The average Witness will continue to follow Watchtower leadership whether right or wrong.
by UnshackleTheChains ini hate to say this, but given my own experience as a jw for almost 3 decades, i am beginning to believe the average jw will continue to look to and be guided by the gb regardless of whether they are right or wrong.. despite all the scandals and negative media attention the watchtower organisation is receiving, life seems to go on as normal in jw land.
it's truly bizarre!!.
clearly, the gbs tactic of mostly hiding away from the media is clearly working for them.

Juarez MX Assembly Kingdom Hall to be sold.
by ironsnake656 inthere are several confirmed announcements in some congregations around the city regarding the sale of the assembly kingdom hall.
one of the reasons why it will be sold is that expenses are not covered by donations.
the hall was dedicated in 2009. actually, in some congregations the elders have not given the announcement for the publisher's reaction... .

With their billion dollars $$$$$ in real estate sales the WT couldnt tide them over for a bit ?
Whats the bet it will be sold to one of christendoms churches if they are the only ones interested in buying.

Ridiculous (degrading) comment on society's video
by Festus inon video "benefits of divine education" william samuelsson makes totally appalling comment.. starting from 3:05 he refers to "an effort" that was made in past to see how society's curriculum corresponds with normal - worldly - universities.. then he claims that following question was asked (to university representative) "how we in five months can teach the same that for them takes two years"?.
according to w samuelsson the representative of a university replied something like this: "your students are motivated, they have come to learn where as our students have been send to university by their parents and might have something else than learning in their mind".
this is to crystallize what he said.

The university representative`s statement was more than likely taken out of context and mis-quoted as is WT`s normal practice .
That is if the conversation really ever took place in the first place

Why the vitriolic hate?
by stuckinarut2 ini am sure we have all thought of this before, but it struck me again today:.
why does the society promote such vitriolic hate toward, and about those who have left "the truth" ?.
surely it is obvious that such critical attitudes towards ones like us who have left, only serves to proove that they do not have "the truth"?.

I agree with all the above "thoughts" plus they dont want anybody interfering with their cash cow.

Will religion ever truly be accountable for the abuse it has inflicted on children ? Sexuall or otherwise ?
by smiddy inthe sad truth in todays society is that religion gets an out of jail card on so many levels and i cant think of how this situation is ever going to change in the foreseeable future.. my main fear is that the few investigations going on is just to appease those clamouring for justice .. and the forces in control are just seen to be doing the right thing whereas nothing concrete except for some small token judgements will ever be executed.. call me a cynic but i doubt the arc will bring about much change at the end of the day.. remember they dont have much authority to do anything except advise..

“For God so love the world …
by deegee in... that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not be destroyed but have everlasting life” (john 3:16).. it just occurred to me that if parents were to follow this scripture, they would put their children to death if their children don’t obey/agree with them.

If "God so loved the world" why would he only communicate with a patriarch Abraham some 2000 years after the creation ?
In the meantime he has killed off all humanity ,man, woman, and child in a worldwide flood. Not to mention all the animals he created.
Except for a select few.
Then he only chooses to communicate with a select chosen few for the next 2000 years the Jews.
Good for them ,I have nothing against them however he ignores all other races or tribes to their detriment.
And God not being partial actually only supports and fights for the Jews.? Weired that eh ? that he loved the world of mankind.
And then when Jesus makes his debut on the world scene it is still just a small window of humans that are to gain favour with almighty God.
Only those who are to accept Jesus Christ as Gods chosen one .
Does God announce this to the whole world ,no he only gives this instruction to a small band of you guessed it Jews who were to dispense this info to the rest of the world
Why is an Almighty God the creator of the universe giving such a tremendous responsability to a small band of imperfect humans to deliver such a message of salvation.?
If he truly loved the world of mankind ?
And then threatens to destroy them all at Armageddon ? because the majority of humans have not heeded the conflicting warnings given by his chosen people on earth.?
So regarding all of the above if God really did love the world of mankind he would give them a pass .
I know I would .

The freedom from guilt sessions with myself.
Enjoying the company of" worldly" people without judging them and appreciating we are all just human.
And realising their are some very good people out their who would give you the shirt off their back and ask for nothing in return
Pokies ,lotto ,keno ,even the horses now and again in moderation of course and being responsible about it.
And no fear of being zapped by a lightning bolt.

Kids ... and baptism.
by Tallon ini have noticed, from reading posts on this and other related websites, what to me is an alarming practice taking place within the jw's.
and that is the baptism of kids.. on a recent discussion posted by pe ( video of the girl now forced to shun her sister) this child was baptised at 9 years old.
all of us who were baptised at a much older age know of the many questions one needs to give serious consideration and understanding of to become eligible for baptism, not to mention the two baptism questions asked before being dunked.. surely the organisation must know that children of such a young age are not mature enough to fully grasp the seriousness, demands and consequences of making such a decision.. another point; if jesus is the example to follow, then why did he only get baptised at age 30, and he was perfect!.

Jw`s claim to be based on the Christian greek scriptures (NT ) JW`s have always had a go at christendom for baptising young children /babies etc. now they are going down the same path .
Baptising children how long before they start baptising babies.
Anybody have the youngest child baptised at an Assembly of JW`s ?

If anybody here is a believer in a God who created us surely you must accept he also gave us a brain to think and reason for ourselves ,if he didnt he would have created us as robots unable to think for ourselves.
In 6000 years of the written history of all nations their is no evidence of any God among all nations that such a Supreme Being ever existed.
And if such a Supreme Being ever existed he/she has never revealed themselves to the modern world .
And why is that ? he/she had no problem talking to humans pre Christian era ,surely it would be more important to do so now that he is going to annihilate 8 billion people at Armageddon ? Isnt he a God of love ?
All believers have are writings from 2nd ,3rd , or 4th witnesses to something or someone who said this or that.
Present such arguments in a court of law and it would be thrown out pronto.
