Well, yes I enjoy our country and the freedoms that we do have. But don't enjoy this particular president trying to control and turn our country into a totalitarian regime through his racist, narcissistic , and unjust rules. But I'm hopeful that will soon be rectified in a couple years , or even sooner. The sooner, the better. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Reddit Post: Watchtower Appeals to Supreme Court
by APieceOfShitNamedTate infrom john redwood.... a preview of upcoming news:.
jehovah's witnesses are appealing to the supreme court of the united states, but this time it has nothing to do with preaching or saluting the flag.. it's all about child abuse.. specifically, the protection (or cover-up) of information, documents, and testimony of persons involved in cases of child abuse.. i will be covering this story in the coming weeks and months, but i thought i would share some of this news and try to distill it down as simply as i can.. i'd like to point out first that watchower has appealed to the supreme court in connection with their loss of yet another california child abuse case.
the chance that watchtower's appeal being will be heard by the supreme court is slim, but anything is possible.. what brought this about?.

Thanks for the update and information. The leaders of the WT Society are just as evil and criminally liable as the leaders of the Catholic church, Scientology, Mormons, or any other religion or cult who puts money, power, and control as more important than the safety and welfare of child abuse victims. It's sick, sick shit. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

It took lots of courage for this lady to do this. I admire her ! Of course she got the typical " in denial " response from the elders trying to corner her like a trapped deer. But some of those JW's in that audience won't forget what she said and will be inspired to do research on the internet now. And that's a good thing. Some may bolt to freedom !
And the JW lady on Reddit's experience leaving due to this WT study ? Bravo ! Well done ! Thanks for posting this thread. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

With all the talk about the WT Society's latest WT study on child abuse- thought I'd respond to folks on this thread and bump this thread up about what's currently happening in California. The bill to eliminate clergy penitent privilege in California regarding child abuse is currently on " hold " while members of the Sacramento legislature try to formulate another bill that will cover all the bases so the Catholic church and their lobbyists in the ears of politicians , won't be able to squelch it. Until religions stop donating millions $$$ into the pockets of politicians, it's always going to be next to impossible to divide religion from politics. On to your statements :
DAYS of FUTURE PASSED- Yeah, it's incredible how the Catholic church is so full of misinformation , and their followers just deluge protests to eliminating clergy penitent privilege out of devotion to some ancient custom that is not only outdated, but horribly dangerous for child abuse victims. And yes, WT Society has used these excuses for years " have to keep these abuses private " . And now after finally having a WT article discussed at their own meetings in the WT study- wouldn't you know that the WT Society paints a false illusionary picture to it's own JW members about how they handle child abuse ! Unfortunately no big surprise here. WT leaders are always trying to pull the wool over even it's own JW people.
SMIDDY 3- Good point about the WT Society NOT being able to claim clergy penitent privilege because elders on JC committees share all this child abuse information immediately with the Bethel legal department once they receive the information of child abuse situations. The only reason the Catholic church is seeming to get a " golden ticket " here though is because of the huge , powerful money from them influencing political decision. Whether clergy penitent privilege has been a " long standing practice" or " custom " for years certainly doesn't make it right or safe for children who are thrown to the clergy wolves who are these pedophile priests themselves in many instances. And you're right JW elders or even priests cannot be trusted to keep this information to themselves. Humans are humans- they talk. Indeed, not realistic for any child abuse victim to give their personal stories and lives over to these priests or elders and think that the victims best interests will be served. What will be served is the best interest of the Catholic church or WT Society of Jehovah's Witnesses.
XANTHIPPE- Indeed, I'm glad that the bill is only on pause as well. It may seem odd that the JW religion is benefitting from the Catholic church's stand on this- but you know- I put ALL of these religions in the same category. Each religious organization will do what's financially expedient for that particular religious organization. Doesn't matter which religion it is. Money talks. So do the leaders at the top of each of these religions .
JW GONE BAD- You have a good idea to stand up to those elders and say " don't share anything I say with anybody " . One problem though-elders lie. They'll tell whomever they damn well please, all they care about is performing WT functions and being " obedient " to the WT leaders. Perhaps best to just let sleeping dogs lay still. And that's how I view most elders, as sleeping dogs. Until they get awakened by WT Society leaders- then they become WT biting dogs devouring people in the congregations. Scary really. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Rejecting JW Message is More Important than Success to Keep Them Indoctrinated
by OnTheWayOut inthe recruiting work of jehovah's witnesses has never been very effective.
such low positive results for such great efforts.
but the members are paying the gas money and expending the hours, so watchtower is not really losing out.i want you to think about the rejection jw's receive, be it a negative response at the door or people ignoring them at the cart.

