Old Hippie...I am with Minimus, there is no reason to doubt the authenticity of this post. The letter is just reiterating (in an ad nauseum way) the view of DF'ed individuals echoed in the pages of the WT over and over again. The discussion of suitability of "serving" as an appointed man is not a new one when it comes to how they treat their DF'ed children or close relatives. What I wonder is, if they came to their senses and don't "practice" sin any longer, but don't want to go back to the Borg, are they any better than a practicer of sin?

How do you cope with a zealous JW wife?
by eyesthatsee ini've been out for a little while now - fading was my chosen strategy.
before then, elder for around 20 years - all the usual stuff.. why leave?
(1) reading other material and thinking for yourself - never too late (2) couldn't stomach any more judicial committees where i had to preside over handing out edicts that were going to wreck peoples' lives (3) final realisation that i'm not going to let my children die because of the false 'blood' interpretation (4) nail in the coffin, which opened my eyes to the 'rotteness at the core' of the organisation, was the deliberate mis-quoting of scientists and others, to make a lie seem like truth.. anyway, my wife (both pioneered together) is as zealous as ever - more so now.

I wish I could add something positive to what others have already commented on here already. I had a similar situation to you, and I could never make her change her attitude towards me after I mentally left the Borg. She made it very clear that I was a disloyal SOB who abandoned God and ruined her theocratic career track! She always dreamed of being a CO's wife and I ruined that for her. She made my life miserable from that point on (with moral support from the BOE) so as to "bring me to my senses" and come back to Jah. Though I don't recommend this for you, I finally divorced the Mrs. and moved on with my life (and got DF'ed in the process). She mourned the end of our marriage by re-marrying in under a year from our divorce...and she got her dream fulfilled as her new hubby was a substitute CO waiting for a permanent appointment.
I think the thing that will ultimately decide your situation is where your wife's priorities lie...if she is truly interested in keeping your marriage together, she will eventually find a compromise with you on your beliefs. Continue to show her love...it is ultimately up to her as to how this will play out. Do not go back to the Borg unless you truly want to...if you do it just to placate her, you will end up resenting her. I wish you the very best in your situation, and will hope for a positive outcome as you start your journey to personal freedom.

Did you loathe going in field service, if so why?

I hated it!...I always felt I was intruding on people's limited private time at home. If I found an interested person, it was a refreshing break, but otherwise every minute seemed like an hour. I much preferred using a topic and the Bible to "placing" magazines, but that was never encouraged in the congos I attended. The day I stopped doing FS was the day I started to feel a degree of freedom...

Preliminary report: 58 JWs died in Haiti
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.jwbrothers.org/play.php?vid=2080.
among jehovahs witnesses, congregation elders work tirelessly to make contact with all members of the congregation to ensure that they are safe or can get to a safe place.
also, the elders check to be sure that each one has lifes necessities, such as clean drinking water, food, clothing, and essential medication.

So...how much relief money has been sent to Haiti to help even the JW's there?? We already know that virtually no help has gone to the general populace. My guess is that the WTS waits for all of the "worldly" and "Babylonish" relief agencies spend their resources on the victims...including JW's.
My reading of the Bible indicates that Jesus always took care of people's physical needs before preaching to them...
Would accepting aid by a JW from World Vision, Salvation Army or Smaritan's Purse be cause for a JC??...after all, they are part of Babylon the Great! Or is it ok to be selective in what you feed on from the table of demons?...

Has anyone talked to Ray Franz about what his take of all these "generation" changes is? It would be very interesting to hear his viewpoint...

I think the majority of Christians believe Hell is eternal seperation from God and that the torment is being conscious of that seperation. The more fundamental believe in a literal burning place such as the Lake of Fire...
