I'm confused, what is your stand on this ? Was the "insert opinion here" regading me or the Rabbi?
As far as I can tell, the 144,000 are Jews that accept Jesus. I guess that they will accept him eventually.
i am sorry about posting a large picture here.
but i've tried to do post it lots of time with smaller separate pictures and jwd kepps giving me an error!.
let's hope that this works.

Yah , insert opinion here , blah blah yadda yadda ..............
That's the point isn't it? That to have undeniable proof of anything would force us to believe. God doesn't want a gabble of drones - he wants us to come to him of our own free will.
Of course it's only my opinion. Blah Blah Blah.

It is not possible to prove. But the whole Passover Haggadah makes much more sense when viewed in this light
This is not simply something that Messianic Jews do, it is done by Jews everywhere.
The Afikomen is a substitute for the Sacrificial Lamb, which since the destruction of the Jewish Temple in 70 AD, has not been performed due to not having a proper place to carry out the sacrifice. Many sources suggest that it evolved from an earlier usage of a broken piece of unleavened bread.
Even before Jesus' time, it was considered likely that the Messiah would arrive at Passover - hence much of the Passover meal is Messianic.
Just found this on the web. From an "Ask The Rabbi" section of a site:
Rabbi's Message
I was recently asked what was the origin and purpose of the afikomen, the piece of matzah that is the last thing we consume at the Passover Seder meal.
This a fabulous question because the answer is truly shrouded in centuries of mystery. While we must only speculate as to the true origin of the afikomen...
Some rabbis and scholars see a connection in afikomen to the Greek word for dessert, epikoros, hence this would support the fact that this is the last thing eaten. However, the linguistic similarity is actually not that strong. Without going to much in detail, it is probably more likely the word is connected to the word afikomos, which in Greek means some type of visitation by an angel or divine being. This would then be connected to the tradition of the first Passover meal in Egypt where the sacrificial blood on the doorpost protected the Jewish people from the angel of death (see Exodus 12:22 or De Mille's Ten Commandments).
Can't find much more than that at the moment. I guess it's going to be a question of faith.

As in many of the “feasts of Israel”, Jesus was symbolically and prophetically present IN them.
I believe that it was at this point in the Passover meal that Jesus took the bread (the returned Afikomen) and declared (explained) “This is My body which is given for you, this do in remembrance of Me”. [Luke 22:19 MKJV]
It wasn’t just any piece of bread that he used, it was the Afikomen (meaning “That which is to come”). He was explaining that section of the Passover meal to them.
Why are there three Matzot?
The three matzot represent the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Why is the matzah broken?
To represent Jesus’ death.
Why is the Afikomen wrapped in a white cloth?
Because Jesus was wrapped in a white burial shroud.
Why is the Afikomen hidden?
Because Jesus was hidden away in the tomb following his crucifixion. The pillow symbolises the boulder use to seal the tomb.
Why is the Afikomen brought back and shared at the end of the meal?
Because the Spirit of the risen Jesus is distributed to all who ask.
Wishful thinking or perfect symbolic prophecy? Discuss

Lies,Lies!
MakingGeneralizations
Name-Calling
PlayingontheEmotions
SlogansandSymbols
An obvious example is the symbol of the Watchtower.
Another is the constant use of the slogan "true Christians..."
Lies = the alteration of what 1914 meant
Can anyone provide a scan of this article (page 3 - 12) please ?
I would like to have a huge list of examples that I can use with this article.
True Christians would respond to this thread.
Awake! 2000 June 22 The Manipulation of Information
The Manipulation of Information
The cunning propagandist loves such shortcuts—especially those that short-circuit rational thought. Propaganda encourages this by agitating the emotions, by exploiting insecurities, by capitalizing on the ambiguity of language, and by bending rules of logic . As history bears out, such tactics can prove all too effective.
Lies, Lies!
Certainly, the handiest trick of the propagandist is the use of outright lies .
Making Generalizations
Another very successful tactic of propaganda is generalization. Generalizations tend to obscure important facts about the real issues in question, and they are frequently used to demean entire groups of people. "Gypsies [or immigrants] are thieves" is, for instance, a phrase frequently heard in some European countries. But is that true?
Name-Calling
Some people insult those who disagree with them by questioning character or motives instead of focusing on the facts. Name-calling slaps a negative, easy-to-remember label onto a person, a group, or an idea. The name-caller hopes that the label will stick. If people reject the person or the idea on the basis of the negative label instead of weighing the evidence for themselves, the name-caller's strategy has worked.
Playing on the Emotions
Even though feelings might be irrelevant when it comes to factual claims or the logic of an argument, they play a crucial role in persuasion. Emotional appeals are fabricated by practiced publicists, who play on feelings as skillfully as a virtuoso plays the piano.
For example, fear is an emotion that can becloud judgment. And, as in the case of envy, fear can be played upon.
Hatred is a strong emotion exploited by propagandists. Loaded language is particularly effective in triggering it. There seems to be a nearly endless supply of nasty words that promote and exploit hatred toward particular racial, ethnic, or religious groups.
Some propagandists play on pride. Often we can spot appeals to pride by looking for such key phrases as: "Any intelligent person knows that . . ." or, "A person with your education can't help but see that . . ." A reverse appeal to pride plays on our fear of seeming stupid. Professionals in persuasion are well aware of that.
Slogans and Symbols
Slogans are vague statements that are typically used to express positions or goals. Because of their vagueness, they are easy to agree with.
For example, in times of national crisis or conflict, demagogues may use such slogans as "My country, right or wrong," "Fatherland, Religion, Family," or "Freedom or Death."
But do most people carefully analyze the real issues involved in the crisis or conflict? Or do they just accept what they are told?
In writing about World War I, Winston Churchill observed: "Only a signal is needed to transform these multitudes of peaceful peasants and workmen into the mighty hosts which will tear each other to pieces." He further observed that when told what to do, most people responded unthinkingly.
The propagandist also has a very wide range of symbols and signs with which to convey his message—a 21-gun salvo, a military salute, a flag. Love of parents can also be exploited. Thus, such symbolisms as the fatherland, the mother country, or the mother church are valuable tools in the hands of the shrewd persuader.

i experimenting with posting a message, desparately trying to get the formatting correct and it struck me that we can tell little stories with the collection of smilies.. .
with a little imagination, this could be "bread + wine = the lamb (jesus)".
this is a lot more desirable than "pizza + vodka martini leads to a sheep" !!!!!!!!.
