  I have shingles I think.

  for those of you who don't know what it is.it's a form of the chicken pox virus.after you get chicken pox as a kid the virus goes dormant in your nerve endings.most people never have any problem again with this virus.some people like me get the shingles.the symptoms include pain in your nerves.a rash that looks like tiny blisters.aches and flu like symptoms.and many others.i am contagious to people who have never had the chicken pox before.especially small children and pregnant women.you can't get the shingles from me but you can get chicken pox from me.. i have this stabbing pain in my back which i thought was a pinched nerve.i also have a thing on my back in the spot where i thought i had the pinched nerve that i thought was a spider bite.the pain is radiating around my side to my right breast.my right breast has been burning for 3 days now,about the same amount of time as i've had this spider bite looking thing on my back.i chalked that up to time of the month.this "spider bite " looking thing is on my right side.i'm having aches and pains like i have the flu.i don't feel good.. i asked my boss's mom to look at this bite thing and see if that was what it was because i've never had a spider bite before but i know they can get infected really bad sometimes.i didn't put 3 and 3 together with the nerve pain and the burning breast and the spider bite thing.the other girl i work with was there and she said it looked to her like shingles.i freaked out because i've had them before but not since i was a kid i was 10 or 11.my boss has 3 little girls i thought might be able to get chicken pox from me through contact with him.

  so i called a nurse answer line at the county hospital to see if that could happen.i told the nurse what was happening and what had been suggested to me might be shingles.she told me i needed to get my butt to the doctors in the next 24 hours for anti viral meds.that's the only way to clear this up quickly.otherwise i'll have this for months possibly.the nurse then proceeded to make an appointment for me tomorrow at the next available clinic in there system.she also made an appointment for me to get rated on a sliding scale to pay for this treatment.. stress brings them on so does weakened immune system from illness.i have both right now.i'm sick and i'm overly stressed at the moment.sigh..

  sad start to our new years.....

  then if that wasn't bad enough, on new years eve, after going to the doctor as i was sick, i got home and pulled into our lane and got out to get our mail.

  as i was getting back into my car, a minivan passed by and i heard a huge "thud".

  i looked to see what happened and didn't see anything and the minivan kept going.

  I am so sorry. Losing a pet is heartbreaking. And I can't imagine the pain the parents of your daughter's schoolmates must be going thru. Horrible.

  my bf and i have been together for about 2 years.

  he has this ex gf from college who he stayed friends with.

  i am not the jealous type so i never cared even though he had a problem with me being friendly with my exes.

  I'm a Pioneer Married To a Wonderful Brother Reaching Out to be an MS...

  and petrified... i just recently became a pioneer and always had nagging questions in the back of my mind.

  so, i decided that when i have get a study i would research all the questions as i go along so as to prove everything in the truth... i got 4 studies in about 2 months.

  all was fine, until i reached i think chapter 6 in the bible teach book about the resurrection.

  Your comment about your grandmother really made me think. This is one of the things that started me on a different path. My younger brother was killed in a car crash almost two years ago. When I received the news, the first thing that went through my mind was "Thank you Jehovah!". You see, my brother was disfellowshipped at the time of his death. I worried about him not surviving armageddon. I figured his only hope was dying before then. Then after I had that thought, I felt repulsed. What kind of insane reasoning is that!? But I kept hearing the same thing from my JW family..."You know he would had been killed at armageddon". What a horrible, unnatural thought! It did not seem right to me. It was so unloving and strange. Then I met several people who were so loving, so caring, and I was told not to associate with them. I could not believe that a loving God would destroy them. The straw that broke the camels back was being told to stay away from the father of my unborn child. So I was supposed to deny his natural right as a father because he was not a witness? That did it for me; I left and never looked back.

  I think its great you have such a supportive husband. Your path may be easier. Listen to the other posters, take things in slowly. And remember you always have a listening ear here.

  Had tooth pulled-tremendous pain

  yesterday i had an abscessed wisdom tooth pulled.

  the pain now is much more severe then before it was pulled.

  the worst pain is where the dentist gave me the local injections-it hurts so bad!

  I had a VERY GOOD dentist do my root canal. I experienced nearly instant relief from the pain. A good dentist will not only extract the tooth but remove the nerve as well. I fear if the pain is worse that the original nerve is still there, unprotected, throbbing. If it keeps getting worse, you'll go to another dentist to have it checked out, won't you?

  I'm going to try to get in to a normal dentist on Monday. I've had dental work done before, and never went through this kind of pain after. This guy did a piss poor job. Sometimes I hate the holidays, why must places close for a week for a holiday that is 1 day?

  i know they dont treat teeth but proper medical advice prolly better than takin chances. might give you some antibiotics if its infected.

  Already been to a walk in. I actually started antibiotics a couple days before I got it pulled. I'm pretty sure the pain is due to a less then gentle dentist.

I'm a bit worried about the quality of the work the dentist did. It was the only place open this week, so I had little choice on where to go. He really freaked me out when he scolded the nurse for throwing out gloves he had already used-said he likes to reuse them! I'm so glad she did!

  Anyway, any tips on surviving the pain afterwards? Besides vicodin-already have that, and it doesn't work that great....

  My dad found my Jane's Addiction tape and threw it out. His reaction was so over the top, it reminded me of the dad from the Twisted Sister video. Hilarious! I just bought another one.

  I used to listen to INXS's Devil Inside really low. Didn't want my parents to hear it. They threw a fit over my....Nelson poster! Nelson! Good God people!

  I remember hearing a talk at the assembly which called heavy metal band members "guttersnipes". My sis and I laughed abouth that for years.

  I always hated the way they used the word "debase". "Music that debases". Ugh. Makes me wanna crank the Pixies song Debaser..."Wanna grow up to be... a DEBASER!
