Voting

hi guys,.

i have been told that a while ago there was a watchtower article that said that voting, (i'm in uk) is down to individual conscience.

i always thought it was a judicial matter.

In Australia it is compulsory for people 18 years old to register to vote.

Their are also exceptions for people who do not want to vote such as religious objections.

Many Jw`s take advantage of that ,also many JW`s go to polling booths and cast informal votes either by stuffing up the procedure making it void or by adding Jesus Christ /jehovahs kingdom on the ballot paper which I did on many occasions.

Others just wait for a please explain letter and put religious exemption as a JW which I have also done and nothing more is heard about it again

Though I have been out for over 20 years now if you voted for a political party you would be denying your neutrality and rejecting Jehovahs Kingdom of Christ Jesus that would get you DF.

The man has been charged with a string of child sex offences including indecent dealing, unlawful carnal knowledge of girls under 16 and deprivation of liberty.

The man was charged on Thursday after ongoing investigations from the Royal Commission into institutional child sex offences

Hopefully this is only one of many charges that will arise from the ARC into child sexual abuse in institutions in Australia

And as I said in the above post ,surely the Elders who know of these crimes and fail to report to the appropiate authorities such as police and child protection services ,they should face criminal prosecution also..

The Elders report it to the legal department of jehovahs Witnesses who again fail to report it to the appropiate authorities ,they should all be held responsible and charged accordingly.

Well said Finkelstein ,the elders who would have been involved in the JC and never reported it to the appropiate authorities should be jailed for obstructing justice.and being complicit in concealing a sex crime against a minor.

i've been reading many articles on here and other forums relating to exjws for some time.

when my mother first got involved with the witnesses back in '77, my mother's mother and my father's mother, being the "good catholics that they were", gave my father "license" to do "whatever it takes" to stop her associating with these people.. due to "confirmation bias", (i.e.

"satan will do whatever he can to stop you associating with us"), this "persecution" only convinced her that the witnesses had "the truth".

Thanks for the link sp74bb , the more exposure the witnesses are given about their cultish behaviour and the cover ups of child sexual abuse the better ,not to mention the kangaroo courts they hold in house.

an elder who is the most society following elder talked about loving god and then he talked about bible principles such as marry only in the lord.

it's not really a funny subject, our getting old and our bodies falling apart.

sure, as the saying goes, hard work won't kill you, but it can wear out your body.

Some of these ailments just come and go over a period of time I believe.

I developed a pain in the arch of my foot that made it difficult to walk seemingly for no reason at all ,after a few months it disappeared ?

A similar thing happened with my shoulder pain when I would lift my arm a certain height the pain was severe again after many months it also just vanished , the pain not my arm.

Some years ago I lost the ability to have a " normal erection" , I`m still waiting for that to remedy itself .

i told my parents that i was considering taking some college classes, (of course they think that i mean at the community college) and that it would be a good idea for me to take the act (which i took on the 8th of this month).

i'm trying to take baby steps so it won't be a big shock to them all at once.

and just to make something clear, i'm not planning on starting college this fall, but instead i have my sights set on next year.. p.s.

russia banning the organization might not have the same effect as the earlier ban did decades ago.. more and more people have access to the internet.

it only takes a few russian jws to start their google search for the first time to discover the truth about their religion.. questions might arise, such as "why is jehovah allowing this to happen?

consider too, the schism that happened when the romanian jws were cut off from brooklyn.

Members of the United Nations should be monitoring the failings/wrongs / criminal activities ,abuses of children etc of organizations within their membership.

As regards Jehovahs Witnesses religion there are a number of ongoing cases dealing with child sexual abuses around the world.

Do these nations in the UN talk to each other ? Do they compare notes ?

if they did they would find that the religion of Jehovahs Witnesses fail dismally in protecting the children in their religion and even victimise them in some situations./circumstances.

country after country have found Jehovahs Witnesses wanting as far as protecting their children from abuse in their religious communities.

Spain ,America ,Australia ,the United Kingdom are just a few of the child sexual abuse claims before the courts at the present time.against the religion of Jehovahs Witnesses .

And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

When you do wrong or allow wrongdoing to go on under your watch and you become accountabile to that and are punished accordingly you cant then play the persecution card.and expect to get away with it.

Yet that seems to be the policy of the GB of JW`s
