Despite their false predictions aren't the JWs right? Won't the world eventually end & Paradise come?
by deegee inaren't there christian denominations who do not make false end of the world predictions but who nevertheless believe that the world will eventually end and paradise (whether in heaven or on earth) will come?.
it seems the watchtower was just jumping the gun when they made false end of the world predictions but they are nevertheless the right: the world will eventually end and paradise will come..

by James Mixon inwhat is your understanding on the earth remain forever???

a topic we have been discussing here on paradise earth in the last two or three days and i notice no believer chimed in.

My young teenage son was into Kiss records ,what did I do ? I got rid of them and banned anything" Kiss" in the house
I`m also embarrassed to admit it now that I turned off the movie "Life Of Brian" after a few minutes because I thought it mocked Jehovah and the "truth" religion.
The Life Of Brian is now one of my favourite movies , such classic lines in it.

Welcome back Dinah ,Have you caught up with the ARC (Australia) into child sex abuse within the JW`s ?
Other sex abuse cases against the JW`s in Spain ,Canada ,The UK charities Commission ,The USA ,to name a few of on going cases before the courts.
The Australian ARC ,has been especially encouraging to people all over the world for their proffessionalism by the team conducting this inquiry .
A lot has been happening these past five years that gives us hope that things will change for the better one way or another.
Take care.

It sounds to me like one of your relatives is trying to satisfy his/her self that you should get back in the" truth" or have you cut off from the" truth" once and for all.
After all they are a wierd mob..

The Story of My Sister - Lurkers: Is this logical?
by Funchback inmy sister got baptized at 17 or 18 years old in 1983. she was ripe for the jw picking as she was shy, quiet, naive and with low self-esteem even though she was tall and beautiful and she attended one of the best high schools in philadelphia.. she wasn't outgoing and she only went out on a couple of dates prior to her baptism.
she worked at a day care center.
she loved children and animals.

Of course their is no problem getting into bed with the enemy Christendom or Satans system of things when the G.B. / Elders sell their Kingdom Halls that were dedicated to Jehovah to them for profit is their.
The hypocricy of the religion knows no bounds.

What is life?
by punkofnice inwhen i was a jobo, i used to thing of 'life without end at laaaasssssst'.. having been on my journey out of the wbt$ slaveholdery, i have found that something that makes sense is that life doesn't owe us a meaning.
psalms 146:4 was actually bangeth on the money-eth 'his breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.'.
although i am now very atheist, and really do not even think there is the remotest possibility of a god, that bible passage is correct.

Life is how you deal with the cards you have been dealt. Or sometimes it can mean you having to put up with what life deals out to you having no say in it,
Its going to mean different things to different people ,depending on where you are born in this world......Chance ? Why were you born where you were,Is that anything to do with a God ? I dont think so .
That opens up another kettle of worms not to be addressed here.
In the western world sure you have oppourtunities to make something out of yourself and be successful in whatever venture you want ,but is that the case with someone born into a third world country ?
Life is an accident of where we happened to be born in this world.
Had i been born in Saudi Arabia to an average family would I be living here in Australia owning my own home ?
What if I had been born in Iran , North Korea ,India ,Amozans ,etc,
So what is life ? It`s a product of chance ,and time and unforseen occurences. happening ,with no divine intervention taking place.

Who would vote to disband the JW organisation?
by Half banana infrom their history, it is evident that jehovah's witnesses are just another doomsday cult.. cults are run by autocrats.
on purpose they are ideologically fixated and they demand that their devotees hold the same absolute certainty of belief without regard for evidence.
the suspension of critical thought is encouraged and by focussing on the objectives of the cult belief in a like minded community, it gives both a sense of direction within a sort of ‘family’ and a hope of paradise perfection.. the leaders have everything to gain by controlling their followers; all the income goes in their direction.. democracy has strictly no part in a running cult.

Disband ? No
Have more enforceable laws that address freedom of expression without being penalised by the religion for breaking their rules.
Penalise members of the GB or Elders who fail to notify the appropiate authoritys of child sexual abuse regardless of whether it is mandatory or not in a particular state or territory .
Ban everybody not a relative from a hospital room where a JW might need a blood transfusion to save their life to minimise undue pressure put upon the patient to conform to JW doctrine of no blood.
The Blood liasion Committee in Hospitals is no more than an intimitating force to make sure that a JW conforms to the watchtower`s policy of not taking blood .Regardless of the outcome to the patient.
They are not blood related and should be expelled from the patients room .
The emotional blackmail that is practiced in the JW religion maybe a lot harder to police or enforce however I hope someone can com up with a solution .
That is the shunning policy practised by The JW Org, Any baptised member who falls foul of the doctrines /practices of the JW`s can be disfellowshipped and is then cut off from all association with family members and ,friends for a year or two depending on the severity of their sin .
They can only gain a normal relationship with their family and friends if they repent of their wrong doing and gain re-admission into the religion as a JW.
If they dont jump through the hoops to be re-instated they will never have a relationship with their family or friends.
If that is not emotional blackmail then I dont know what is.
These are the fundamental things that need to be changed not an overall ban.
Some of these points could also apply to some other religions that should be looked at also.

Most people in the western world are Christians in name only and if they attend a church service at all it is only for weddings births Easter or someones funeral or their own
The rest that celebrate xmas are people that never attend a church service ever.It has become a secular celebration in so called Christian nations by people that are not religious at all.
Its an excuse for a celebration food drink and partys
I know , me and my extended family are non religious and we enjoy getting together in celebration.
