The Rainforest`s are often described as the lungs of the Earth , if we keep destroying these RF without replenishing them in some way , we will eventually kill ourselves off .It may still be a long off , way in the future , however , it is an eventuallty that will occur unless we take drastic action to forestall it .

I watched an old movie yesterday ( nothing better to do ) Randolph Scot playing Bat Masterson as a new marshal in a western town called Liberty.
One of his first rules for the town was that everybody had to hand in their firearms while in the town and they could get them back when they left the town.
Sounds like a good principle to me , however it needs modifying for the present day.
Every man woman and child needs to hand in their firearms while residing in the USA , and when and if they leave the USA they can get there firearms back .
My 2 cents worth from down under , where we , as yet do not have your problem of so many mass shootings.

i actually almost got attacked by a rottweiler once.

Humans can communicate with any and everybody in the world today ,almost, with modern technology .
Apparently the Almighty Jehovah God hasn`t caught up with modern technology that he can`t accomplish that himself.,
He sends out imperfect humans , using outdated , outmoded , medieval means ( walking ) to deliver an urgent life saving message that is 2000 years old that only reaches
about 30% - 50% of the Earths population ,with a result over these past 140 or so years of having approx. 8 million members out of approx.8 Billion people .
I wouldn`t want Jehovah God as a C.E.O. of any Company I owned .

half of our congregation goes there to work out because of the good pool facilities and prices, and the other half think that it's wrong due to it's old charter.
but no one is enforcing the wrong or right of it.
i'd be interested in knowing how this is being applied worldwide.
Another example of the R& F , Elders ,speaking out of both sides of there mouth , when over the years they get mixed , ambiguous messages from the G.B. as to weather you can be a member or not , if it`s part time / full time etc, with different Elders in different parts of the country or even the world don`t have the same viewpoint .

If you are just going to become a Catholic because the girl you love is a R.C. and you do not really believe in it , is that being honest with yourself ? or honest with your future wife ? Is that a good basis for marriage.?
It`s a fallacy to think that only religion , no matter which one , instills good morals .Think Islam and its extremism ,think Catholics and Protestants in Ireland , and you could go on and on , and on .over the Centuries ,
It is also a fallacy to think that Atheists / Agnostics do not have good morals .
Morals are not dependant on religion of one belief or another .that is a fallacy.
Proof of that is the different morality of all the major religions of the world today.
If your future wife insists she will only marry you if you become a Catholic , what does that say about her , and her love for you , and if you agree to her demands , what does that say about you.

The ARC put a suggestion to G.J. about joining a communal ? fund to compensate the victims of the many institutions investigated by the ARC . Geoffrey Jackson was non committal about that , saying they would have to look at that. (meaning their lawyers )
Jehovah`s Witnesses have always wanted to distance themselves from Christendoms religions especially , and "worldly" organizations .
However their was an exception to that a few years ago, supporting another Christian religion in a court case ? was`nt there? , about charging for magazines ? or something ?

If your going to make a decision whether to join a religion or not on what other peoples experiences are , then I pity you.
If you are happy to jump from the frying pan into the fire , then by all means go for it .
If you are not intellectually lazy , I would advise you stick around this site and learn a lot more about religion and it`s consequences both pro and con. Using the search option can be quite informative.
By the way , I see you are a newcomer here ,and I apologize if I have offended you in anyway .

The working with children checks that we have in Australia should not apply only to Elders & ministerial Servants who go from D2D in the ministry , it should also apply to one and all , male and female , young and old that engage in the D2D ministry , that every Jehovah`s Witness is expected to do .
Historical events around the world has shown that male and females as well as youths , have demonstrated they are capable of committing child abuse, sexual and physical .
In this world we live in today no stranger should have the freedom to knock on anybody`s door , when it`s possible for children for one reason or another to be left unsupervised for any length of time.

i have been looking into this issue that (many/most/all/etc) ufos are caused by demons as seems to be said by jws.
some time ago when i browsed this site i read a posting where someone recommended a book titled "the dark gods" by roberts and gilbertson (here is a link to the book at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dark-gods-anthony-roberts/dp/009138771x).. besides that one there are a couple of other books that i have checked (one of these is "operation trojan horse" by john keel and the other one is "a guide to the paranormal" by magnus raven).
both of these say the same thing although they approach this issue from different directions.. looking at the amazon reviews for "the dark gods" it looks like it also says the same thing but the book is out of print.
