from a newbie non witness , wow, what the witnesses do without firemen(and woman) if their house caught on fire , unbelievable , i think ive finally been convinced not to become one now , i mean who's to say that the local fireman doesnt attend and save a potential witness ???

what was the strangest/worst counsel you recieved from elders ?
by flipper inhaving been in the organization for 30 years, after i got out i reflected on this.
as a teenager i was told to not let my hair grow over my ears because i might stumble other young ones in the congregation.
also, in order to carry the microphones i was told i couldn't wear white socks, had to wear black or dark blue socks.

by lavendar inwas just curious.........do witnesses have to buy the stalktower and asleep magazines?
or does each kh supply them to the members for free?.
also, do they have to try to sell them to householders anymore?

by MUNKAFATS inthey way im seeing it is that jw seem to teach only honesty which i dont see as being a bad thing at all so why are some of you on here using **** this and **** that or im going to do some fornication now blah blah blah , i dont mean to be offensive at all but some of you say you are christian????
or is it that you have been repressed for to long ?

actually my friend was very easy to find via the net , she seems to have dissappeared altogether as i tried to find her once a jw had come into my life , im assuming that she went back to being "in the truth" , which is what i'd hoped for ? gosh i'd still like to find out either way really , thought she would be good to talk to , thanks for replies

by Scully ini mentioned in an earlier post that i had a visit the other day from a former friend, a jw woman, who wanted to invite me to the district convention on the weekend.
i almost got the impression from her casual dress that it was a social visit, until she whipped out the tract.
one thing that i noticed was her trying to soft pedal the jw jargon that is practically second nature to jws.. she talked about how one of her kids was "gone" for a few years, but had recently "come back to us" and that she was happy to have her child's company again.

just to add to this, when i was a teenager there was a girl in my class who was a jw , she was so nice , im nearly 40 now but about 10 years ago i saw her again , boy had she changed , i asked her what had happened , she told me she had found drugs , her 2 kiddies were running riot , no husband, that was the last time i saw her , she was tring to organise a school reunion i opted out i was so horrified with they she had become , i even prayed that she go back to what she was before

im not a jw just interested. When i talk about swearing(i can do that pretty well) etc im not having a go at anyone , its just that im dissappointed and feel let down about jw after what im reading , i dont understand as i thought they just taught you to be honest really at the end of the day . I couldnt see any thing much wrong with that , i dont understand why supposed people can go from being like that to the exact opposite , im certainly not asking for this site to be moderated at ALL . I just need answers which is why im here , quite simply i dont know what to believe , help i feel stuck between what im reading on these sites and my jw friends

vernon , what do you mean by breathing treatment , are jw against something there? when i say im stuck it means i just dont know what to believe , so much so that my ive asked my witness friend to ring me tomorrow (she said she would rather see me, i said no ) as one of you here gave me a link to a site where it has questions to ask a jw , im going to write down her answers , no doubt youll all get bombarsted with my new ?s tomorrow
