  Today is my 2yr Anniversary of being OUT of JWs - honoring it with a letter! (long)

  today is my 2yr anniversary since being df'd - and my life has changed a lot!!!

  this is a letter i wrote to my parents...i did see/talk to them in feb when i had my surgery, but of course as it goes, now that i'm 'better' - they are back to shunning me.

  so this was sent to them both, so that they understood that despite all the jw bull ish, and how they are treating me now - i'm ok and happy!

  I'm so glad you've come so far in your search for yourself and for self-acceptance. If your parents are in any way sensible people they will see the sincerity and wisdom of your words and love you for them.

  I do have to say that I see some evidence of cognitive-dissonance in your letter. Do you really think the "system" is going to end? Do you still believe in a vengeful god?

  I agree with palmtree. The elders would be horrified at this letter. I'm not defending the WT, but this letter is the product of a sick and vengeful mind, even the WT is not this twisted.

  Alice, you are either trying to get our goat, or you have some very serious problems. Please, for your own sake, see a mental health professional.

  Your level of disdain and hatred for others shows up some serious personality issues. You hide behind the WT to justify your actions, but the veneer is wearing thin. The problem is YOU. Go fix yourself.

  we have been waiting for our youngest daughter to have their first child.

  due date was july 5th.

  Devestated. Our land purchase has collapsed

  two weeks of waiting for the papers to sign, of making plans, telling friends and family about our land with the old hall on it.. yesterday morning i take a call from the bank... the independant land value prior to the bank giving the money has come in.. $24000 lower than the contract price.

  so, the bank cannot offer any more than the 'real value'.

  we cannot afford to pay more than this value or we have instantly gained 24k negitive equity before we even start.. i sat on that news all day, took wife to the opening of an art exhibition she is in that night, but on the way home had to tell her the deal was dead.

  And for all of you complaining about commissions and thinking that's why the property was inflated I can assure you that you are wrong. Perhaps this particular agent was an idiot and did not know the market value of the property but that is a rare instance. Every agent knows a property cannot be mortgaged at above appraised value. It is in everyone's best interest to advise their client of the value of their property based on recent comparibles.

  Agents and owners want a quick sale. This benefits everyone. Pricing correctly is key.

  As a side note, sometimes you get a client who insists on pricing a property at a high price and nothing an agent says can sway them. An agent has two choices in this situation, walk away and not take the listing, or price it as the owner wants and watch him fall on his face.

  As a broker, I can assure you that we work for our commissions. The paperwork, legwork, legal hassles and craziness we put up with from clients makes us worth every penny we earn and then some.

  Don't despair. Either the owners will sell to you at market value or you will find something else. Trust me on this, there is always something else.

  And please, don't blow the money on a trip or anything else. Real estate is always a good investment in the long run. Hang in there. :)

  That was it? A WT quote? No exchange of news, no expressions of fondness, no questions to find out how she's feeling? Do you really think you've accomplished anything other than to insult and alienate her?

  If your purpose was not help her (however misguided) in any way, I can assure your that you failed miserably.

  If your purpose was to come accross as judgemental, cold, and deranged you hit the nail on the head.

  The god you supposedly worship would be ashamed of you.

  I'm no fan of Sarah Palin, but I would not wish Mel Gibson on her or any other woman. He is out of control; a ticking time bomb.

  I sooo loved him in "A Year of Living Dangerously"... what a shame...
