Not fom an gospel, Deuteronomy 18:20-22.
"But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death."
i have received word that we are now 'very, very close'.
at the sunday meeting, according to my trusted source, the speaker actually said that 'it is no longer years, nor months - yet weeks and days'.
so they need you back, now!

REM, comes to mind. It's the end of the world as we know it! And I feel fine.
ok, crumpets post on the lid of life thread got me thinking.
when i was a kid and got a cut on my finger my mother would always tell me to suck it.
which meant i was sucking my own blood, which meant i was eating blood, which meant i was defiling god.
That's why I can't wrap my head around not being able to store your own!??! If keep abstaining from blood was that literal, then we should all drain ourselve's right now. Anyone up for a blood letting party? LOL, yes that is some ignorant sh!t. Oh, Eclipse, that is sad. Sometimes we forget or don't realize just how much guilt that religion put's on you. A year or so after my mother died, I went to the wedding of someones kid who is the non witness son of my mom's best JW friend. After the reception and a few rum and cokes, she comes over and wispers that I need to get back to Jehovah. I fell the hell apart! My eyes just literally exploded with tears and I ran outside and down the street, just trying to get away from those feelings. It took them an half hour just to find me. My wife could not even begin to understand what was wrong with me. It took talking to the ladies son (who was raised JW but, had been out for some time) to help me get it together.

A public talk titled "The World Has Ended; Millions Now Living May Never Die" was first delivered on February 24, 1918 in Los Angeles, California. Five weeks later, on March 31, 1918 the title was changed to indicate absolute certainty: "The World Has Ended; Millions Now Living Will Never Die." The public talk continued to be delivered under that same title until 1925. The material was published as this book in 1920. This book may be of interest to students of human psychology and students of religious movements, particularly millennialist apocalyptic, "prophetic" religious movements. It is now republished in a larger, easy-to-read format for purposes of research, scholarship, teaching, news reporting, commentary or criticism. With the exception of the rear cover, every page is a photographically enlarged duplicate of the original publication. Once hard to find, this reprinting makes this historic book available at a reasonable price.

Well, it sounds like you should go and slap your Momma! Making you eat blood, tisk, tisk. I'd slap mine but she died over the whole blood thing. I think about it now and wish I just told the doctors to go ahead.
lots of churches baptize those willing right at the church why do you think the jws don't do the same?
would it be too "discouraging" in congregations where there were no new ones baptized for a long time.
maybe they are trying for a bandwagon effect?
"In a few more years, baptizmal candidates will be required to walk many miles as another show of dedication to the WTS. Only kidding, but why not?"
LOL, with a cross strapped to your back no less!

For one thing that is your blood. I have been gone for a long time, do you know how they feel about storing your own blood for surgery later?
