  No more reporting time for field service!!!

  so at last i am in my next step of my fade, this month is the first month i did not turned in any hours.

  i received a text from our group leader an ms & i told him i didn't have any to report, then of course it got bumped up to the elder & i text him back i have no hours to report for december.

  i came to this decision when reading many posters here about the yearbook stats, i do not want & refused to contribute to this organization "boosting" numbers for their glorious purposes, after the rc in australia they do not deserve for me to give them a "production" report of what i do for god, no more.

  Remember this important fact :

  "The only power they have over you is the power you give them"

  They have NO power OR authority over you unless YOU give it to them

  Do not fall into that trap.

  It is as you said your worship to God is between you and him alone nobody else , when they try to badger you say , It`s between me and my God and nobody else , thank you for your concern , and say nothing else to them , do not engage in conversation as they will try to trap you in your words.

  When G.Jackson was brought before the A.R.C. he said words to the effect ," if all states in Australia had mandatory reporting laws , we would not have this problem of 1006 cases of child abuse not being reported to the authorities by Elders of Jehovah`s Witnesses " Which by the way means 3,018 Elders that did not report it , that is to say 3 on a judicial committee times 1006 =3018 .

  So G.Jackson was effectively blaming the Australian Government for their not reporting Child sexual abuse in there midst.

  So he was in effect trying to pass the buck onto the Australian Government.

  The mind boggles

  having recently read orwells 1984, i was impressed with how he understood that both politicians and people abuse language.

  this further confirmed to me how the w.t had deceived me by using words to distort reality.

  the book 1984, also contains many other great thoughts of george orwell.. of course there have been many other great thinkers, buddah, darwin, freud, einstein and marx come to mind.

  You stole my thunder , I was about to post how I am so appreciative of all the people on this board who post , many of which are great thinkers whose knowledge and intellect is something I admire .

  I only have a basic education , and I stand in awe of some of the in-depth discussions about all manner of topics that are discussed here .Some of which are way over my head .LOL

  My education has been enhanced by the great thinkers on this board , and at times I can still be a dickhead , because I`m forever learning .

  there is a footnote on page 138 of this book; it has to do with the number 2,520 being a perfect number and the result of multiplying the four perfect numbers in sequence.

  i have done the math and it works.

  The Watctower writers / G.B. members / Presidents , were infatuated with numbers as were the Bible writers .

  Times and dates , figure predominately in W.T. writings ever since C.T.Russell used measurements of the Pyramid in his predictions.

  As pointed out by V.I, the numbers 7, 10 , 12 , 144,000 , all pointed to completeness of one sort or another , then Google how many times the number 40 is mentioned in the Bible .

  Numbers / numerology , certainly did play a big part in Watchtower theology .

  New anti-spam measures

  we've been bombarded by spam a number of times in the last few weeks and last night was the worst yet.

  i already built some tools to make removing it easier because i think the longer it stays up, the more it encourages it, but still it's annoying to see and interferes with the operation of the site.

  fortunately, we were able to catch and remove it relatively quickly.. i've now implemented and deployed some additional protection measures which i hope will better detect and block it from appearing in the first place.

  Its the first time I have ever noticed a spam problem Simon that I can remember , and I have been here about 9 years , so you must be doing something right .

  I must admit it did give me a scare , was it my pc infected ? or were you the target .

  A lot of "forbidden" talk is going on among witnesses

  me and my wife are still "in".

  we had the "talk" a couple of times, but shet is not ready to leave yet.

  while a couple of years ago she started crying on the thought that i am an "apostate" and even gave me an ultimatum until she would rat me out to the elders (never happened), now i sense that she might is a little bit more open to the the thought to leave one day .... anyway, all out friends and family are still in the truth and whenever we are meeting with other witnesses topic #1 is always the recent changes to the meetings / conventions (reduced to one day) which always lead to the changes to the magazines and the recent lay offs of the special pioneers and bethelites.

  The Jehovah`s Witness religion , just like so many other Fundamentalist religions will just fade into the background , no they won`t disappear off the planet , however they will become very insignificant as a minor religion, and be just one of the many.

  Some examples : The Assembly Of God , Christian Scientists , Christadelphians , Exclusive Brethren , etc.

  i've been drawing back lately and looking at the big picture going on in the org, somewhat like slimboyfat has also been doing, but i am wondering about different possibilities.

  so the current gb has modernized recently in various ways.

  they have done a strong and sudden about-face regarding the electronic world, from viewing the whole thing suspiciously and condemning bros. use tablets from the platform to suddenly embracing them and causing the r&f to do so to such a degree that old ones are spending hundreds of dollars to buy devices that they have no clue how to use; they have heavily embraced this media for their message, very much like the churches have been doing for years, especially with their jw broadcasting and their caleb and sophia animations.

  If they are truly in decline or stagnating as far as membership growth goes in western /Christian lands as been suggested on this board , then I think as indicated by these new attitudes from the G.B. they will indeed need to relax more restrictions on dress and grooming in the R&F., to attract more of the younger generation , why else would they be bringing more modern music , dance into K.H.`s which were once a definite no/no .

  They need more bums on seats who will contribute much more needed cash to remain viable.

  The old timers are dying off with there conservative attitudes , it`s the younger generation with a more liberal view that is the future for religious growth.

  In years gone by they could afford to be more controlling of the young , but not nowadays with the widespread use of the internet they need to loosen the reigns if they want to appeal to the young , which they must do because the young are the key to their future existence.

  And I think we are already seeing the beginnings of that trend.

  Thank you all for putting up those clips , David Bowie was introduced to me by my young son who had a fascination for him and KISS , being a good obedient JW I soon banned KISS but tolerated Bowie.Offhand I think this must have been in the 70`s , my young son is now 48 .LOL

  And yes possum " Ground Control " is also one of my favourites too.
