One thing that really pissed me off was young children addressing adults as Bro,or Sis, Bob or jean using first names of adults , I always thought that was disrespectful and a familiararity children shouldn`t have .

i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.
" who talks like that?
they must be relics of the fred franz era.

All religions , other than JW`s are "Babylon The Great" False Religion .
Makes you wonder why GB member Geoffrey Jackson said when questioned by Angus Stewart at the ARC , Do you believe Jehovah`s Witnesses are the only Religion God is using today ? or words to that effect .
And his answer was : "That would be presumptuous of me to say that" I believe that was his exact quote.
" Not everybody in the KH is an approved associate ".
" That person is weak in the truth " as against "That person is strong in the truth" a disapproved and an approved associate in the congregation.
" That person is marked " a questionable person to hang out with .

im new here, so go easy with me!
just wanted to know if any one has any idea's or personal experience in regard to drug and alcohol abuse in former jw's.
all the one's i know have just lost the plot when it comes drugs and alcohol, especially drug use.
Hi , Tigger , I see you joined here 16 years ago and have posted 2 times and commented 26 times , you must be the quite silent type , good to see you back again .So I guess you are new here .in a sense ,
And believe me I knew personally a number of active JW`s who had an alcohol problem , who managed to hide it successfully .
Please join in the discussions more often , it`s a great place to be .
Take care

god forbid you would talk about the dead person at his funeral.
so what do most people get after living 70-80 years?.
a 5-10 minutes eulogy.
Late Bloomer , I went to a " worldly" funeral of a work mate who was killed in an accident at his home .
It was held in a Uniting Church , that is a merger of some protestant churches here in Australia .
And it was a Celebration of his life , and guess what : One of the songs was about giving praise to Jehovah God .
It`s a blatant lie that Christendoms Churches do not use that name for God..
Since leaving the JW`s I have attended quite a few "worldly" funerals and they all Celebrate the life of the deceased .

the so-called 10 commandments are a post-biblical construct.... there is an elohist list at exodus 20 and a yahwist one at exodus 34 that contains such gems as "you shall not cook a kid in its mother’s milk.".
any intelligent adult could create a more useful list of ethical precepts before the end of a coffee break.. it is interesting to compare the satanic temple's seven tenets.
i think you might agree that it makes yahweh's rules look like they were written by a bronze age power-hungry, misogynistic priest.
Cold Steel ,makes reference to God`s law to protect animal and bird life.Apparently he/she believes in the Bible , so apart from God approving of blood sacrifices of animals and birds by the millions ,God also destroyed every animal and bird life everywhere on earth , in the flood of Noah`s day except for a handful of survivors.
I wonder what happened to all the marine life when the earth was deluged with fresh water that covered the highest mountains.?
Good one God.

on the subject of truth.
..... i was always under the impression that one of the reasons jws couldn't do jury duty or go to court etc was that we were not allowed to swear on the bible.
..as in i swear to tell the truth the whole truth etc etc .
blondie , your Questions from readers as you rightly state is from 2003 ?
I believe this is just another example of the G.B.speaking out of both sides of there mouth .Doublespeak.
I`m going back to the period of 1960-1993 the time I was a JW in Australia .
And it was definetely told to us that swearing on the bible was a no-no. back then.
Matthew 5:33-37 was used to support that belief ,particulary vs 37 which states
" just let your word yes mean yes your no no for what is in excess of these is from the wicked one "
If any other Australian has a different view on that in the time period stated by all means correct me.

Here in Australia , I was in for 33 years and I was always under the impression that it was wrong to swear on the Bible , the scripture that was quoted to me was Matthew 5:33-37 , the last part which reads , "just let your word yes mean yes your no , no , for what is in excess of these is from the wicked one."
So I was convinced swearing on the Bible was wrong a definite no/no.

hey all.
i haven't posted in forever and a day, but i feel like this is a great place to ask this question because of so many people who are unsure of their beliefs.
my mom was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer about four years ago.
ilikecheese ,
I`m very sorry for your loss my friend,it`s going to take time to come to grips with that ,
I would take a break on what you want to believe until you are in a more stabilized environment ,so you can make more rational deciscions to be made in a more relaxed environment .
Do not let emotions govern your decisions,
Give yourself time to reflect on your options .

i've always found it amazing that people can say with such conviction that jehovah is their friend.. we are talking about a "friend" who perhaps daily "tests" us to see if we are his friends.
all of us have dealt with some form of hardship such as the death of a loved one, chronic illness or whatever.
it is in these cases that the brothers will tell a person that perhaps it is a test, or that "jehovah knows you're not ready" or some other lame excuse.. do our real friends "test" us to see if we will be loyal to them?
Marriage partners that do not communicate , eventually fail .
Intelligent worshipers of God , who do not get feedback from him , need to get a life ,he is obviously not interested in you.
No communication with humanity and God for 2000 years ? Either God does not care or God does not exist .
Actually because he hasn`t contacted anybody these past 2000 years he isn`t interested in anybody . or worse he never existed except in the minds of men .
