  A question for all ex jws AND JW's here, btw I'm new too

  so far quite dissappointed from what i've seen.

  this is very very important, first i"ll address the non/ex jw then i'll address the jw's (jw's scroll down if don't wanna see the first part).

  i see so many who have concluded that it was not 'god inspired', a lot of what is being done, and their conscience told them that many things conflicted with jesus teachings and the bible.

  I appreciate what you are saying, but I noticed something immediately about the book of Jasher you quote that contradicts the Bible. In verse 19 it speaks of Abel asking why Cain eats the flesh of his flock. I believe the first mention of the animals being given for food in the Bible was after the flood when God made the Rainbow Covenant with Noah. Since Cain and Abel were the first generation to be born after Adam and Eve falling from perfection, why would he be eating animal flesh before it was given to man to do so? I don't think the book of Jasher is anything other than an interesting apocraphyl book. Sorry to be a nit-picker, but that is why I don't feel these types of writings are very useful beyond their historical perspective of the people of that time.

  my comments in parenthesis.. "dress modestly, and maintain good hygiene.

  " (just out of curiosity, does anyone know a teen-aged girl that is not obsessed with hygiene and who's view of modesty are they referring to?).

  Hmmmm...you must be quite the scholar to have read and mastered all of those writings and deciphered all of those mysteries of the ages. I will admit I don't read Hebrew, Aramaic or Koine Greek, thus I could not directly read the Dead Sea Scrolls. I don't believe in pyramidology, so the mysteries of the Giza pyramids mean nothing to me...neither do the prognostications of Nostradamus or the ancient Mayans. I don't buy into more modern writings such as the Qu'ran or the Book of Mormon. The apocraphyl books are interesting research documents.

  I guess that makes me unable to grasp the deeper things you are saying...

  Isn't that exactly what CT Russell and JF Rutherford said?? It is also what every other cult leader says..."you can't understand these things without my special insight". Sorry, you shot your credibility with that remark. I would say that many on this board are superb Bible scholars...check out posts by Leolaia or Narkissos...you might find them enlightening...

  Review: Installed my free Windows 7 upgrade on my laptop

  first, i'll answer the question that most everyone seems to be asking: .

  q: should i upgrade to windows 7. a: if your xp or vista is working for you, don't waste your time or money upgrading.

  (if it ain't broke don't fix it) if you plan on buying a new computer, certainly try windows 7.. .

  Elsewhere...did you do an upgrade over the top of Vista or a fresh install on a formatted drive? I have heard that a straight upgrade can be problematic. Anyone else have thoughts on this? Thanks...
