recently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).
i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.
she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).

However you need to keep your sanity about all this , you cant change them with reason or logic , they have to come to this realisation in their own time,

Why have so many JW`s divorced their spouse because of one or the other no longer wanting to be known as a Jehovahs Witness , or who has now become an outspoken person against the Jehovahs Witness teachings,
Is this just another example of the JW`s going beyond the things written in scripture ?
i have been thinking about how the wtb&t society bullies all of its members into submission with the threats they use (by practice), i.e.
“if you do this we will df you and you will be shunned”.
“if you da yourself, we will make an announcement and your friends, relatives and family will abandon you”, etc.
Nathan Natas hit the nail on the head .Jehovahs Witnesses are not employees of the WTB&TS ,they are nothing more than volunteers who choose of their own violition to follow suggestions made by the organization .
The rank and file Jehovahs Witness does not represent the Organization of the WTB&TS .or its affilliates.
How many of the rank & file do you think understand that fact ?
Nobody in the organization forces anyone to comply with their directions , you do so voluntarily .
I know , and you know , they use emotional blackmail against the rank & file JW`s , but that is a lot harder to prove in a court of law.
The r&f member doesnt have to abide by that pressure , they can choose not to ,they are responsible for their own actions and nobody else.
one of my best friends was disfellowshipped several years ago, and word quickly got around that it was because he's gay.
we lost touch after that because of the disfellowshipping, but since i'm out now, i just found him online and got back in touch with him.
it was a great conversation, but he said he returned to jehovah.
Adding to what cofty said , as far as JW`s are concerned ,to many people its an emotional thing ,believing JW`s have the truth ,its not based on facts or even knowledge.
They only have a superficial understanding of what is JW truth , no in depth knowledge of what they are supposed to believe.
So the many who do leave the religion and then go back after a while ,do so because they leave the "truth" in their mind , however the "truth" ( in their eyes ) never leaves them ,so they go back to what they know.
They are lazy xians who never bothered to base their beliefs on accurate knowledge and facts in the first place.
