The reason my husband did not take the brother to court was NOT because of "dirtying Jeh's name"... It was a scriptural reason: "do not take your brother to court".

However if any "brother" touches the WT/JW`s eyeball (really their pocket $$$$$ ) they will have you in court faster than you can say what ?

I have witnessed it in a congregation and I`m sure their are plenty of others who have seen this double standard applied .

When "you" are taken advantage of in any way by your fellow JW you are encouraged to just leave it in Jehovahs hands he will right it in his own due time.

When the GB is taken advantage of in any way "you" will be hauled before the courts in no time .

The GB/JW are very selective in how they apply the scriptures.

I`m sorry your husband never took advantage of the DA`s offer to prosecute.it may have prevented more people from becoming victims.

Its just a thought ,

We will never know.

my boyfriend is an ex new jehovah witness and today i got a message from one of his friends asking if i could delete a comment he wrote on one of my pictures because my boyfriends mom is harassing him about it.

he also basically told me that she has people who added me just to view my profile and let her know!!!!

she also sends him messages and pictures from the watchtower.

Your boyfriend needs to stand up to his mom and tell her to back off and if he`s not up to that drop him and this religious cult and find youself a new bf before you get in too deep because their is only pain and heartache their.

Spirit directed vs inspired

i've always been confused as to what the discrepancy is between the phrases "spirit directed/spirit led" and "inspired".

in the february 2017 watchtower study article, paragraph 12 says:.

The Governing Body members are masters of speaking out of both sides of their mouth with the sole purpose of confusing the rank and file into submitting to their leadership.

They purposely obfuscate their writings to their members so they can flip-flop between answers they give, any who have an inquiring mind and if any continue to question the GB they will be DF.

It`s a wake up call for you JS and any other lurkers reading this thread.

We have all been conned by their deceitful practices.

JW Kids Bullying My Daughter

trying not to type swearwords as i write this so bare with me.. my little 3yo attends meetings with her jw mum (who doesn't believe watchtower anymore but is stuck in because she relies on her family for help).

my mum (the one who tells people im dead) had a party for her grandchildren.

that's my 4 nieces and 1 nephew aged from 3yo-11yo.

My jaw dropping OMG moment at the end of the convention

yes folks.

over the past few days i can honestly say the convention was relatively quite good.

most of the talks, videos, symposiums were in line with scripture if you have faith in the bible.

I`m going to try some of these additional toppings the next time I get a basic pizza base and be experimental with some of all your suggestions .

I quite like different sorts of cheese ,pepperoni ,garlic ,black pitted olives ,anchovies ,avocado ,red onions ,and a sprinkling of Jalapenos topped with tomatoe slices.

And definetely no pineapple

I was vulnerable at the time of my conversion convinced my then GF to join me who later became my wife and convinced her sister who had kids also to join us.

Only one niece is still entrenched in the cult.

But when I was in I would have died for what I believed the "truth" was back then and my wife and kids ?

That realisation scares the hell out of me now. How could I get to that point. I thought I was a sensible reasonably educated person who didnt fall for scams.

What is it with this organization, Jehovahs only true religious organization in the world today that they have to keep modifying previous letters of instruction that they distributed only 6 months or a year ago ?

Jesus Christ is head of the congregations and the Governing Body isnt he ? and he cant get his act together after 103 years in the job ?

This letter of Aug 1st 2017 replaces the Nov.1st 2016 letter and this new letter is 11 pages long.? WTF ?

Within 9 months they have to revise their previous letter with 11 pages ?

I think Jehovah should sack Jesus he is obviously incompentent .

Maybe satan the god of this system of things would do a better job ,at least he has 6000 years of experience and we are still here ,and quite frankly the world in general is a much better place than it was centuries ago.

Why did Jesus not use God’s name Jehovah?

no one doubts jesus extensively spoke about god’s kingdom because he said: “i must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of god to the other towns also, because that is why i was sent.” (luke 4:43) yet christian sects are divided over the subject whether jesus used god’s name or not.. it is said that god’s name jehovah was revealed to moses.

however jesus knew moses was not trustworthy.

(mathew 19:8) moses born and brought up in egypt could have been influenced by egyptian knowledge.

Not meaning to be picky venus but maybe you should have titled your post using Yahweh instead of Jehovah,as JHVH and Jehovah was a 13th Century interpretation of the Tetragrammaton using vowels from Adonai.

I believe Ancient hebrew never had a J sounding letter in their alphabet

Thats why some bible translations have names like Yesus ,Yermiah ,Yosiah ,etc.etc.

However you are right their is no record of Jesus Christ ever using the tetragrammaton or its greek equivalent and should I go out on a limb here and say the Aramaic equivalent of the hebrew tetragrammaton .

Jesus never addressed GOD with a personal name and their are instances where he certainly could have but never did.

I found your Egyptian connection with Moses "interesting" as regards Gods name .
