"Religion is the opium of the people" is still a truism today
The almighty true God is supposed to have communicated with imperfect humans for the first 4000 years and is dead silent for the past 2000 years ?
I think he has a serious problem.
l came to this conclusion based on the fact that humans are imperfect living in an imperfect world.the bible was written by imperfect human hands and is impossible to interpret with 100% accuracy.religion is man made to help control the masses..

the family of a jehovah's witness who died after repeatedly refusing blood transfusions can't sue the hospital where doctors begged for a chance to save her life, a state appeals court ruled.. the case, outlined in an opinion by superior court judge jacqueline o. shogan, involves a convergence of religion, medicine and the law.. its focus is on what happened before terri seels-davila, a jehovah's witness missionary, died after giving birth at hahnemann university hospital in philadelphia in november 2010.. seels-davila, who had been serving on mission with her husband in nicaragua, chose hahnemann because of its "bloodless medicine" program for patients who won't agree to having blood transfusions, including jehovah's witnesses, shogan noted.
the treatment plan for seels-davila called for recycling her own blood back into her system.. yet that proved to be inadequate when complications of her delivery required seels-davila to deliver by cesarean section.
Jehovahs Witnesses know full well the dangers of rejecting blood transfusions in life threatening situations and they still go against the doctors advice to accept a blood transfusion if the doctor finds it necessary.
They find a doctor who will treat a JW patient respecting their beliefs and when things go wrong these JW`s want to and do sue the medical profession for damages .
How can anyone in their right mind have any respect for people or a religion that sues the people who bend over backwards to accomodate their beliefs.

Before the rank and file ,the average door to door publisher wakes up to this fact ?
food for thought ?
Its on my to see list. A remarkable piece of history brought to life on the big screen ,so I believe.
hello to all, so i did want to talk about this topic because i think it is very important to me.
i have a grandfather who faded several decades ago.
he occasionally attends an assembly and the memorial but no longer attends meetings or goes on field service.
I was out, a fader , for about twenty years when on a whim I decided to disassociate myself from the religion.
I had no family left in except for a niece and I got it in my head that I would disfellowship the organization ,what did I have to lose .
Nothing
I only had contact with a couple of other faders and nothing has changed and my niece only ever contacted us if she thought she could encourage us back into the religion with statements like " the bros, are really concerned about those that have left the truth " (nobody ever tried to get us back in ) and "their is so much love shown in the congregations now" and crap like that.
It made me feel better that I could ex-communicate them.
someone sent this link of kelso law firm and their blog post on cardinal pell being australia's most hated man.
the implications are very interesting, as this is the 3rd most powerful man in the vatican.
the catholic church is no doubt much larger than jehovah's witnesses, however, the jw's incidence of child sexual abuse is about 4 times higher than the catholic church's child sex abuse (and subsequent coverups).. the main thread tying cardinal pell and the other vatican scandals to jehovah's witnesses is the australian royal commission.
I dont have statistical figures showing whether JW`s are worse than the R.C.Church as far as Child abuse goes.
However somebody out their will come up with these statistics sooner or later .
Jehovahs witnesses have only 8 Million members
R.C.Church has over 1 Billion members.
One day soon I hope someone will make a comparison between the two
I`m inclined to think while the JW`s may not be worse than the R.C.Church in a ration scenario, members /victims , I wouldnt be surprised if JW`s were pretty close to them.
However it remains for someone more cluey than I am.
ever heard of it?
i have but never realized the full meaning.
this is the tactic the wtbs uses to control people.
Did you think we said /meant this system/world would end in 1914 ? You must be mistaken , what we meant was 1914 would be the beginning of the time of the end at some future date that we will tell you about.....soon
Again and again and again.

if a jw gets drunk on an occasion, he could get a pass if it was in private, if however in public there's a much greater chance of disfellowshipping as the sin has now "maligned the reputation of the congregation".
i got this through michael sherlock's fb page, he likes to expose religious nuts,.
The fact that JW`s seek out doctors who will take on their restrictive procedures on medical options available to them and then when things go wrong and the patient dies going against recommended medical options to minnimise problems they then go and sue the doctors /medical profession knowing the risks involved is just pathetic.
I`m surprised that any doctor or medical profession will even consider taking on a JW patient now knowing full well they may be sued by the patient or their JW relatives.if things go against their expectations.
The law courts should never entertain such law suits ,The JW`s know the risks and have to bear the consequences.
Kudos for this judgement against the Jehovah Witnesses
hello, i've been lurking for quite some time here on this forum, reading a whole lot and i've finally made the courage to create an account as a form of escape and in hopes to be understood and not feel "mentally diseased".
little background on me, i am a born in but i consider myself a pimo (physically in mentally out).
i feel like i've always had doubts but these doubts would sink with the meetings and the assemblies and every other little thing that drowns any doubts a witness may have.
Welcome jules you can speak your mind here wth no fear of repurcussions .I like to point out to newbies such as yourself about the search option at the top right-hand of the screen.
Type in your question and their is a wealth of info that comes up going back about 16 years .
And their is no revision of history on here.
And you my friend are not the one who is mentally diseased.
I look forward to more posts from you.
Take care.
i was a window cleaner, i was at the time unemployed, homeless.
i had no education to be proud of (high school one a two b's rest c's) i was a jehovahs witness.
i had been a pioneer.
An excellent post snare thanks for sharing it with us
