  when we were witnesses we were always told,oh!

  don't look at horoscopes or read anything about your sign because it's demonized !

  i joined this forum a couple of days ago and didn't want to just keep lurking, so here goes!.

  my family have been jw's since before i was born, i was baptized at 12.i have six sisters, only one who still attends meetings.

  my mom and stepdad no longer attend either.. i met and married my so in the congregation that i attended.

  after the sunday culttower study is over, everyone will be expected to preach because the end is soooooooo close!.

  It sounds reasonable to me. They don't want to have to kick out the "public" beforethe Kool-aid edition is studied, I'm sure the indctrination will be way more hard-core.

  I think they will invite people to the book study and keep it more fluff (i.e. the new "Follow the Christ" release) and less "follow the GB".

  They will save that(follow the GB) for when new ones have "made progress" enough so that they are given the "priveledge" of being "allowed" to come on Sunday.

  hey you know i'm not suicidal but i lost my fear of death about two and a half years ago .

  i kind of see it as a relief .

  i'm in good health i love my family and friends and am greatly loved in return people need and apreciate me now which has always been something i've enjoyed.

  clam brought up the subject of "sell by dates" on food.

  so maybe the wbts should date all their "spiritual" food.

  if they'd only done that with 1975...and think of all the other "food" that's out there but is spoiled and no longer edible by the flock?

  My Mom's Reaction On The Phone...Please Help Me Understand

  after i wrote my parents a 10-page letter going into detail about all of the problems with the watchtower, along with documented evidence of false prophecies/predictions, flip-flops in doctrine, as well as many good reasoning points, she put up some very strong defenses over the phone.

  at first she said that she read the letter.

  then when we got on a topic that was covered in the letter, and i could see that she didn't comprehend the point that i was making, i would ask her, "are you sure you read the letter?

  When I told my best friend about my concerns, she was convinced that I had either committed adultery or paid for my daughter to get an abortion.

  Kind of pissed me off to tell you the truth.

  No way they can see that you actually FOUND SOMeTHING WRONG with the WTBTS.

  You must be a big sinner, how else could you ever leave?

  I am the mother of a disabled child who lived until he was 22.

  He couldn't speak but this would have made him laugh - loudly.

  I see nothing wrong with the performing arts. No matter who is involved.

  If you watched it and laughed so as to make fun, that says more about you than I would want to know.

  But if you laughed because they were obviously enjoying their own performance, to me that is just a heartfelt human connection.

  Kudos to their director/teacher.
