The Daily Show.....I don't get to see it every night, but tonight was worth it.
Festival of Wrights.....funny stuff! After being hit from every angle about this man, in five minutes Wright is put in perspecive. Love it! Just had to share with someone.

When people are really interested in each other....they listen.....men and women imo.................oompa
Bingo....two smart comments in one night....you are on a roll. What makes us interested? A different question I suppose.

I don't think it divides evenly like that. I think there are plenty of women who are like the stereotypical male and plenty of men who are like the stereotypical woman
I agree with this. I have just been trapped in the JW world of not being allowed to have male friends. I am finding that they are not only good listeners, but offer a different perspective than women do. Not all women are good listeners. I think good listeners are not all that commen. Men or women.

New Here
by LearningMore ini have been lurking here for a couple of months.
i was born and raised as a witness, and am a little weirded out to even be posting on here (you know the paranoia).
anyway, i faded about 10 years ago, and after reading so many posts, i am so happy that it was a pretty uneventful experience.

It really does "take one to know one."
You got that right. We are a bunch who know about it.
If you are still feeling uneasy about being in a place like this....just hang out for a bit, it is probably what you need.
Welcome

Men are trained from infancy to be oblivious to emotion and feeling.
I understand that this is a broad social statement. Empathy would not be nurtured? Empathy would be key to listening, right?
Are women so different that men just shut down and go for the base instincts? Pretend to listen to get their food, sex and drink? (I'm pretty sure anger doens't fit into that picture.)

I just remember taking the test three times to try to come up with something different. I am what I am I suppose. Better learn to deal with it.

Would you mind giving me more info please? I think that statement goes both ways. There are things that men just aren't interested in, or things that will set them off....I know my end, could you elaborate on the male perspective? Most people are concrete thinkers as opposed to intuitive thinkers. Also, most men are "thinkers" as opposed to "feelers".
In my observations, that is an overly used stereotype. Men feel just as much as women. What we're allowed to express, however, is different -

And by the results of that test, pretty well screwed.
I felt the same way! What are you?
