Marry Only in the Lord

" Marry only in the Lord ? How many failed marriages of jehovahs witnesses do you know of in your circle of friends .I think I have run out of fingers and toes to count from 1960 till now of so many failed marriages in the so called "truth"
Two within my own family.
And the reasons are just as diversified as any in the real world....Infidelity ,Incompatability ,etc,etc,
So ,are JW`s any more moral than worldly people ?....No ,because of the above reasons.
Do they have a better record of marriage success than worldly people ? judging by my experience and knowledge no ,I have been in more than 6 congregations in my 32 years in the religion and i have witnessed first hand marital breakups among brothers and sisters.in these congregations.
and I cant believe these were just isolated one offs that were not happening all over the world.
How about you and your congregation ? any similarities ?

I have a big nose...
by The Rebel insurprisingly whilst hating being born with this over large nose, women have fallen in love with my nose.
so with regards to look and charm, what i hated about my physical attributes, many women have found attractive.
anyway i just wanted to say what we find unattractive about ourselfs, doesn't necessarily mean others do.

I hate the Watchtower but I really still hate the Trinity Jesus is NOT God!
by Witness 007 insome bibles use the term "worship" when refering to jesus...at times people did fall down and bow to him........this doesn't show he was god!
the greek term; proskeyneo, means to prostrate oneself, to bow down and show honour.
now, this was done for jehovah.....and his representatives....jesus israelite kings and priests....but for the honour of jehovah not as creature worship which even angels would refuse.. also i studied the non-biblical early church gospels which really does show a slow decline over 150 years, into the trinity as the watchtower claims...........although i still hate the watchtower society at least i learnt something that wasn't a lie..

Jehovahs witnesses are conditioned to obey the governing body even if they dont understand or even agree with the direction they are given by the G.B.
The bottom line is obey the governing Body at all costs .
If thats not extremism I dont know what is.

If you had to choose
by dothemath inif you had to choose to belong to 1 religion, i was curious as to what any on the forum would pick.. i realize most here are likely atheist (i would have to say i'm agnostic), but if any would like to share their opinion, and maybe why?.

Voting
by confused inhi guys,.
i have been told that a while ago there was a watchtower article that said that voting, (i'm in uk) is down to individual conscience.
i always thought it was a judicial matter.

In Australia it is compulsory for people 18 years old to register to vote.
Their are also exceptions for people who do not want to vote such as religious objections.
Many Jw`s take advantage of that ,also many JW`s go to polling booths and cast informal votes either by stuffing up the procedure making it void or by adding Jesus Christ /jehovahs kingdom on the ballot paper which I did on many occasions.
Others just wait for a please explain letter and put religious exemption as a JW which I have also done and nothing more is heard about it again
Though I have been out for over 20 years now if you voted for a political party you would be denying your neutrality and rejecting Jehovahs Kingdom of Christ Jesus that would get you DF.

The man has been charged with a string of child sex offences including indecent dealing, unlawful carnal knowledge of girls under 16 and deprivation of liberty.
The man was charged on Thursday after ongoing investigations from the Royal Commission into institutional child sex offences
Hopefully this is only one of many charges that will arise from the ARC into child sexual abuse in institutions in Australia
And as I said in the above post ,surely the Elders who know of these crimes and fail to report to the appropiate authorities such as police and child protection services ,they should face criminal prosecution also..
The Elders report it to the legal department of jehovahs Witnesses who again fail to report it to the appropiate authorities ,they should all be held responsible and charged accordingly.
