MT - apt description.
I think you may well only be able to find any real love at the very bottom of the organization.
The higher up, the colder it gets!
Never a truer word spoken
this has always been my opinion, even as a 'loyal' jw!
i thought that elders were idiots.
i have only ever known one who has ever had any real education, a solicitor and he was an arrogant twonk, the rest were a pathetic bunch of bullies who 'appeared' to be loving and kind but were infact out to find out the shit about everyone and cause as much trouble for everyone as possible.

i posted this on another board on this site i didn't like the title and couldn't change it.
i don't think anybody wanted to read it because they thought it was actualy about baseball based on the title.
you'd be hard pressed to find a day between 1976 and 1987 that didn't contain one of my showstopping hyperactive bugouts.
I HATE it when the elders give the guy who' is going to give the talk council for us that can be put in the talk, everyone knows what is happening, we always get the tongue and gossip thing, just creates suspicion, but nobody takes any notice of it because they still back bite and put others down, not just the sisters the brothers also.
One talk we had was about the difference between a humans grieving to that of an animals, the insensitive nerd, gave the true experience of a brother whos dog had pups and so he drowned them all, and the mother was very upset for only day, because she was friendly with them when they gave her food and she gulped the morsel down, so the dog does not grieve like us humans and so we are so much more loving and wonderfully made, all praise to the creator, I can tell you the kids and some adults were appalled.
I also can give a true example of complete and utter lack of caring and concern for the emotional well being of the brothers. This was around twenty yrs ago, the elder that came to give a talk on cruelty of the world and Jehovah's creation, he showed a slide show, with baby seals being bashed over the head and blood everywhere, the kids were shaking and some of the adults were just in shock at this callous insenstive example, it was so graphic, though I walked out and never saw the rest I did hear he showed other horrible stuff. I HATED IT.
i am an addict.
and that is one good reason to back off some.
but the overriding reason is that my nerves have been frayed lately by the actions of a hidden 'stalker', a jw who is hiding behind a cyber-curtain.
All the best, especially with looking after you're family concerns, which is something JW's neglect.
Cheers
clyde and i are looking for a scripture - seems like it should be in psalms.
it says something like, "i have not sat at the table of men who speak lies.
" (or falsehood).
Song 160...................Walk in Integrity
i have found that at every assembly being circuit, district or one day, they are always, always in deficit, why is this, at the last circuit assembly they said that it cost 6,000 for electicity for two days, and that to me was just embarrassing, i asked the sister next to me if what i heard was correct, and yes she said in debt for the weekend because of electricity.. another thing is the soliciting of property from older ones, i know that they do this with anyone that has property (especially older ones that have no heirs).
to leave their assets to the wts, because the governments will take it if you die.
but also what they can leave to the wts would be appreciated if they have family heirs left, i have seen this soliciting in the wt mags on occastions.. what is you're experience if any on this.. cheers.
Thanks for all you're replies, really helps me to see that my suspicions and gut feeling were correct. Another example of the hypocricy is the elder that conducts book study, he is also the the Kingdom Hall overseer, looks after the needs of the Hall. We have are just though paying for the Hall (Which was added to the back of the property and another Hall in the front, it was payed for by brothers and sisters giving them money through taking out mortages on their homes, that money we the other publishers had to pay back, they did enphasize that the society loaned interest free, however they wanted to money paid back quicker so we were told that it was around $100 per head per month for 6mths to get the debt cleared off, we have around 175 in the congro. This same elder is a pioneer, single and is forever helping the older sisters, he is always pushing the do more in the field service, yet these two sisters that he is forever giving lifts to and helping have not been out witnessing for thirty years or so, (not putting them down, just showing the double standards) they both have expensive properties, I am very suspicious of this, also he stands at the back of the hall in line with the door where in full view of the contibution boxes and watches as the folk leave, who puts in and who doesn't, honestly I have seen him do this on numerous occations, it is obvious what he is doing, he is a real society man.
this was a bad idea.
a really bad idea.
my inlaws are in town for the convention.
You hate them period...thats what I got

i mean would it be likely that near future all correspondence and letters could come thru a secure connection, presented verbally to elders by the co or do, or in secure digital format that would be able to trace all users and readers -so that it can be kept out of our hands?.
i am not a technical person in that regard - but it would seem possible that this could be done.
true - fading elders would get access - but if there is a digital trail in the system - if it finds it 's way to jwd or other places - they could soon hunt down the culprits.
all we need is the bible and God's holy spirit, follow Jesus example....have a nice day
i'm not afraid at all.
i'd like to experience a full life, and do the things i want to do before i die, but death itself just doesn't frighten me.. i was unconscious for several hours last night as i slept, and experiencing nothing feels absoluely fine.
before i was born, i went through the same thing- nothing (for several billion years or more infact).
No I'm not afraid of death but afraid of not having things in order like care for my pets, or other responsibilities taken care of before the happy event.
i had 'reached out' to be an elder for a decade before i finally understood the reasons why i was not, nor would i ever be one.. each visit of the co, my name was on the list of discussion.
i know this because i was told by both co's and local elders.
the vote was always close, sometimes i missed the cut due to 'low hours' on the part of my wife or daughter, othertimes due to some variation in the way the wts was looking at particular 'requirements'.
Actually, becoming an Elder and getting the key to the congregation files is great motivation. Access to judicial cases that aren't hermetically sealed, letters from the branch, CO conversations behind "closed doors" ! Sure, those of you that haven't been appointed can assume what goes on, but I need to have an eyewitness account. Our files are so unkept, we have records from the 70s! I love getting some Starbucks and going to the Hall to do "research"! Sometimes I take files home. Copiers, scanners, and flash cards are great ways to save "interesting" documents. I hope our next CO has a laptop with an unsecured wireless connection!
Could you come down under and start associating with own congo....ha ha..
