Do You Trust The News Media?

but do you?

do you think that they are generally fair, unbiased and honest?.

News media today is not so much about facts or truth as it is about ratings.And entertainment mixed with news will gaurantee ratings.

Ratings are what newspapers consider the bottom line..

And are facts and truth the bottom line ? No.

The bottom line is entertainment ,what is going to entertain the public mixing that with a news item.

How can we blend the two.News and Entertainment. that is what will give us an edge over our competitors .

So do I trust the news media ? only with a grain of salt .They all have their own agenda.

From my conversion at 19 ,i was a captive for 33 years and have now been out 20+ years.

How come Jesus Christ only spent about 3 years in the ministry ,whereas most of us have spent the best years of our life in what we were led to believe was a life saving ministry.

i'm currently disfellowshipped and living at home with my parents, but because they are both still devout jws i have to keep going to the meetings and crap because i don't want to risk getting thrown out until i finish college or find a job that will let me support myself and go to college.. yesterday, my mother rode with me to the meeting and told me how much my best friend and my oldest sister are missing me, and it just tears me apart because during the meeting i was practically counting the minutes till it was over.

it didn't help matters that i had to sit with my family because the library was closed off, thus forcing me to follow along with the meeting on my tablet instead of reading something useful or interesting like i normally do.. when i got home i just cried out in frustration because it feels like no matter what i do, i am making the wrong choice.

either i have to keep pretending to support an organization that has caused so much pain to so many people, or i have to abandon my family and friends to it so i can save myself.

I agree ,you have a head on your shoulders and you should be OK in whatever decision you go with .

I wish you well in whatever your plan is so long as you dont do anything stupid LOL

What can we expect from an organisation that has leaders /persons in authoratative positions who set themselves up as the Governing Body of Jehovahs Witnesses who frown on higher education .?

Of the present membership of the existing Governing body , what is each of these members standard of

education ?

Can anybody furnish these qualifications ? for each individual ? It should be interesting.

Is ignorance an excuse?

i have always maintained that i hold nothing personally against individual witnesses, even those that have actively slandered our name and reputation based on the actions of some individuals.. i have often said that all these ones, (even the ones spreading gossip), are victims of the culture of the organization, and the directions of the gb.. but recently i have been rethinking this, and wonder if ignorance is really an acceptable excuse?.

i mean, with so much information now readily available about the society, its origins, its scandals, issues and conduct, is it simply ok for a witness to remain wilfully ignorant about the organization that dictates every aspect of their lives?.

is ignorance an excuse?.

Ask yourself the question stuck. is ignorance a justifiable excuse for disobeying a law of the land ?

The answer is NO. it is not an excuse .

So Jehovahs Witnesses who are ignorant of the many "failings" of the JW organisation either by burying their head in the sand ,or by sticking their head up their arse are in no way excused .

Willful ignorance is no exemption from the law ,nor is it from common sense ,or critical thinking.

Stupid is what stupid does.

Elusive response from Japan's Branch

an active jw living in tokyo is expressing extreme hate in twitter to those who are in different religion, admirers of musicians, those who love toplay air soft guns.. linkpeople who saw it got angry and exposed his real name,congregation where his associating with, his address, his professionon the internet.. linkthis guy wouldn’t stop expressing hate, so somebody spread softdrinks and gambages in front of the porch of his house.causing some uproar.some jws are writing, calling,sending fax to japan’s branch office tostop this man,because this cause bad reputation about jws as a whole.. branch office keep denying accepting letter, fax.they are saying they don’t know anything about the disturbance.a little newspaper on the internet wrote the article about this,.

linkand branch offices finally admitted accepting a letter of complaint.--------“ did you accept the letter we sent you?branch :yes-----did you read it?branch: no, man in charge should read it.---are you not in charge ?branch: no ------where the man in charge?branch: he is not available right now.. -------when can i talk to that person?

branch: i don’t knowthis kind of elusive conversation is going on and on and on.growing number of people is aware of the incident,and calling to the branch.disgusted of their elusive attitude.this keeps going.

A question I would ask :.Are you aware of how many ex -JW`s their are in Japan ? or the extent of how much dissatisfaction is among the R&F, publishers , JW`s in the congregations ?

Obviously english is not your first language .My son is married to a japanese lady and if you prefer to reply in japanese I would get it translated by her.

My son was brought up as a JW however his wife never was a JW.

After all their are a lot of countries where current law suits are in progress against Jehovah`s Witnesses for child sexual abuse .

The two witness rule is just another case of JW`s cherry picking scriptures to differentiate themselves from the rest of Christendom when in fact the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) has exceptions to the rule.

Were You Ever A True Believer?

i was raised in the religion and for the most part believed that my religion was truth.

i recognized some mistakes were occasionally made but felt that nobody is perfect.

then i smartened up and realized how dumb so many of the beliefs are....was there ever a time that you truly believed you had the "truth"?.

My wife and I converted when I was 19 and she was 16 before we got married, We were both true believers to the point where we stayed in it for the next 33 years, Vacation pioneered I was a MS (never wanted the responsibility of being an Elder)

So yes we were tru believers.

And it took a few more years to finally shake off some of the indoctrinated beliefs that we had.

I remember when I first started coming onto sites like this and hearing about the UN saga and I thought BS they would never do that ,using cows blood in medical procedures BS they would never use that ,fractions of blood BS they would never do that .

But guess what , it is all true
