I neglected to mention that Wallkill will be receiving 2 of these new presses. There is supposed to be great excitement among the Bethel family that the GB approved of these purchases.

Elders - Law Enforcers or Loving

they enforce the rules without compassion, dogma without dignity and punish with glee - it keeps the others in line.

Gary:
The way I see it, the elders are just third level sales managers in a book publishing corporation's distribution division and their primary goal is to secure and retain unpaid literature sales people who are loyal to the corporation and support the primary goal. They are mostly untrained in the facade areas they claim but they are very well trained in their real job of compliance enforcement and literature distribution.
Speaking of that, in the Sept. KM there is an insert about the new presses that will be installed at Wallkill. It will take up 590,00 square feet or 13 acres of land. It includes a new 140,000 sq. foot bldg. and renovation of the existing 450,000 sq. foot printery bldg. Total cost just at Wallkill, $50 million. These presses will be printing out an average cong's magazine order in 14 seconds.
The other branches receiving new presses are Britain, Brazil, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa. This report is supposed to bring greater joy and rejoicing to the R&F. I'm sad that 13 acres of land is being used up for an ugly, huge printing press machine. Oh, FWIW, the press is called MAN Roland Druckmaschien AG.

I'm trying to guess where all that came from. I have recently been leaning towards deism, which has led to arguments with a couple of friends of mine who don't believe in the JWs but are still Christians. I know, also, that when I eventually tell my family, it would be much harder for them to understand my leaving the Bible altogether, rather than just leaving the Witnesses.
Hey Euph, what was it that made you start leaning towards deism?

Last night I dreamed that I was commissioned by the military to fly an airplane for a mission. I remember them saying I was a good pilot and I said the big planes are easy to fly--it's those little ones that I can't handle. There was a scene where I was in the cockpit, but I never started the plane to fly it.
Hello Hamas....I'm glad to see you back. I sort of got acquainted with you reading your past posts.

Ok … I understand I guess that most of people will say that they want money!!!But then my question is what for ? Money for money doesn’t mean anything
So Instead of just saying money, please tell me what for ...Here's a couple:
Money makes the world go 'round
Money gives you power

The Intensity of WT Resistance .. and its Meaning
by metatron ini'll freely confess i was wrong.
when i first found sites like this one, i still thought that ethical reform of the watchtower was.
if you're a lurker here, you need to give up on this naive notion and stop wasting your life.. .

I had the pleasure years ago to meet Walter Belobaba (belbab here on JWD). To hear firsthand of the difficulties encountered by missionaries in foreign assignments saddened me deeply, and only confirmed my distrust of the WTBTS.
I did a quick search here, but I don't think he has relayed the story on this forum. It would be eye-opening to the "lurkers" to hear his first person story
I'd love to hear his story! Maybe my childhood friend, who was appointed a regular pioneer the minute she graduated high school (1965) made the right decision when she was eventually invited to Gilead to learn how to be a missionary. She turned it down because she did't want to leave her mom alone. She is still a regular pioneer and will probably be one till the day she dies. She never married, and her letters sound like something out of the yearbook. And I always had the feeling she was doing all of this because her mother expected it of her--and for the org.

HOW "TRUE" ARE JW HOURS ?
by josephus inas a jw i admit to "massaging" my hours nearly every month to keep up with the expected amount.. my brother never put in hir report for nearly 2 years.
i was amazed when i asked the secretary he told me "i allways put a few hours in if people forget" !!!
so my brother was a regular publisher despite not going out on service.. he was one man.

The reporting of hours was brought in by Joe Ratherflawed to "check up" on the brothers. That's the claim, not in any "opposers" writings, but in the Society's own publication! It's in the old "Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose" book. (You may remember the one. It was written as a dialogue between Lois and her friend.)
Hmm---interesting--I think I still have that book. I will have to look that up. I always thought it was the judge starting this from an attorney's POV--you know like they have billable hours when they spend time on a client's case. I figured he just transferred that idea to reporting time (billable hours) spent going from door to door.
