There are plenty of sub surface lakes and rivers all over the world that are fresh water , shouldn`t they be salt water ? if the flood was real ?

for those that believe in the flood story as genesis says, then they also are forced to accept a huge amount of evolution, way faster than any evolutionist would propose.. from a basic selection of "kinds", to the several millions of land species there are now, and in only about 4000 years.. not to mention the many types of birds that made it to remote islands, and then somehow lost their ability to fly... not even possessing wings( ex- dodo bird, moa).
scientists agree this was a process that took eons of time.. i was thinking of this because we just had a public talk on noah.
i sure couldn't make a fool of myself on that subject, going on how "factual" it all is..

does anyone know if the jws have very printed a picture of, what might be considered, a nativity scene in any of their literature?
i think it would funny to create a christmas card using their own artwork!
haha!

Thank you for sharing those Vids , I was always curious about the Photo drama of Creation , sometimes the society has made reference to it but always in a sanitized version , instead of being proud of there early history and acknowledging there mistakes like any normal organization , they are embarrassed and want to hide it.
Silent Night and Oh Night Divine ,Classic , great find. Not to mention celebrating Christmas .

i see some members , who have been on this board for many ,many years , who very seldom posted a topic for discussion..i would like to encourage everyone in this situation to re-think there reasons for not starting a subject for discussion.. sometimes after the event , i have thought to myself why did you start that topic ,stupid, however on reading the replies to that said topic , i have learnt a helluva lot more in having done so .in other words i learn a great deal more from the feedback i get from you guys than the question or statement i post.. you might think your question or statement is irrelevant , however to somebody else on this board it may just be the thing they are looking for to help them get through some issue of there own .. so please don`t hold back from posting a subject dear to your heart , or anywhere else .. just saying .

In the early days on this board I was self conscious about what I posted ? there are far more better educated people here than I am . I left school when i was 14 years old , and I was a little bit intimidated at first. coming on this board.
But then I thought , nobody knows who I am anyway , so If I do make a goose of myself , nobody will know it was me .
I have actually started a thread that nobody , not one person commented upon., did I let that stop me from pressing on ? No but it could have ,
So , could I just say here , your thoughts , your contributions , to this site can help so many people whether already members or lurkers or whatever , you may never know what help encouragement your input will be , does it matter ? if someone benefits by it ?
Please don`t hold back

You could use the illustration , with the caption , " Merry Christmas ,The Solution To Paradise Lost To Paradise Regained "
And send it to as many JW`s you can think of.

my congregation had four elders who had different personalities.you would see a little friction among themselves.. #1 self-righteous and the 800 pound gorilla.he would push everyone around in the congregation and even some fellow elders.. # 2 elder was around 80 years old and looked like he stuck around a little too long.it looked like he was around because he never decided to give up the position.his duty became very light as he aged.. # 3 elder was in his early 30's and newly elected.he made no waves and whatever was asked of him in the congregation he would do.easy to push around like a little puppy dog.. #4 elder (who everyone liked ) was easy to get along with and had a family who everyone loved.
he didn't like elder # 1. they had a power struggle amongst each other which everyone observed while the meetings were in session.. here are 2 small verbal fights that i observed while the congregation meetings were in session:.
while elder # 1 was giving a talk ( heavy rain storms are brewing outside with loud thunder and lightning ) the microphones and lights are knocked out.we lost all power and could barely see.
Actually that is a good point Simon , I have been in a couple of congregations where clans existed .Family dominated , father and son , Son in law ,all Elders in the one congregation , what power they existed in the congregation .That was in S.E.Qld.
In my first congregation an influential family had there eldest son as presiding overseer as they were called in those days and his younger brother was his assistant 2IC if you will. , this was in Vict. Aust.
As a side note : 2 IC`s wife played the piano at our wedding in a KH ,, she later committed suicide when 2IC was convicted of pornography .
Very sad.

An Elder , also a friend at the time was a regular in ,giving talks at our circuit assembly`s till one day the other Elders in that circuit thought he was getting a bit up himself , and that he needed to be brought down a peg or two so what did they do ? They didn`t assign him any more talks on circuit assembly`s anymore , and you could see he was visibly upset by that.
I have seen power politics rear its ugly head a number of times in congregations and I still didn`t wake up . now banging my head against the computer desk .thud , thud , thud ,

continued from part 1 (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5097191899136000/john-1-1-colossians-1-16-all-other-things):.
the nw translation and some of its unique renderings, like john 1.1- "a god," and colossians 1.16 - "all other things," have been consistently at the top of the most debated topics here in this forum and elsewhere from the beginning.
the anger felt by detractors of the nwt rendering of john 1.1 (a god) has diminished considerably if compared to the furious debates surrounding the verse that raged on during the 1950 thru 1970s.
To put it in a nutshell ,Jehovah has failed miserably in not being able to preserve accurately his own words that have come down to us through the ages in the form of the Bible.
He does not sound like an almighty God to me.

i don`t know if this has been addressed before , however it appears there is an inconsistency and a big one at that with the practice of shunning with jw`s.
elders / ministerial servants look out for the spiritual health of the congregation , and if they see something they feel is detrimental to the spiritual health of the congregation they are going to act to rectify it, .
they take appropiate action where they think is necessary .

.However , are they following the example of the GOD JEHOVAH , whom they profess to worship ?
After Adam and Eve failed there test of obedience , JEHOVAH ,virtually shunned them , having no direct contact with them or there offspring for evermore. He dealt with people by means of Prophets etc.
However , the instigator of Adam and Eves disobedience , Satan the Devil , still had the ability to talk one on one with JEHOVAH GOD for centuries later, as described in the book of JOB. And apparently he could still continue to do so up until he was finally outed from Heaven in 1919 or thereabouts ,According to JW beliefs
Another question arises here , Why have humans suffered so much and Satan the Devil not suffered anything anywhere near what we have gone through , yet he was the instigator , the source of all this problem .?
Reviewing all of the above , JEHOVAH GOD , did not shun SATAN the DEVIL until , according to scripture , he tolerated him up in heaven until 1919 when he was ousted according to the G,B, of Jehovah`s Witnesses.,
That`s approximately 6000 years that JEHOVAH GOD tolerated Satan the Devil without shunning him.
