  recently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).

  i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.

  she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).

  Welcome to the forum Sorry , It`s not just your mom ,also your father and sister who are blindsided by JW doctrine ,I feel for you Bro, it must be hard when they bury their head in the sand and cant see reason.

  However you need to keep your sanity about all this , you cant change them with reason or logic , they have to come to this realisation in their own time,

  You can just drop little gems of "truth" now and them for them to ponder over , and I say again , you cant change them ,so dont bang your head against a wall

  has anyone found any religion that makes more sense than the watchtower organization?

  obviously catholics make even less sense than them so don't say that.... the reason i ask is because i still believe the bible is the word of god, but just that the jw's have twisted it for their own benefit, as most religions seem to do....

  really, wtf!.

  the polls were wrong and although it's tempting to blame voter suppression and fbi interference, that would just avoid looking at the real issues for the loss.

  in the event that one of the spouses is being psychologically mistreated in a very serious manner where his health is severely damaged and even his own life is in danger.

  Why have so many JW`s divorced their spouse because of one or the other no longer wanting to be known as a Jehovahs Witness , or who has now become an outspoken person against the Jehovahs Witness teachings,

  Is this just another example of the JW`s going beyond the things written in scripture ?

  i have been thinking about how the wtb&t society bullies all of its members into submission with the threats they use (by practice), i.e.

  “if you do this we will df you and you will be shunned”.

  “if you da yourself, we will make an announcement and your friends, relatives and family will abandon you”, etc.

  Nathan Natas hit the nail on the head .Jehovahs Witnesses are not employees of the WTB&TS ,they are nothing more than volunteers who choose of their own violition to follow suggestions made by the organization .

  The rank and file Jehovahs Witness does not represent the Organization of the WTB&TS .or its affilliates.

  How many of the rank & file do you think understand that fact ?

  Nobody in the organization forces anyone to comply with their directions , you do so voluntarily .

  I know , and you know , they use emotional blackmail against the rank & file JW`s , but that is a lot harder to prove in a court of law.

  The r&f member doesnt have to abide by that pressure , they can choose not to ,they are responsible for their own actions and nobody else.

  My gay friend went back to JWs?

  one of my best friends was disfellowshipped several years ago, and word quickly got around that it was because he's gay.

  we lost touch after that because of the disfellowshipping, but since i'm out now, i just found him online and got back in touch with him.

  it was a great conversation, but he said he returned to jehovah.

  Adding to what cofty said , as far as JW`s are concerned ,to many people its an emotional thing ,believing JW`s have the truth ,its not based on facts or even knowledge.

  They only have a superficial understanding of what is JW truth , no in depth knowledge of what they are supposed to believe.

  So the many who do leave the religion and then go back after a while ,do so because they leave the "truth" in their mind , however the "truth" ( in their eyes ) never leaves them ,so they go back to what they know.

  They are lazy xians who never bothered to base their beliefs on accurate knowledge and facts in the first place.

  I`m just glad Nazi germany and Imperialist Japan never won the war .I thank the soldiers dead and living for protecting Australia from such an outcome.

  The Nazis murdered millions of innocent people .

  Imperial Japan were barbaric in their treatment of their enemies

  Both of these countries were out to dominate , subjugate as many other countrys as they could.and enslave them.

  I hate to think of what this country would be like under Imperial Japan as Australia was their goal.

  in the congregation bible study, the book addressed how "truth" is progressive.... 18 just as jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914, he continues to do so during the time of the end.

  as chapters 4 and 5 of this book will show, over the past 100 years, god’s people have had to adjust their understanding on a number of occasions.

  does that fact mean that they do not have jehovah’s backing?

  How much of what the WT/JW/IBSA,taught,leading up to 1914 is accepted today?and how much was truth ?

  This study commences with a fallacy lie ? "Just as Jehovah progressively revealed truths about the kingdom in the period leading up to 1914 "

  John Doe, Whats the point of a prophecy if it can be changed after the events it describes happens ?

  If you have to interpret a prophecy after the event has occured then obviously its no prophecy ,A prophecy should be able to fortell an event before it happens , if it fails to do so its no prophecy.

  IBAS/JW/ have made numerous false prophecys in their 100+ years of claiming to be Gods only channell of communication with his chosen people.,Jehovahs Witnesses,

  The fact that they have had to modify their beliefs ,doctrines,evidences,expectations ,flip-flops, complete turn arounds as in Rom.13:1 ,check out C.T.Russell , Rutherford , and nathan h Knorr , the 1800`s the 1920`s and

  the 1963`s , where this doctrine went from accepting the Superiour authorities were in fact the Governments ,

  in the 1800`s to J.F.Rutherford changing that doctrine to saying that the Superiour Authorities were in fact Jehovah & Jesus which the sripture in question clearly shows to be wrong.

  Decades later in the early 1960`s the WT magazine goes full circle and states the scripture of Rom.13:1 is not jehovah & Christ Jesus , but the governmental powers that be

  SO its true the GB are not inspired and they are not infallible. they make mistakes .

  So why would anybody in their right mind put a life and death situation in the hands of these people.
