  today is a proud day for me.

  i became part of my fellow citizens in this country by casting my vote.

  it was a thrilling experience (more like a disney ride really, since the line wasn't that long).

  I've been around since the late forties. In those days, we didn't have the info about the org. as we have today. Had you been living in those days (much different than today} they PREACHED that the end was near, it was commonly accepted. The date 1975 date NEVER caught my inner feelings and thoughts about the end. I base my understanding in what the scripture saying,
  "...no man man knows the day and hour". I believe in what the scriptures say that there is going to be a resurrection of BOTH the righteous and UNRIGHTEOUS. God or Jehovah ( say what you say about him may being cruel, but to what end and to whom? What makes US so much righteous than others?   the united states likes to portray itself as the bastion of freedom and champion of democracy, but if this were really true then there would be at least 6 or 8 different parties to choose from at election time, and given that it is now a country of over 300 million people a choice of at least 10 different parties would be more appropriate, but instead there are just two.

  recently, i had made an effort to start coming back to meetings after being inactive for 2+ years.

  during that time, i did have a prescription drug problem following an injury.

  Like you, the elders didn't think I was repentant. To me, this was the best thing that could have happened. Who the hell are they to read my heart condition? Anyways, they did me a great favor, I NEVER returned to any meetings from that moment on.
