Cut back on work hours? With rents going up even faster than the stock market, this is a sure recipe for eviction. And what will they do once they are evicted and out on the streets? And then there are the electronic devices they are supposed to use (which, prior to about 2013, were just about banned), expenses with suits and gas money, hotel rooms for Grand Boasting Sessions out of town, donations to the washtowel, and similar expenses to factor in. They aren't getting any cheaper, either.

Advice to reduce hours earn less and spend more time on the ministry
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inthe advice to reduce work and earn less to spend more time preaching has not aged well.. the cost of living crisis means many have more going out on necessities than they have coming in.. so many asked their employer to reduce their hours and refused promotion only to see their colleagues go up the ladder when they stayed lowly position with rubbish jobs thinking the end will be here soon.
next week midweek meeting is all about preparing for an economic crisis.. they say have a go bag and new advice for all jws to store food and water at home and grow a vegetable garden, i kid you not.
this is the new direction..

New Convention Song “ It Will Not Be Late”
by BluesBrother inthis made me chuckle.
a new song that they are encouraged to practice for the convention.. “ we know your day will come, sure as the rising sun.
no matter how long it takes , it will not be late” …………... it is based on habakkuk 2 , we discussed this in depth around 1973/1974.

Only 50 years late? The late bell rang in 1874--and I would say they are somewhat more than a paltry 50 years late already. Perfect advice for joke-hova to stall and stall some more.

And I suppose they have to be fully vaccinated against the wimpiest "disease" on the planet, and stay boosted every 6 months to the day to qualify. (Not to worry, soon that will be required to avoid getting disfellowshipped.) I, for one, will not be getting my cancer shots--the Amazon "shot" works just fine for me.

They are not doing their U-turn on the coronavirus shot. They know it is dangerous, yet they expect people to trust in joke-hova for that shot to not seriously harm them. If it does, they are supposed to serve that abomination, even giving their lives for that thing, so it can get even more praise. If anything, I am waiting to see directive soon that the whole congregation has to get the cancer shot, and you can get disfellowshipped for not staying up to date with your shots at 6-month intervals.

Nisan 14 or not?
by LostintheFog1999 inif jesus memorial meal is meant to follow on from the jewish passover celebration, would someone explain to me why the jehovah's witness community are holding their "lord's evening meal" on tuesday 4th april; when the jewish community are not holding their 2023 passover until the 5th april 2023?
doesn't this mean that the jehovahs have got their date wrong?.

They use a different formula to calculate Nisan 14, which may or may not coincide with the official calendar. To me, "Nisan" is not even a month--officially, we have January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December (in the English language). Nisan is not even among those. And those months we do have last 30 or 31 days each (except February, which is either 28 or 29), not all months having 28 days.
Next, I suppose they are going to try putting everything in the hebrew language. Using hebrew letters, to boot. Anyone else try putting appointments in hebrew, or using Nisan as a month? It doesn't work so well. And besides, are they claiming to be Christian? Then why are they pretending to be Israelites? (Ancient Israelites, to boot. Even if they are in Israel, they are not going to find the Nisan calendar in use, and they are not going to get far just speaking hebrew.)

Or better yet, don't listen to that smut at all. The real problem in this case is that anyone listening to Kingdumb maladies or anything else from the washtowel, or trying to use washtowel littera-trash as guidance, will ruin your soul.

How many still getting boosters?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ineither you think the governing body was correct giving direction to be fully vaccinated and do you will keep getting the boosters, or.... if you don’t think the boosters are safe and you decide not to keep getting them then you are admitting that the direction was wrong.. if the direction was indeed harming brothers and sister who kept going to get these injections because of the covid updates then this is a huge wake up call?.
how could this direction from the gb who are i doubt jehovah give such harmful direction?.

I will not put more money in Pfizer's pockets, and that includes using Advil brand of ibuprofen (instead, I will use generic if necessary) or any other Pfizer drug (again, I will insist on using generic alternatives if it comes to that). And that includes Lipitor--which is Pfizer's cholesterol drug.
As for me, the Amazon "shot" is the only one I intend to get. I would rather support the small companies making quercetin and selling it through Amazon than support that child-murdering giant Pfizer. True, mandates are likely to come through other means (work, property managers that want fully vaccinated and boosted tenants only, travel mandates, and so on). But I am not getting anything other than this quercetin at the request or requirement of the washtowel. They say "No shots, no mission"--I say "Good, does this mean I don't have to waste what's left of my life in a country where I do not belong, too?"

