As far as I know (I'm still very much in the loup) the official policy is to shun. However, individuals may be starting to use their brains (and in this case hearts) and doing what they personally feel is best.

by aniron inthere seems to be now a lot of reports of jw's actually speaking to those of us who have left.
even to df'd and da'd ones.
i had a mail today from da'd jw saying he was in pc world when he saw a jw from his old congregation one who had ignored him times before.

To feel you "can"
by Mysterious inwhat a remarkable feeling on leaving the organization, and yet a bizzare one.
to have the feeling that you "can" do anything you want.
that there is time, energy and resources to devote to achieving the goals you set out for yourself.

Life lost
by Phil ini have previously posted on the subject of finding people who could help me get some testimonials from experienced jws who have been shunned by friends and family.
this was my way of getting my daughter to wake up to the realities of what is going on with the organization she is associated with.
much to my sadness, i have been notified by her husband that she died this morning of lung cancer.

Update! Drew Sagan is no longer a Jehovah's Witness
by drew sagan inas promised here is all of the info regarding what has been going on.
per the last jc with the elders i realized that all i had done was buy time.
they felt that we should be df'ed right on the spot, but because i made a plea to wait for a letter coming back from the wts they decided to hold on taking such action.

I'm almost jealous of you Drew! If it were not for my kids I'd "stir the pot" and let them DF me too.

13-yr old girl writes: example of Witnesses lying
by Dogpatch ini get emails like this all the time.
some jw gets upset at the stuff on my site, and wanting to add more weight/shock value to what they say, they either mention in passing that they are "not one of jehovah's witnesses" or are a child.
this one claims to be a 13-yr old girl!

She sounds like someone homeschooled by her semi-literate parents in the hopes of saving her from the big, bad world. When they find out she's been on the evil internet and emailing you she will be beaten within an inch of her life and dragged to the elders.

moved on
by dogon inwell i have moved, for real, i lived with my husband of 25 years only 3 miles from my mother and father.
it seems that most of the witnesses they preferred to associate with, have all been disfellowshipped or divorced, or separated.
they have not called me or tried to visit me for over 2 years.

Positive changes in your life since leaving WBTS
by Mrs Smith infor me it's the friendships i have made with people that would have been considered too wordly to be friends with while i was still a jw.
leaving behind the guilt of never been good enough or doing enough.
celebrating the birthday of my precious children making them feel like king and queen for the day.

Thank you for this thread, Mrs. Smith. I think it reminds us all how fortunate we are now that were are free, and how wonderful that freedom really is.
