Differences Between Ex-JWs
by David_Jay inwe are not all the same--a real "duh, david!
so i figured if i didn't feel that sense of solidarity that seems missing among the debating, then i was part of the problem.
i'm responsible for making this place feel like a support and place of solidarity, just as much as anyone else.. but approaches i tried didn't work until i shut up for a while.

When I was "in" I appreciated the fact , that all those in a congregation , and I was in many congregations, were only congregated together because of one factor , and that is they supposedly had one belief that bound them together, worshipping Jehovah God.
I often thought their is no way on Gods earth these diverse people would associate together if it wasn`t for the truth.
Coupled with the culture of only mixing with brothers and sisters religiously and socially to the exclusion of all others ( worldly people ) did bring people together that would not normally associate with each other because of class distinctions , education , financial ,top end of town / bottom end of town type situation .
So once a person leaves the JW`s these differences still remain , and because their is no longer the " bond" to belong to the religion our "caste" / "class" distinctions manifest themselves again.
By the way I was a convert , not happy where my life was going when I was 19 and was looking for answers to life`s questions , why are we here , what`s it all about Alfie...... I was vulnerable.

Matthew 24 :14 VS Christ Jesus 100 + year Reign / Christendoms 2000+ year reign
by smiddy init has been over 100 years since jesus christ was enthroned as king in the heavens in 1914 according to jehovah`s witnesses with the task of preaching "this good news of the kingdom" in all the inhabited earth .for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.. it`s been over 2000 years since this task was given to jesus disciples , who evolved into christendom over the centuries with many sects that abound today.. neither have succeeded in carrying out this task to completion and christendom has had far longer an opportunity to do so.
however jehovah`s witnesses claim they are the true religion with gods approval .. so you would expect a better achievement .
jesus christ has used up more than 100 years of his rule with no major accomplishments , it does not look like he is going to achieve any better than what christendom did in 2000 years.in fact by all accounts he is going to be far worse.. jehovah`s witnesses as a minority sect are becoming more irrelevant as each year passes.. even their "witnessing" has been dumb`d down so much that it is an embarrassment to observe in the field.. in the 60`s and 70`s their was an urgency to get this message across to people , today ?

2000 year anniversary of Jesus death , ? I had not thought of that , good point .
For all the Jehovah`s Witnesses , " Here we go around the mulberry bush , the mulberry bush , the mulberry bush ,here we go around the mulberry bush ," again and again , and again.

by NVR2L8 intoday my wife showed me the new medical directive and power of attorney form she got at the meeting.
surprisingly she asked if i wanted to fill mine!
i have been inactive for 6 years and i don't go close to any jw gatherings because i don't want friends who only care for me unless i share their beliefs.

Why is accepting blood fractions a conscience matter ? For Jehovah`s Witnesses ?
Blood fractions only exist because of blood donated by worldly people ( Jews , Catholics, Protestants , Atheists ,etc.. all non JW`s ) ,that is then processed in a laboratory to make up the different fractions .
That Blood is not poured out on the ground as the scriptures command , but is stored , also a violation then broken down into fractions and used in medical procedures , all in violation of the scripture ," blood is to be poured out on the ground".not to be used for anything.
The double standards Jehovah`s Witnesses go to to rationalize their beliefs is unbelievable , even funny , if not for the seriousness of the consequences.

What is the official stance on shunning family that "faded"?
by Wild_Thing indoes anybody have any quotes from watchtower literature or video that shows what their stance is on associating with family who have left the witnesses?
or even what the unofficial stance is?.
not disfellowshipped or officially disassociated, just "inactive" for say 15-20 years, but also openly living a "worldly" life birthdays, holidays, including attending another church?

Jehovah`s Witnesses / the Governing Body / F&DS class /Writing Dept. whatever , all speak out of both sides of their mouth .
Just a casual look at what they say in print over the years , what they state in JW.ORG .and especially the Australian Royal Commission into Institutions of Child Sexual Abuse .
It all changes with the blow of the wind . or the waves of the sea.
Their beliefs are like a cork in the ocean blowing this way or that way depending on the wind.
What the GB said yesterday is not what the GB says today , and what they will say tomorrow is not what they are saying today.
As I said at the opening of this post , they speak out of both sides of their mouth to cover all bases .
It is difficult to pin them down on one issue because they have multiple answers to fall back on.
with the excuse that was old light .

Has Robert Ciranko replaced Don Adams as president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania ?
by EdenOne inrobert ciranko has been a "helper" of the governing body in the writing department.. don adams (born 1925, presumably 91 years old now) has been president of the wtbts since 2000. .
however, in recent official posts (april 2016), robert ciranko is identified as "president of the watch tower".
does anybody know what happened and if this is an official change?.

Is Robert Ciranko quoting Zech.8:23 in a way that is contrary to the official WT `s previous interpretation of this scripture ? or am I reading too much into his comment.
I always thought that it was prophecy in fullfillment of a great influx into the religion , just before the GT / Armageddon
