one final thing before i go on vacation:.

a while back a few of us discussed setting up a fund for ray franz, which i think is an excellent idea.

he has done so much for so many people and deserves financial help.

Hi Folks,

I think that y'all are missing something very important here. All the money in the world will not come close to compensating Ray for the good he has done with his two books and numerous appearances in behalf of Christian Freedom.

: Persons supposedly in the know have stated on this DB that RayF and Contemporary Press are one in the same.

For all you dumb dub lurkers out there, I want you to re-read the sentence above this again. Ray Franz AND Commentary Press ARE one and the same. It's a rather large Corporation actually, and Ray is having a hard time cashing and spending all the checks that he gets from his book sales. The reason this is so, is that Commentary Press' World Headquarters(tm) is located in Rays' garage! You heard me right. Whenever an order comes in to the Commentary Press Conglomorate, Ray himself will fulfill it. He does this by 1) Walking into his garage and picking the book that is ordered, 2) taking a box to put it in, 3) affixing the proper postage or calling the UPS person, and 4) going back to his coffee or whatever pleasure a man who is EIGHTY years old and who served FORTY Plus years for a religious LYING Corporation does with NO pension DOES, and hoping another order might come in that day. Yet, even today he NEVER complains.

I love Ray Franz. He has done more to expose Watchtower lies than all of we puny ants combined. He is Da Man.

I ordered a book from him about a year ago, and enclosed a letter saying how much I appreciated his work. I also explicitly stated that I knew he was busy and did NOT want him to reply to my letter. His reply came three days BEFORE the book did! First class mail. It was very loving and very poignant. I still read it for comfort when I'm depressed. I posted much of that letter on the old H20. I still get tears in my eyes about how much compassion and heart that great man has.

she's diabetics and any emotional let down can cause her serious problems.

Unfortunately, you let them play their game. They always win when people let them play their game. I sincerely suggest that you take anywhere from 6 months to a year and a half and take care of yourself. I sincerely suggest that this is not the time in your life to fight back, but to just relax and heal. Meditate a lot, too.

What is Gods name anyway?

i was raised a jehovah's witness all my life, though i don''t go any more, not till i fall on my head and not afraid to ask questions does this particular question come up.. what is gods name?.

people act as though everyone in the world speaks english, what about the third of the worlds population in china could it be that is his real name at this late date?

why do we assume that it has to be "jehovah" when it could just as easily be how they call it in china, or india, or arabia, or south america anywhere that there is a large population?.

You are presupposing that that is important. If you prayed to "The Creator" would you think that He wasn't listening because you weren't sure how to spell or pronounce His Name? How many "The Creators" are there, anyway?

Would "The Creator" not hear your prayer because you didn't understand how to pronounce His Name?

If not, why not? Dub explanations don't count. They stake their whole religion on the name "Jehovah" while at the same time admitting that it is the "common" name for "The Creator," yet not necessarily the correct one.

They are stupid and clueless. Don't you fall into the same trap. His name might well be "George," but you will reach the right source if you pray to "My" or "The" Creator. If you are monotheist, you'll reach the right person. If he doesn't listen, then what can you do?

Remember that Jesus in his model prayer prayed to Our Father who is in Heaven. He set the example. There was no "Jehovah" in His prayer. If Jesus can reach the Creator with those words, then why can't you? Or anyone else, for that matter.

I've never seen you do this. Why? Because you are a COWARD. All you can do it nit-pik on the hard work of others. You have NOTHING important to say, and most people here know it.

Where's YOUR essay, asshole? I'd just love to pick it apart.

Sure, Proplog2. But first I will ask you to explain the "Good Samaritan" story and explain to all of we dummies how that fits in your argument. Is Jesus being contradictory, or is his message of helping out those in need so obvious that people like you just don't want to get it? Why in the heck are the "Holy Ones" more deserving of charity than those not deemed as "Holy Ones?" And isn't it also possible that people could become "Holy Ones" because some Christian showed them some charity and kindness when they weren't "Holy Ones"? Or do you just expect that all "Holy Ones" just become "Holy Ones" without having some epiphany? This could also include charity? People become very moved when others help them in their time of need. They often transform their lives because of such deeds. Do you deny this? Do you deny the simple assertion that Jesus was saying something so simple as "if you help out the unbelieving destitute folks, you will be blessed and maybe some of them will come to believe in Me?" Or is that notion just to simple for you?

Perhaps you are suggesting that destitute people can never become "Holy Ones(tm)" because they were too busy with the day-to-day minor issues of starving or freezing to death. Pity them.

Well, they didn't deserve to become "Holy Ones," anyway. They didn't have the time, with their attention focused on starving to death and all.

Did Ray Franz write COC out of anger?

i asked my gf who is a jw but not an active one if she has ever read coc and she tells me she has and that his book was mostly lies about the organization and that's the reason he left was because he was tempted by a hooker and ended up sleeping with her.

he told the elders what he did because he was looking for help and he ended up getting df.

later he found out he ended up contract hiv.

She already has. Would you trust someone who claims something is full of lies, yet they haven't even checked any of it out. If there was even ONE lie in Ray's book, I would know about it. Like Amazing and many others, I've read it at least five times and portions of it many more than that. He provides actual photographs of JW documents which are solid as a rock.

The WTS has not stepped forward even ONCE to try to refute a single WORD he said. They can't. Furthermore, WT underlings have been saying he is a liar for years, and people like myself have been challenging them to produce evidence of even ONE lie. They haven't. They can't.

Validity of 607 BCE date

has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.

i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.

if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

As I understand it, the Insight book made some of those statements you cited as a DIRECT result of the evidence produced in Carl Jonsson's book, which evidence contradicted the society's viewpoint.

It's been a while since I've read that stuff, so I could be wrong here. I also remember the society's last ditch effor to counter act that fact that there are literally tens of thousands of common every-day business documents that point to 587/586 B.C. or at least AWAY from 607 B.C. The society's argument? Basically, it amounts to this, "well, just because tens of thousands of documents haven been found that demolish our position does not mean that someday, somehow, some way there won't be found any documents that help our position."

Pretty lame, eh?

What should we name the baby?

i am due in the middle of october and my husband and i cannot come up with a name.

i almost had him sold on venus, until he asked people at work what they thought and he got wierd looks.

i wanted to name the last baby sidney, but let him name her because he has never gotten a chance to name a kid before.

My oldest daughter's middle name is "Shamayne." I'm particularly fond of that one.

My former wife's name is "Annemarie." God, how I miss that name!

It beats the hell out of "Moon Unit" or "Grizelda!"
