we've been to the district convention and heard some statistics: 6.5 million publishers, 1.3 billion hours in 2006, 28.5 million copies of the wt.
this supposedly proves that the witnesses are the real followers of christ.
As far as other organisations go, I think that I saw a post refering to the growth of Starbucks vs Watchtower.
It might also be worth checking out McDonalds's website for some statistics.
That might fly in the face of the WT argument that growth shows God's blessing !
i have made some of the talks available from the follow the christ dc.
i had some problems on day 1 with reception, so i was only able to get one talk and day 3 we were late getting there.
also, i didn't include the drama as there is another thread on that hopefully some will be able to provide transcripts like live life did with the education talk to promote discussion of the material (again, thanks live life).

i've got a jw meeting with me every week.
she's been coming for 4 months.
i don't want to give up on her.
I just presented some material that she had never seen before and she explained it away saying they no longer follow some of the teachings of the founders.
A good thing to say would be that you are examining the teachings that were taught when "Jesus inspected them and approved them in 1919" !
So, it would be good and fair to examine exactly what Jesus saw in 1919.
When you get to the depeer into the "BIble Teach" book, it will say that Jesus is Michael the archangel (excellent to debate as it is full of flaws), and it will also say that "Baptism is NOT to an organisation"... then ask her what the two questions are that JWs have to answer at the baptismal pool.
The second is "Do you understand that your Baptism identifies you as one of Jehovah's Witness in association with his Spirit Directed Organisation" !!!
I hope that some of that helps.

it seems you have to be of the "popular crowd" on this forum to express feelings and views.
as i am not of this crowd, i have recently recieved alot of not so friendly comments and p.m.s from people who seem to think they need to put me in my place.
it is funny how some people can express their views and opinions and everyone still loves them.
I too am sorry for you going.
I don't remember reading anything of that nature.
I've always felt that this place has a "more the merrier" attitude, sure some people pounce on the person rather than the comment but a good night's sleep seems to help get over that.
Tommorow is another day.
