  i was told that i have an earthly hope.

  i won't eat from the loaf or drink from the cup, so i won't.

  I agree that in isolation is says nothing except what it says.

  If you have a desire to commemorate the death of Jesus for whatever it means to you, then you should be partaking.

  I have spoken with the Commission and they are interested in the aspect of witholding medical treatment for children.

  I mentioned the issue of Awake that glorifies those children that have died and they said that they were interested in seeing it.

  It would be good if we could collate on this thread as many quotes as we can that are related to the public benefit/detriment issues of the document.

  I'm happy to scan anything I have and post it here.

  They are also happy to accept e-mails with PDF attachments of Watchtower literature.

  The consultation closes at the end of June this year. If you would like a response, you are asked to indicate this on your letter.

  EXTREME Watchtower Articles... any suggestions ?

  i'm looking to put together a collection of scanned watchtower / awake articles and extracts of other watchtower publications to show non-jws (and maybe even some current jws) that highlight the control issues of the society.. .

  i am thinking along the lines of the famous 1996 article with the caption "do you wisely destroy apostate material ?

  i will obviously upload the collection when it is complete.. .

  How about the Watchtower article that "left out" the second half of "Article 4" of the United Nations which would have "exposed" what the Watchtower Society didn't want JW's to see?

  Do you have any idea of the reference for that article ?

  The issue you mentioned about "wisely destroying apostate" material is listed there as being from the 3/15/1986 issue. It also asks the probing question: Why is reading apostate publications similar to reading pornographic literature?

  Thanks for that. I must have mistyped.

  Good suggestions so far - thanks all.

  I'll probably scan the articles separately and upload them rather than making a single PDF of them all, that way people can download what they like.

  there are so many aspects to the sweet jw lifestyle that i find laughable, but one of the most infuriating/embarassing/hysterically funny is the many "glorious and rich illustrations" created for our precious publications.

  how many sundays did i sit and bite my finger when a congregation of 70 people would pick apart a badly painted scene of ancient israel and make endless comments about every banal detail?

  each trying to "learn" a more special aspect to the sandal a priest is wearing or a censor of incense and its greater significance.
