by TMS ina tribunal of religious, if not spiritual, men, whose decision can alter lives, disrupt, no, destroy, families, ruin young lives, create angst, pain, depression, hopelessness, sorrow, despair can be the job for three typically unqualified men known in jw land as the judicial committee.. my first judicial experience as a kid of 18 serving on the jc involved disfellowshipping an elderly sister for apostacy when she would not promise to quit frequenting a neighborhood christian science reading room for personal study.
my second big case involved a baptized 12 year old who allegedly stole a hot wheel from k-mart.
he admitted to nothing, answering every question with "i dunno" and was put on probation, the 60's equivalent of reproof.. in subsequent years, i "served" on committees judging accused adulterers, fornicators, thieves, gamblers, non-providers, taking up boxing, slanderers and yes, apostates, sitting also on so-called appeal committees as well.

My 2016 RC Experience

Jehovah`s Witnesses just like to change things for the sake of change , it gives the impression that Jehovah`s Chariot is moving forward while this old world is going backwards /downhill .
Obviously , oldskool you haven`t been keeping up with Jehovah`s Chariot these past 100+ years since Jesus was enthroned as king back in 1914 .
Let me fill you in what he has accomplished these past 102 years of his 1000 year reign.
Lets see now .........OKayyyyyy , the magazines seem to say he has done a lot , . however it`s not something or anything really different , that Christendoms religions claim that GOD /Jehovah/Jesus , is blessing them.
Aministration changes and the like , things that are handled by low paid employees etc.
So in 102 years of Christ Jesus rule since 1914 JW`s can`t show anything that sets them apart from any other religion except for hype.
If the next 900 year reign of Jesus Christ is anything like the first 100 years , don` t expect a Paradise , he does not seem to be any better than our present day Politicians.who make all promises and don`t deliver,

Home bookstudy ended because of 'independent study' groups? Any interesting stories regarding these types of groups?
by Nicodemus Kathoplizo insomeone suggested the other day that the home bookstudy meeting ended because of 'independent study' groups (in ireland) going 'off the reservation' and left the truth (tm).. has anyone heard of this before?.
does anyone have interesting stories of 'independent study' groups resulting in large scale apostasy?.

They couldn`t condone independant study groups , because they may come up with more plausible explanations of the scriptures than what they did., we cant have that, they thought that will undermine our authority .
And that could cause a schism .
And apparently that was happening , hence the crackdown against them.

Are these guys for real ? We used to joke about the dress styles brothers and sisters wore , and this was 30 years ago , identifying roughly when they came into the " truth" more often than not we were right.
Have a look at young ones in the Borg today , most of them , whether they be male or female they reflect the fashion trends that are current in society today.
Whether it be dress or hairstyles , they mimic the " Worldly " standards of the day.

The simple truth here is Jesus said " [ This ] generation " will by no means pass away....etc.
Not overlapping generations.
" This " generation meaning one , not overlapping or multiple generations .
Their is absolutely no rationale for suggesting an overlapping generation.
The WTB&TS are guilty of adding to the scriptures , words and intent that are not their.

by oldskool ini used to be a member of this site, but jumped off a good number of years ago (08?).
i don't have access to my old email, so i'm using a new account.. anyway, i was baptized jw in late 90's.
da'd mid 2000s.. when i left there were three meets a week plus field service.

Members of the Governing Body used to be just names we heard or maybe a photo in a magazine if he was lucky.In other words their was a mysterious persona about them .
Now they are JW.ORG media personalities , hogging the limelight ,and in some cases showing what buffoons they really are.
The F&F have now been indoctrinated to wear badges , trinkets ,necklaces , bangles broaches etc. with JW.ORG ,the tetragrammaton , WT 1916-2016 H.Q., and all sorts of other trinkets advertising the cult .

in this time they build 16 language-groups and 3 sign-language-groups.

,Your right s.o ,you would only find maybe one or at a pinch two if that , in any congregation who are deaf.
Maybe their is a cart going around Germany with a JW crier ringing a cowbell calling out "Bring out your deaf"

Newspaper article on Conventions—why so glowing?
by Londo111 inevery year in dozens of cities where conventions are being held, newspapers typically write an article about the event.
there are exceptions, but usually it is like the articles above.
i would love to see more newspaper articles that did some actual objective reporting, rather than puff pieces.

zeb ,that is a common practice to have special editions that are only sold at the convention sights.
Naive JW`s think what a great witness is given to the community not knowing they are the only ones receiving those copies.
