Just "unfriended" you. By posting this here and letting everyone see and go check out your FB you may have endangered the privacy of some of us. I know that's not your intention, and I'm happy you're free, but there is more in life to consider than just you.

Reminds me of Sue Monk Kidd's journey away from traditional Christianity in "The Dance of the Dissident Daughter". They both realize they can't be "good Chistians" and yet champion women's rights, gay rights, respect for all faiths and other non-Christian causes. Good for them! :)

Interesting conversation with a pioneer today
by ldrnomo ini went into my favorite cafe this afternoon for lunch and saw a husband and wife that go to the congregation i used to go to.
the woman is a pioneer and has been for years and her husband is an elder who i've talked to a couple of times since i stopped going to meetings 3 years ago but i have not talked to her in 3 years.. when i got my lunch, i looked up and noticed them sitting by the window so i went over to them and said hello.
he said hi but when i said hello to the woman she just kinda looked at me.

By your kind and thoughtful words and actions you made everything she said about you a lie. I hope she realizes that. Kudos to you!

Medical People: Lipitor vs Zocor (Simvastatin)? Which do you recommend??
by AudeSapere ini know we have a good representation of medically-trained people on this board so i want to put out this question:.
when treating a person with high cholesterol, which do you prefer: lipitor or zocor (simvastatin)?
if a person begins treatment with lipitor, is it necessary to use it for the rest of that person's life?

I was homeschooled for three years. I know you have good intentions, but, I'm begging you, don't do this to your kids. Allow them to be "normal" and give them the tools to deal with whatever life throws at them.

I like your new honesty policy. It sucks right now, but you were torn up over this for far too long. I'll bet you already feel some sense of relief. I don't have anything "wise" to add, just, as others have said, be a good dad and a good person and life will take care of itself. All the best to you and your family.
