As a matter of fact- yes - many times I have given $5 or $10 to homeless people I've met at stores, in parking lots, etc. Whether they're women, children or men. Or just a homeless guitarist playing on the sidewalk. And yes, I'm one of " those " who gave a suggestion to do that.

Most JW's are so oblivious to ANY person's needs who are outside their JW organization. The only way they feel they can " help " a so-called " worldly " person is to preach at them and get them to join into the JW cult so these people can be controlled and miserable like themselves. Realistically these JW's are invading this homeless man's personal space. I mean for the love of Christ, give this guy some space so he can sleep in peace ! Or if the J-dubs insist on standing so close to his sleeping quarters, slip him a $ 10 bill into his jacket. They should at least do SOMETHING to show they aren't the insensitive louts we've all come to realize that they are. Or show some respect for the man's space and move somewhere else to do their proselytizing ! Peace out, Mr. Flipper

i think every congregation has their group that sees everything as a sign that they are god’s chosen people.

if a witness didn’t go to a meeting and a storm came and destroyed their house and killed them, and only the kingdom hall was saved, that was a sign that we should be in jehovah’s house.

if russia persecuted jws , it’s proof we are living in the last days.

as a witness, when you thought about jesus christ, what was the first thing that came to your mind?.

Even as a young child or teenager being raised up from birth as a Jehovah's Witness - I never could wrap my mind around THIS question : What sane or normal father ( God ) would ever put his own son ( Jesus ) to death and let him suffer ? And for what ? Millions of human beings are going to be " saved " or " redeemed " by this ? Ridiculous. So in a way as a JW kid, I felt sorry for Jesus having a father who would do that to him.

Like the words in the song Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles, " Eleanor Rigby, died in the church and was buried along with her name. Nobody came. Father McKenzie, wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave. NO ONE was saved. "

Basically I have the same view. Religion is used to give people false, illusionary

Anyone in the Greenville/Spartanburg SC area?

looking for ones in my area.

been mentally out for years and finally im free and looking for friends because as most of you know the only family and friends i had were witnesses and now wont talk to me.

also lost out on relationships with my ""worldly"" family because you know.... that was bad.

Hello Nikki, I commented on your other thread about helping our relatives. Just wanted to invite you to the 12th annual South Lake Tahoe apostafest we have each year of ex-JW's who support one another. I realize you are in South Carolina and probably can't get away July 12th to 14th, but we have about 40 to 50 people who show up every year with experiences of JW family shunning them as well. So it's a laid back , cool atmosphere. The details are on my thread on the front page of active topics right now about the 12th annual Tahoe gathering . Feel free to check it out ! i did not have any connection to jw's when they published this, about two weeks before i graduated from high school.

i'm now on medicare and collecting social security.

so much for their ability to see into the future.

JEFF T- Thanks for posting. I'll be 60 years old soon before the year is over, and I was born and raised in the JW cult. I was also told ( like many of you here ) that I'd never get married or have children in " this old system of things " .

But in the immortal words of Jim Nabors from the old 1960's Gomer Pyle show, " Surprise, surprise ! " I'm on my 3rd marriage, and my adult children are in their 30's ! lol.

The sick, sick irresponsibility that the WT Society has shown by deceiving millions of JW's into thinking they'll live forever is criminal and disgusting in my opinion. My older parents died thinking thinking they'll be back. But nobody, including a corrupt organization and it's leaders claiming to be the only channel to " God " - has a right to dupe people like that. It's cruel, dishonest, not to mention insane.

In my research of ancestors online, the same thing they all have in common for hundreds of years ? They all have a date of death , Nobody here gets out alive ( Jim Morrison stated ) and he was right !

So if you are a lurking JW reading this - PLEASE - wake up and smell the coffee. Smell, taste, think, and start believing in reality, and move on in your life to freedom of mind and go live your life successfully. You are being hindered from doing so, because you only have access to one world view- JWism. And the leaders of the WT Society are yanking your chain being dishonest. Please free yourself and come back to the real life and reality. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Thanks for posting. I heard this same crap 45 years ago in 1974 right before the non eventful year of 1975 came and passed with no Armageddon. I was a teenager then and was told I wouldn't get married or have children in " this system of things " . Now I'm almost 60 with adult children and grandchildren.

Time goes on, nothing changes. Just the players. And these JW players are just being indoctrinated through fear and WT leaders play on those fears and phobia's - keeping rank & file JW's scared to death, quite literally. It's a cruel, evil way to control people.

But for 140 years now since 1879 WT Society and it's leaders have fostered fear, terror, manipulation, and control of millions of JW's to keep power, control, and financial purse strings of JW's tightly under their supervision. It's disgusting. Any JW's reading this, wake up and smell the coffee man. Go and live your life, don't waste it anymore.

I've lived my life with freedom of mind since I was 43 or 44 now, and listen, the big bad dream is not true. You don't turn into bird food when you leave the Jehovah's Witness organization. Life gets better. Don't believe the lie you're being told as they tell you that - to keep control over you. Here's to freedom of mind. Peace out, Mr. Flipper
