Welcome to you both! I wish I had found this place during my fade. I did find it just in time, I think I saved the better part of me. Look forward to hearing from you.

If I knew then what I know now...
I would have tossed my good saddle in the back of the truck and headed to North Dakota or Wyoming to cowboy in '82. Back them $60bucks a week, room and eats would have been a good deal.

60 bucks a week, whoa, and all that horse poop too! I think these posts are all very revealing, especially this one.

~ Your feelings on aging ~
by FlyingHighNow inso, we aren't going to stay young and never die.
how do you feel about aging, especially those of you that are over 35?
aging poses some concerns for me, especially since i am 49 and pretty much single.

Pretty is for younger women, pleasant is for older.
That is my motto. I am worn out on the good looking thing. Not that I don't care what I look like, just not that important anymore. Also, I want to be able to age in comfort with who I am, not what I look like.

2008, & we are still here? No wonder JW's are depressed/tired!
by WingCommander ingreetings all...... i've been reading intently nearly every day on here.
it's like some sick addiction.
anyway, i'm constantly amazed when others on here relate stories of their relatives or ones in their congregations that are tired, depressed, sick, disgruntled, etc.

Wing Commander: In my JW family (the ones in) just stick that smile on their face and act and talk like everything is fine. Like they are hypnotized. It is more like dealing with robots than with flesh and blood. I know it isn't well with them, they just think that fake mindset will get them through. Kind of like it is their burden to prove to me (and themselves maybe) that because they are going to meetings, have so many theocratic activities...they HAVE to be doing good. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

“Expectation postponed is making the heart sick, but the thing that is desired is the tree of life.”
I know that scripture well, just trying to remember the others is hard.
