. Doesn't bother me like it used to. As Pink Floyd says, " I've become " Comfortably Numb " -

The Secret is out....but nobody cares
by MrTheocratic ini've been looking on this site for some time but never posted.
i'll give a little about myself, but not too much.
i'm a ex-bethelite ( brooklyn )and currently serving as an elder (10 years) (thinking about stepping down) on the service committee.

MR. THEOCRATIC- Welcome to the board indeed ! Nice to have you here. I don't think it's a black or white issue- either this or that- I think there are a lot of variables involved. My wife and I live in a small mountain community out west in California - and among young people 35 and under it's considered a small liberal hippy town - but among people 40 and older it's quite conservative many times.
It seems to imitate that reality inside the JW organization up here as well. When talking to JW's in my area who are over 40 to 45 years old most of them seem to be VERY strongly indoctrinated or defensive over the WT child abuse scandals ( see my thread where one long time 65 year old elder threw my WT child abuse news release into the trash in front of me yelling at me ) - but the younger JW's 30 and under seem to just follow the organization out of habit when I've talked to them when they're out in service. Just kind of out there counting time, spending more break time at Starbucks, appear to not really realize or know their religion very well or it's history- but just staying in for family because it's tradition that's been carried down through their genetic line - so being brain dead by WT mind control they just follow it to keep JW associations with relatives.
However there are SOME young people I've talked to who have left the organization after being abused either sexually, physically beaten , or cut off, ostracized, and because they've had to SUFFER some injustice they have walked away or RAN away from this abusive organization. They are the ones who will wake up. If many of the JW's are experiencing the " Stepford family syndrome " where everything just sails along smoothly- there will be no need for them to leave their comfort zone as you state. I truly believe it takes suffering some form of adversity, injustice, shunning to jolt some of these people out of their malaise - or if they SEE someone very close to them experiencing injustice, suffering, or adversity.
That's why this WT child abuse scandal getting on PBS news hour and the ABC news Nightline show and these WT child abuse printouts are so handy to have in our cars with us. Showing these to long indoctrinated JW's may just in fact shake them, even if a little bit, from the malaise and boredom or apathy they seem to have to get them to realize more is happening on this big planet of ours outside of the kingdom halls and their " Stepford families ". Personally- I'm one who likes to shake the trees a little bit to see what kind of fruit will fall out. If you get my drift. Nice having you here, appreciate your observations

I have a feeling his guy is long gone from this thread, with his fingers in his ears singing la-la-la-la-la.....
Nothing "nice" about his passive aggressive drivel, really.
Maybe just trying to reinforce his denial and superstition, and trying to get brownie points with Jehovah.

DUBSTEPPED- For those of us who have moved on from the JW mentality- it's not a case of not having moved on from the " victim mode " - many of us HAVE involved ourselves in many positive activities- it's a case of many of us feel we need to HELP others who need to see the WT Society exposed for the child abuse crimes, exposed for deaths from no blood transfusions, and exposed for creating dissension, division, and suicides due to the shunning that is encouraged. And that involves exposing negative behavior. It doesn't mean we haven't moved on from it personally- just want to unselfishly help and assist others to move on and see these crimes for what they are ! Better in my opinion to do that than just wash your hands of the whole thing without assisting others -

Were you or someone you know sexually molested by a Jehovah's Witness ?
by flipper indue to the fact there are about 27,000 members of this religion that are known pedophiles, and the information about it is kept in a secret database file, i wonder how many lurking jw's as well as others are aware of the severity of this problem?
remember, it's 27,000 pedophiles that they know about.
what about the thousands that don't get caught?

By the way- here's another thread of experiences of countless people- perhaps hundreds of JW's or ex-JW's who relate here on page after page of personal child abuse they or loved ones suffered at the hands of child molesters within the Jehovah's Witness organization. Some relate experiences of people they knew, some about their own children, some about themselves. Feel free to share any of these crimes committed within the JW organization as it may further enlighten people and newer members as to WHY some of us carry vitriol towards this criminal organization called the WT Society. Access to information is everything -

According to Oct.1st 2012 WT Directions- Past Child Molesters CAN Be Appointed Elders
by flipper inconsidering the fact that the wt society refuses to release in courts any of it's written directions to elders through confidential letters to elder bodies- i thought i'd do the courts and wt society a "favor " by posting excerpts from this oct 1st.
2012 letter from the wt society to all bodies of elders.
these instructions are very exposing of the negligence of wt authorities in how they view the seriousness of felony child abuse.

Since some newer members may have been elders in the past- then I'm sure they may - or may not- be aware of this October 1st, 2012 confidential direction by the WT Society to the elders ( no rank & file JW's know about this letter ) to give elders the O.K. to appoint pedophiles and past child molesters to positions of elder or ministerial servant if enough time goes by. So if any newbies may wonder why we have anger towards the WT Society or feel we need to expose the unjust WT Society actions- READ this thread and this letter from WT to elders in 2012- and you might start understanding our position. Peace and love to all, Mr. Flipper
