What is the Education Level of the Governing Body members?
by Wild_Thing ini would love to compile a list of the education obtained by the governing body members both past and present.
can anyone provide any information to get me started?.
it still amazes me they think they can translate ancient languages with an 8th grade education.

Who has he replaced ? Stephen Lett ? I hope not .
Stephen Lett must have been responsible for an influx of exodus from the WT/JW , religion .
Is that an oxymoron ?

I think it`s an exercise in futility , sorry vanderhoven7 ,if you have genuine success with these discussions ,then I take my hat off to you for your patience .
I would have either hung myself or shot them long ago.

Jehovah`s Witnesses Boasted They have No Clergy Laity Class ?
by smiddy inwell that`s what was impressed on me to differentiate between the true religion and false religion , when i was converted in 1960 , do they still claim that ?
believing that they still do , i will say this.. what about ,:the governing body who definitely are set apart from the rank and file for their attitude towards the r&f , but also from the attitude of the r&f towards the governing body members.many do seem to idolise gb members by their actions , and the gb members dont seem to discourage that.. and not only for their attitude , how about their life-style , being housed in bethel with all the mod -cons of modern civilization as opposed to a r&f member living in a third world country .does the wt society do anything to make their lifestyle improve ?
{ did jesus have a place to rest his head ?

Members of the Governing Body , the "Vatican Class" of Jehovah`s Witnesses , enjoy worldwide travel on areoplanes to all destinations of the world for Conventions to give talks in person .
All of which could be done by e-mail , telephone hook-ups ,skype ,video links.,which would be far cheaper .
Why don`t they do that ? Simply because of power and prestige ,establishing their authority over the" Laity class"
And maintaining their self importance.
CO`s , DO`s , Missionarys ,etc.etc, all get paid in one form or another , it`s just a matter of whether it is counted as such , and how it is audited , as is the case in the following.
Where do they stay on their trips overseas ? Brother & Sisters house ? or at a Hotel ?
Do any of these GB members toil away at a job or trade ? of course not .(the apostle Paul comes to mind here )
Do they wear tailor made suits ? or are they off the shelf at K-Mart ? Do they eat at soup kitchens , or are they provided with fine food from Chefs.
Where do they get their Jewellery , watches , rings , etc., if they don`t work for a living .who pays for all of that?
Of course they get " paid" it`s just not the usual salary we are used too

Is the Jesus of religion conservative, and the Jesus of the New Testament liberal?
by Fernando inis the jesus of religion conservative, and the jesus of the new testament liberal?.
your thoughts?.

I wonder whether Jesus was conservative or Liberal when it`s all boilled down to it.
From what I can gather he was ????,He never wrote anything down himself at all .Maybe he thought what he had to say wasn`t very important at all , certainly not to be taken literally by the jews and definetly not to be taken literally by the whole world. ?
The only sayings of Jesus comes from second and third , fourth ,? hand accounts as to what he was supposed to have said.
That does not inspire confidence in me.
At least Moses is attributed to have written 5 books , even if they do cover a couple of Centuries after the event.
Wasn`t Jesus touted as the greater Moses ?

Anders Anderson , good points.
No child ,teenager or even an adult is forewarned of the consequences as to what will happen to you if, by any chance , you fail to live up to the rules and regulations imposed on you by the Jehovah`s Witness Elders /,Governing Body /clergy class.
Such as marking you as an undesirable acquaintance to associate with .
Publicly reproving you via an announcement in a Kingdom Hall , making you a person to steer clear of.
Disfellowshipping you in a public announcement in a Kingdom Hall ,whereby all jehovah`s Witnesses including family members will now actively shun you , not even saying a greeting to you for at least a year , and then only if the congregation Judicial committee convenes and welcomes you back into the religion after you have jumped through many hoops to appease them.

further from ARC
by zeb inthe royal commission has published 35 submissions received from a range of organisations and individuals in response to its consultation paper: best practice principles in responding to complaints of child sexual abuse in institutional contexts.
the commission received submissions from sector peak bodies, government agencies, survivor advocacy and support groups, religious institutions and other interested parties.
the consultation paper, which was released in march this year, sought input into which matters should be canvassed in a complaint handling policy and how those matters might be addressed, as well as the royal commission’s suggested best practice principles.
