  I cannot imagine what anyone finds amusing about this shocking matter. It is a matter of life and death to footstep followers of Jehovah! Would you laughingly deny one his chance at life eternal on paradise earth, in an exalted company of dubs?

  Do you people here have no shame to mock and ridicule God's teaching expressed through his soul channel in this way?

  The article well illustrates how the Watchtower employs apparently reasonable language and argument to "prove" the most absurd points, does it not?

  Note that the 1964 Watchtower article on blood transfusions for pets, the evils of blood'n bone fertilizer and other nonsense is, however, the real McCoy.

  and the passage is from 1917, 4 years before your one (which is simply a partial transcription in 1921). Or, didn't You Know that the WT routinely plagiarizes itself? Russell counted on 3-5 usages of almost exactly the same text!

The early work that appeared at the quoted URL is very inferior to what I posted, which is the "Prominent Bethelited" version - New Light so New that it hasn't flashed upon the Gibbering Baboons in Crooklyn as yet.

  I omitted the part about how to kill your existing cat in case any of the brainwashed ones "in the truth" actually followed the advice from the Fruitcakes & Demented Suckers (FDS). Perhaps it went along the lines of the w64 2/15 127-8 article, which argued that in terms of responsibility, the position of a pet-owner to a pet is like that of a parent to a child. And we all know what Deut. etc. have to say about dealing with a certain type of child... The Watchtower quotes the verses often enough:
  'In case a man should happen to have a son who is stubborn and rebellious, he not listening to the voice of his father or the voice of his mother, and they have corrected him but he will not listen to them, then .. all the men of his city must stone him with stones and he must die.' (Deut. 21:18-21, NW)

  As almost all the responses so far have been floundering, I shall helpfully add that Rev. 18:1; Ezek. 43:2; John 1:9; Matt. 25:31; Titus 2:13 provide the clues as to what all the items (all of which have been discovered since 1874, a date with great Biblical significance, and before 1918) in the two genuine lists have in common.

I suspect many failed to find the "Next page" button and so never got onto the JW material.

My own guess is that of of newly baptized JWs only 1 in 20 would shoot people if the Watchtower Society ordered it, of JWs in general only 1 in 10 would, but of Elders 2 to 3 in 4 would, of Circuit Overseers 4 in 5 would, of District Overseers 90% would, of those higher up 95%. So it depends on whom you ask and who you yourself are (regular JW/Elder up) when you do the asking, thus skewering the possible results.

  You have made two errors.

  * The proportions responding positively would be lower in general. Even the hypnotised person will not generally do things utterly out of character.

  * The highest proportion of JWs obeying the Kill-Order would be found among the newly-joined, pioneers, and ministerial servants, followed by the elders and then the rank and file. As one went higher, the proportion following would LESSEN and not increase, because many of those higher up know that the whole Watchtower thing is a sham (but it suits them to play along with it).

  NO ONE ON THE GOVERNING BODY would even dream of following the directive. Especially if it came from them! It wasn't Mr bin Laden who was piloting the planes that hit the World Trade Center etc.

  I do not think you understand the nature of the hypocrisy within this satanic borganization.

  Of course, by elsewhere repeatedly claiming that the first of Christ was either not in the flesh, or in the materialized body of someone else, the Watchtower itself strikes at the whole credibility of the New Testament based on the divinity of Jesus... If the witnesses did not see the resurrected Christ in his body, they could have just been tricked by a hoaxster saying "I am Jesus returned in the body of another". They had a lot to gain by going along with this. An apostle without a gospel is an out-of-work apostle! Therefore, the Watchtower is a member of the Anti-Christ Class.

  May 2002 bring you what you want from it, stopping only where your neighbor's nose begins. I'm about done now myself.
