  some family friends who are engaged are getting some flack around the particulars of their wedding ceremony (surprise!

  "strain out the gnat, gulp down the camel", and all that).

  My wife and I were married in a KH in 1960 by a P.O. in Melb. Aust. my wifes two bridesmaids were not JW`s and one particulary was quite worldly being the girlfriend of my wifes brother who was the best man at our wedding he also was not a witness

  My father in law made sure a barrell of beer was on hand at our reception .Jw`s on one side of the reception hall and worldly people on the other .We were only in the "truth 12-18 months before our wedding so only some members from the cong.attended outnumbered by worldly people.

  My wife and I experience by the brother who converted us was used at a cicuit assembly at which we got baptised a few months before our wedding.

  Do they still do the Written Review?

  i left in 2006. i seem to vaguely recall that the written review was no more but i can't say for sure.. so, do they still do it?

  was (is) it a waste of time?

  GEEEEZZZZ that does bring back memorys ,didnt they have scriptures to look up with the questions ? I`m going back to 1960 .

  That reminded me also of the publisher record board that took primary position at the front of the hall with the congregations activities compared to the national averages.

  Poor people are sub-human?

  has anyone noticed how many jw's really seem to be rollin in it?

  escpecially the elders, and they treat their subordinates like filthy gum on the bottom of their shoe?

  just wondering because i too am poorer than poor and have spent a fourth of my life homeless already and i am 22.. another thing to consider is why domost of the population on this planet seem to hate the poor, even though we outnumber the middle class and the rich greatly?

  You make some good points Pete Zahut , I might add also that JW`s view this system of things as under the control of Satan the Devil so doing anything to help anybody in this system is helping the Devil.

  The WTG&T$ is not a Charity that helps the homeless or disadvantaged person or for that matter their own members ,if their own members get into difficultys they are pointed in the direction of social services and many of the elderly are actually living in church retirement homes

  moses has a history of what 80+ years as a servant of jehovah ?

  in one form or another .. moses wrote / penned the first five books of the bible and went through many trials and tribulations in serving his god jehovah in his long lifetime.interacting with god at times.. jesus was born and nothing is recorded of him until he is a young adolescent child ?

  and very little about him.. then we are introduced to him when he is 30 years old and gets baptised ,and only then does he start his preaching .. does he start preaching to the world ?

  Thank you David_Jay for putting the Jewish prespective on my post .I was going by memory that the Society said something to that effect that Jesus was a greater Moses but I cant be 100% sure ,

  Maybe it had something to do with one of these scriptures .Acts Ch.3 ,Acts CH.7 or Heb,Ch.3