Thanks for posting this my friend. Very truly put. JW's constantly revel in sharing stories of how they were rejected out in service so it justifies their false concept that they're being " persecuted " for an imaginary " good cause " . They feel if Jesus got persecuted, so should they, and somehow that implants the thought in their mind that " if it's good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for them " . lol.
What they fail to realize is that much of the negative publicity JW's and the WT Society gets- is true and justified. It's how they try to explain away suffering negative media attention to the horrid child abuse policies within their cult.
Years ago I had a former friend in 2007 ask me why I didn't go back to meetings ? I told him one of the reasons was the awful child abuse policies and the hiding and covering it over with out of court settlements. Then he said, " Well Flipper, you know the news and media are always trying to persecute us for anything. It's an attack from Satan to damage the organization. " I asked him, " What about news of child abuse in the Mormon's ? The Baptists religion ? Catholics ? Is the news media trying to unfairly attack them as well " ? He didn't answer, just made an excuse that it's different. I told him, " it's not different at all. " I explained to him that Witnesses have a persecution complex. I think the conversation ended shortly thereafter. But you get the idea.
Take care bud. Great thread. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Did being raised a Jehovah's Witnesses result in psychological damage? An interesting read in the New York Times.
by Balaamsass2 ininteresting read in the new york times book review.
food for thought on a subject 3rd gen and i have discussed between ourselves and with our daughter.
in our case, the answer is yes.

BALAAMSASS- Excellent article ! Thanks for posting.I was in it from birth, exited 16 years ago , and it takes enormous effort through re-educating oneself to build back up our self esteem as human beings. I think many of us, including myself will be working on getting our real selves back for the rest of our lives.
One thing that really helped me after I left was not using the JW language and lingo like refusing to say " the truth ", or " brothers & sisters " , or " the friends " or " light gets brighter " - any of that stuff mentally puts those images back in our heads. Thus the extreme importance of newly exiting JW's to STOP attending meetings as soon as possible. So these phrases won't trigger our former cult mentality as much.
Because physiologically the brain neurotransmitters are used to being hit with these common JW images, and once those images aren't engaged anymore, and replaced with other ideas and research or hobbies like researching ancestry, golfing, shopping, studying secular history, anything informative and interesting, it can help.
It still takes time, but it can engage our minds in a different direction. Thanks for sharing this my friend, we are all working on it, especially if we were in it from birth. Take care, Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Is there such a thing as true religion?
by Half banana in“it is the only religion which doesn’t go to war.
we have friends in every country on earth and we all think alike---we have the true understanding of the bible.
we are the true religion which god approves………..” says the jw.. to put jws in the context of the question of true religion, we first have to get an insight into how a jw thinks and these points above are the selected criteria chosen by jws to judge themselves.

California lawmakers have put on hold a bill that would require members of the clergy to break the seal of confession if they learn of child sexual abuse. Pretty sad. The bill is just on " pause " , it has not been withdrawn according to Senator Jerry Hill who wrote the proposal. There is a lot of fight coming from the Catholic church on this, so it's still a battle being fought for the protection of child abuse victims. The bill will be resubmitted with more added details to cover all the bases regarding child abuse.
Here is the link that was in the July 10th version of the Sacramento Bee newspaper today with a quote from Kameron Torres an ex-Jehovah's Witness :

What natural phenomena or catastrophic event would wake JWs?
by I believe in overlapping inmy dad was talking to an elder who was trying to convince him the wt is the only organization god is using to save mankind..
so my dad asked him; “would you still believe if there was a nuclear war and it destroyed 50-75 percent of the earth’s inhabitants including all the watchtower’s main offices?
elder said; “that will never happen, that can never happen, because the bible tells us the steps of armageddon.

Aside from being abducted by aliens, taken to another planet, and anally probed- I don't think anything will work very much to wake up JWs. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

May 2019 Watchtower doubles down on the "Two Witness Rule" !
by stuckinarut2 inthis is simply disturbing and infuriating!.
the may 2019 wt has defiantly and arrogantly been released by the gb, and it is full of their disgusting excuses for not complying with authorities!.
(i have seen and read all the articles, but cant work out how to upload a link here - perhaps someone can assist?).

" Do elders comply with reporting to secular authorities...... about child abuse? "
WT articles answer " Yes ".
Bullshit. No they don't. They allow the victim and family of the victim to report to the authorities if they want to. WT Society demands elders to report FIRST and FOREMOST to WT legal department of any instances of child abuse, not report to secular authorities.
This entire article looks as if the GB and WT Society are trying to cover their own ass to their own JW members just to squelch any doubts or concerns about WT child abuse policies. And of course, like WT leaders do about most everything - they lie through their teeth to control their JW members. Peace out, Mr. Flipper