Watchtower cashing in on the Hamburg tragedy?
by Listener inthank you very much atlantis for all your hard work and for emailing a letter written by the watchtower (coming from the german branch possibly) to be read out to congregations by elders.. there is so much wrong in this letter.
maybe some of it is due to being lost in translation but since the watchtower is predominantly english, it doesn't seem likely.
the letter is as follows -.

And this is another example of why violence does not work to ruin religions. They simply pray to that beady-eyed monster of a god of theirs for strength. And I am sure that abomination harvests the energy, both from the victims and those who pray for them.
Did this disrupt the religion? No. True, it disrupted a few boasting sessions. But they are simply going to hold them elsewhere, with no loss. This happens every time a "place of worship" is ruined, whether by a shooting, a fire, a natural disaster, or whatever. It simply pulls the congregation together (along with nearby congregations) to rally for those affected, which is the exact opposite of what you want if you are trying to ruin the religion.
This is no different in the scope of damaging the congregation than an incident I remember as a cat lick. When I was about 8, the church we went to had a major fire. Did that ruin attendance? No. Instead, they simply found an alternate venue to hold that abomination, and donations went up significantly. This is the opposite of what I would have liked, had I wished to ruin the cat lick church. It is no different with synagogues and mosques, or any other church.
The better approach would have been to expose the fallacies of the religion, or even the whole bible. No one is going to die if everyone realizes that jesus is nothing more than the archetype of the perfect slave. Rather, people would stop attending those boasting sessions (and church in general). In this scenario, donations would stop and people would simply abandon the church. That is how to ruin a church, and there is no risk to innocent lives as with a fire or shooting (nor is there a risk that donations would go up along with prayer, for joke-hova to harvest).

And joke-hova doesn't? That thing has its people going to endless boasting sessions, endless field circus, and the running around associated with it. What about the endless dry cleaning bills that result from always having to wear that suit? What about going to McDonalds for some fast, good-tasting poison every single day? And the supplies for field circus--not to mention preparing for those talks you will have to give.
And now, those endless coronavirus shots. You will have to get vaccinated against the wimpiest "disease" on the planet, soon to be made mandatory for everyone. Every 6 months. For the record, that is about how often you get your teeth cleaned at the dentist--think of this as another "dentist" trip. With far worse results--at least you don't expect serious health problems from going to the dentist.
Holidays? No, the jokehovians do not celebrate the holidays that are actually fun. Instead, they waste time preparing waste of paper distribution campaigns before their wastefest in March or April, before the Grand Boasting Session in summer, and the pious-sneer drives. They waste more money going to these events, especially if they have to travel out of town or are hounded into donating money to those a$$emblies, than what they would have had to spend worshiping the sun. Not to mention the weekly donations, money wasted on gas for field circus and on suit dry cleanings, money wasted on fast, good-tasting poison lunches every daya, money wasted on field circus supplies, and not being allowed to work jobs that make a decent income.

Stress of Going to a Summer Convention
by LostintheFog1999 inspotted this picture on a friend's page, he was highlighting the mental health issue.
however,we thought the magazine on stress was deliberately placed in the summer months because for any jw going to a convention, paying high season hotel rates for themselves or their whole family to stay near the convention centre, fighting coworkers and managers to get the time off work, travelling expenses, buying their own meals for the family, buying new shiny suits and dresses to impress (particularly if you have teenage girls who are looking for their prince), and more.... by the time they come home again and straight away back to work, their nerves will be so frazzled that their stress levels will have sky rocketed!.
as brother elder says to them, "don't worry.

And I wonder if those cancer shots will be mandatory for anyone wishing to waste their time and money going to these things. Someone is usually there to record it on YouTube, and if I wish to waste the time, I can find videos right there. And so far, no mandatory cancer shots to watch those YouTube videos. And no lost jobs, or intrusive attendants either.
