  How far will they go?

  i've been drawing back lately and looking at the big picture going on in the org, somewhat like slimboyfat has also been doing, but i am wondering about different possibilities.

  so the current gb has modernized recently in various ways.

  they have done a strong and sudden about-face regarding the electronic world, from viewing the whole thing suspiciously and condemning bros. use tablets from the platform to suddenly embracing them and causing the r&f to do so to such a degree that old ones are spending hundreds of dollars to buy devices that they have no clue how to use; they have heavily embraced this media for their message, very much like the churches have been doing for years, especially with their jw broadcasting and their caleb and sophia animations.

  If they are truly in decline or stagnating as far as membership growth goes in western /Christian lands as been suggested on this board , then I think as indicated by these new attitudes from the G.B. they will indeed need to relax more restrictions on dress and grooming in the R&F., to attract more of the younger generation , why else would they be bringing more modern music , dance into K.H.`s which were once a definite no/no .

  They need more bums on seats who will contribute much more needed cash to remain viable.

  The old timers are dying off with there conservative attitudes , it`s the younger generation with a more liberal view that is the future for religious growth.

  In years gone by they could afford to be more controlling of the young , but not nowadays with the widespread use of the internet they need to loosen the reigns if they want to appeal to the young , which they must do because the young are the key to their future existence.

  And I think we are already seeing the beginnings of that trend.

  Thank you all for putting up those clips , David Bowie was introduced to me by my young son who had a fascination for him and KISS , being a good obedient JW I soon banned KISS but tolerated Bowie.Offhand I think this must have been in the 70`s , my young son is now 48 .LOL

  And yes possum " Ground Control " is also one of my favourites too.

  the christian bible / cannon is different , depending on what religion you profess ,around the world.. russian orthodox ,greek orthodox ,christian gnostics ,roman catholics , polish national catholics ,c.of e , etc,etc,.

  the very many christian bible translations that exist today differ according to different interpretations of the translators.. the jewish translators of the hebrew scriptures add a whole new concept to the traditional interpretation by christian translators of the old testament... throw in the mix all of the fundamentalist religions that have sprung up these past couple of centuries including the j.w.`s , s.d.a.`s , mormons , t.v.

  evangelists , etc, etc,.

  I think I know where you are coming from

  , I don`t dismiss some force in the universe , even some spiritual aspect at work , however I do not accept an all knowing all powerful GOD who is controlling all things here on earth ,blessing this person or that person for such mundane things , when children are dying of starvation in so many lands.Just to name one thing.

  There are many more .

  And of course if such a being GOD even existed why so silent for so long,

  And please don`t give me that crap about having " Faith."

  Jehovah`s Witnesses have put there faith in the WTB&TS for well over 100 years and NOTHING they have ever predicted has come true , and still the faithful believe in them

  How sad is that .

  And that is only showing a glimpse of Christianity`s Religions ,

  without mentioning the thousands of non Christian Religions that exist in the world today , all claiming a direct channel to GOD. Which number in the billions of people .

  My point is this :

  This has been going on for thousands and thousands of years , and there has been no GOD or HIGHER POWER that has ever tried or even attempted to set the matter straight as to what is the true Religion he/she wants people to follow , nothing , zilch.

  The only explanation religious people give is "FAITH" , you must have faith , nothing concrete or solid evidence , certainly no word from GOD , yet he was supposed to communicate audibly with prophets thousands of years ago , but apparently we are too educated for a GOD to converse with us with all the technology we have available today.. maybe we will see behind the curtain .?

  i intend for this to be one of a series of bite-sized ops on the evidence for evolution.. introduction to dna genes are sequences of dna made up of words (codons) each of which are three letters (bases) long.

  there are only four letters in the genetic alphabet (acg&t) each word or codon is the recipe for one amino acid.

  there are 20 different amino acids in living organisms.

  There is just so much wrong , JW`s / standards that they used to insist upon in those video`s especially the footloose one .It`s obviously taken in a KH. that would never have happened in my time in the Borg. 1960-1993 .

  Denim jeans was not an Appropiate attire for a male in a K.H. let alone a female., and males wearing hats inside a place of worship ? Sacrelidge , let alone the cat calling out as the song progressed .

  C.T. Russell would not just be turning over in his grave , he would be doing cartwheels in his grave.

  The Jw Special Convention Concert is worthy of a fundamentalist revival meeting.complete with worldly songs..

  I honestly wonder how the real old timers who spent the best part of there lives supporting this religion and expecting the end to come any day now , umpteen years ago ,,view this new trend of worldliness taking over the more conservative side of the religion they were so used to.
