I think if someone is an apostate and puts them down all the time, they should be shunned.
Anyone that leaves and then abuses the brothers and goes against the teachings of Gods Organization is an apostate. I guess I may have been classified as one as I don't agree with everything they teach either, but I still believe that to turn completely against it and bash it up is wrong.
now that i have been out of the borg for a while, it has occurred to me that one of the biggest weapons they use to keep everyone indoctrinated is the watchtower study.. elders are told that the wt study is the primary way that the faithful and discreet slave feeds the flock of god today.
it is easily the most formulatic.. consider, the content is 100% controlled.
(i would also add, made up fiction.
I do find that some of the questions and suggetions very intimidating and childish, they really don't like anyone being in the smart. This is my main objection with the organization, and I think it is insulting asking stupid repetative questions. Sometimes the questions are longer than the damn answers.

well then just take it out on all JW's then. I was reading sunspots profile and on she admitted to being a troublesome person in the truth. her attitude would not have endeared those of her family not in the truth. I think in or out of the truth it is our attitude towards others regardless of what others say or do, that makes a difference.

The churchs never used to allow homosexuality or fornicators adulterers now they except it some even marry gays, Gods standards have never changed but the churchs has. Jehovah's Witnesses standards have remained the same on these issues. Damned if we do and damned if we dont'.
What about the many that leave because there spouce have become a JW, I have known some brothers and especially sisters that have put up with shocking abuse but stayed because they wanted to set an example, and scriptually no adultry was proven for them to go. You all talk like JW's have never done a decent thing in their lives, they are all tarnished or not worthy of a nice word.
Not many give them a far go. But I can tell you for sure that most people would rather be in a black out with a JW than almost any other group, they can trust them for honesty and morals, the majority of them that is. But no there all low lifes.
And yes I have been DA and I have been isolated and alone. I know what it is like, but it is also ourselves we have to look at cant blame everyone else all the time because of our own failings.

Well to be honest with you Sunspot, I have looked at a few other JW forums and the abuse and taunting that non JW give the JW's is enough to shake the foundations of anyones faith. This forum is far more gracious, and dare I say it, it is the born agains that are the most vicious.
I know that you will probably come back with but they are vicious, I tell you that the majority of JW are no where near as tormenting as the non witnesses, the same question can be answered over and over again and they just keep debating, or moving and creating another thread when convenient.
I have not seen a nice word said to them on one paticular forum, they accuse them of some of the most outrageous things well knowing that it isn't true just to upset them. They can't see that they do some good at all.
Can't have a decent debate unless they are harrassed and the whole of the b/s are personally abused at people.
The hatred they have is real. And no matter what the JW says they attack and have nothing nice to say to them, they judge them and then call them judgmental, some especially are just horrible.

the 144,000 are nothing more than servants. it is us that place so much importance on them, those that are truly annointed in heart don't even think of wearing crown so to speak. there are thos that are a legend in their own minds all through the org. from the so called GB to the elders, pioneers. pride has been the fall of even the perfect angel the beautiful one, to become the dark one, it is pride that is the fall of man.

Also the elders are very young compared to years ago, and many have never been in the world either, they have no knowledge of what others have been through. Another thought about the annointed some being born in the truth and becoming annointed later on (when one falls away, and they replace them?) they suppose to be judges of the ressurected and the great crowd, who can they have empathy for the many that have been through such horrible times, when they have been looked after, never had an addiction and never even experienced half of what other b/s have.
What about the ones that have died martyr death and many of the remnant haven't , what the.
And the great crowd do most of the work, what about all those in Malawi for example that were tortured and some loosing their lives because of an erroneous call by the GB, and those on the GB have never been through anything like it, nor many never died a martyr death for the faith either. an elder who was serving for more than 30 years, faithfull to the organization at all means, has lost his privelage due to the wt education policy.
the reason was that he allowed his son to study at the university.
Loca congregations tend to intrepret the guidelines from the society differently. It very well may be that this elder was removed because he sent his kid to college. Same circumstances in another congregation, and the body may not do a thing.
Very true, I have found this so....and the standards are differnent within each congregation, because that depends on who's who, and how many elders and pioneers, how many kids the elders, so on, elders kids seem to get away with more in certain congo's.

When I get a chance to check it out more, it is lengthy, read a bit of it, but find that it seems to be like all stories a mixture of some truth and some imagination...
I was taught this very same thing in Seminary; basically the Christians accept Jesus Christ as the Jewish Messiah and the Jewish people do not. Somehow that always bothered me for if there were any race or group of people who should know and recognize their Messiah it is the Jewish people
The bible gives a perfectly logical and dare i say truthful explanation as to why the jews did not except Christ as the messiah. you know why that is...they were to proud and it was them that actually murdered him, they wanted a savoir a political king because of the oppression they were under from the Romans. bible accounts give those reasons better than I and I believe it.
