Muslims vs. JWs as friends

this is not meant to be a controversial discussion, but just mentioning what has happened to my daughter.. i personally started my fade early this year 2015, it has resulted in my losing all my so called jw friends and the brake-up of my marriage.

when i split up with my wife, she asked our daughter who she would like to live with, my daughter decided to live with me, and also abandoned the cult.. recently my daughter told me that she is very disappointed with the congregation of jehovah's witnesses because she thought she had friends there, but now she has realized that it was all conditional, not a single one of them has even remotely tried to keep contact with my daughter, she is 15, not baptized and never a publisher.. now yesterday she met up with a jehovah's witness friend who is in another congregation.

this friend is also 15, baptized since she was 14, a very dominant elder father, and has virtually no association outside jw circles, and also internet access is banned at home.

On the bright side your daughter learned a valuable lesson she will never forget , there is no way she is ever going to go back .So you don`t have to worry about that.

Thankfully she was never baptized which may have been a bit more stressful.

It brings up another question though , J.W,`s shun unbaptized people who no longer attend meetings?

I wish you and your daughter all the best , free from the restraints of a cult religion and to live your life the way you want to , and not be manipulated by other people who try to make you live the way they want you to live.

When a person at the door to door work rejects the message of a J.W, in the Field service are they then shunned ?

Isn`t that inconsistent ? / hypocritical even ?

My RC hearing brought forward. Will be in two weeks

through this forum of wonderful freaks, i have met someone who is coming with me to my hearing.

initially i was slated for next year, but will be attending in two weeks time.

all is in place from travel vouchers, support, where to go ............very efficient and well done.

child abuse, shunning, blood transfusions and many other topics were mentioned in this report.the documentary makers asked for a response from the leadership of jehovahs witnesses to the damaging statements made by survivors of child abuse and domestic violence.

Sorry , but you left out one important fail ,

The war on gun control in the USA , the N.R.A. , an absolute failure .

The koran /Quaran , is based on a literal interpretation of a Centuries old text of sacred writings held dear by it`s adherents.That has no place in today`s society .

The N.R.A. and there supporters also base there interpretation on texts/writings of a day gone by that has no place in today `s society .

I don`t profess to have the answer to either problem , however , I do know that both have to change for the better sooner or later. , preferably sooner .

How about Jehovah`s Witnesses open their Bible to Ecl,9:11 and read , "time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all " Just because this statement is a truism accredited to the Bible does not mean it was put their by any God , humans , penned the words in the Bible. No God wrote the Bible.

A simple statement of fact ,There is no intervention by any God at all in our lives ,time and unforeseen occurrences happens to all of us., good people and bad people..

How many times have we heard the expression that someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time .

How many times have we heard the expression that someone was in the right place at the right time .

Validating the expression , Time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all , a human observation of past events , nothing more.

How do you overcome SHUNNING after leaving the organization and move on?

it amazes me how many of you have left it all behind, including family, brothers and sisters, friends and a full network of people.

i for one cannot find the courage to breakaway, and this causes me great anxiety and stress.

it eats me alive to think that if i open my mouth everyone i know will simply turn their back on me.

Time and unforeseen occurrences befall us all Ecl.9:11 ,

just because I don`t believe the bible is the inspired word of God , and that I don`t believe in the God of the Bible , does not mean that there are not good quotes /phrases that are truisms as in any philosophy or Religion .

"Time" does have a healing effect when we grieve over something.

"Unforeseen occurrences" You didn`t ever think you would be in a position to doubt /question/ or even abandon the Religion you thought had the" Truth"

Life is for the living , discover what interests you and pursue it .Join clubs or community groups who have like interests Instead of viewing people as agents of Satan view them as potential real life friends .

You can be proactive in changing your circumstances for the better or you can stagnate and bemoan what you think you have lost .The choice is ours to make.

As they say," One door closes another opens" , but only if we let it .

Hypothetical question. There is no more guns on our streets, would the crime rate go down?

I think the problem now in the USA is we have a two or even a three fold problem ,one that is homegrown , crime /gang/ related , and two, one that is inspired by Local Terrorist `s . or ,three International terrorism inspired from outside the country.for various reasons.

The ease of which Americans can gain access to guns / firearms does not help the situation.

You can spout off all you want that " guns don`t kill people , people kill people " , however people use guns to kill people .in increasing numbers in increasing incidents in America with increasing frequency .

Something has to be done to stop this madness , because madness is what it is .

Just as the Western World has to show some balls and attack Islamic Extremists on the ground , the only way to eliminate them as a threat to the rest of the world ,

The USA needs to show some balls in attacking the Idealogy , that it is " the right of every American to bear arms." That is an idealogy that belongs in the American past , relegated to western movies , and has no relevance in the 21st Century enlightenment.

These mass shootings that are frequently taking place on American soil , the so called leader of the free world , just does not sit well , what Nation in the world wants to look to America as an example they want to follow ?

Is American democracy an example you want to follow ? What nation would want to do that ? I would say zilch.

Noah's Ark

so i'm reading the book "the atheist book of bible stories" and something just occurred to me.. noahs ark rested on the top of mount ararat.

how the hell did all the land animals, dinosaurs and other monsters get to ground level?

did noah and his family just push them off the mountain and hope for the best?

Did not Jesus say , " just as it occurred in the days of Noah so it will also be in the days of the Son of man " ?

So if the account of Noah is crap , what does that say about Jesus statement.?
