A picture I should have taken 25 years ago...a personal story

this picture was my graduation from high school.

i wasn't there to take that photo along with my classmates and teachers.. .

25 years have gone ever since...still after all those years, many times in my dreams i used to watch my self taking that final picture.

all I can say is that its the kind of weather you watch from the window whilst eating bacon, mushrooms and tomato.

Mind you we have been out in the snow today and hope to go out again before daylight disappears over the horizon.

we've had severe weather warnings. Today our borough council put a letter through the door to say they want to come and insulate the building. There is also talk that we are about to run out of heating fuel over this period. I'm already wearing my hat , gloves and woolly socks whilst indoors and I'm trying to picture what I'd have to put on if fuel does run out. I think I'll probably have to jump up and down on the spot to keep warm.

i finally went out on a 'ministry' work.

with a bit of help, i took all of my anti witness leaflets and put them through the doors of as many witnesses as i could in a 2hour time period.

it was the easiest and most exhilirating thing i've ever done.

I'm just an innocent bystander full of praise for a very recent exjw who has come back fighting after nearly being stamped out.

i finally went out on a 'ministry' work.

with a bit of help, i took all of my anti witness leaflets and put them through the doors of as many witnesses as i could in a 2hour time period.

it was the easiest and most exhilirating thing i've ever done.

I then went to the Kingdom Hall while the meeting was in progress and put leaflets on all the cars in the car park and on those parked on the kerbside

I always wanted to do that!

we've been having fun and games over here too but of a different nature - lol

thanks mysterious, wobble and nugget.

Wobble, Mysterious - I'm studing the Humanities and this takes in culture in its many different faces and artifacts - religion, society, politics, history, art, literature and philosophy. At the moment, this year, we are studing Classical Greek language and lit in translation. I am not naturally intelligent but am a hard worker. I tend to meander into offshoots too and these can be very rewarding.

Also trying to learn a little bookkeeping as I have always valued independence. My husband supports me.

In 2005 I was a pioneer!!!!

I'm so happy today and thought I'd review how far I've come.

But first let me say how much I appreciate the topics and discussions that you guys raise. I apologise for going too far sometimes very often.

I'm pressing on with my studies. Last year was very tough as the course was very very difficult and I did not fit in with the group. THis year we have a discussion forum, a fantastic teacher, and a group of students who are much like me. I feel like I fit in much more. Or it may just be that I have changed a lot (this is more likely the reason). I got A's for the last 2 assignments. Today I'm off to my volunteer post which I enjoy very much.

Another piece of fantastic news I received over christmas is that if I pay some extra social security stamps I will be entitled to a small state pension when I reach 65 - hurray - there has been a change in the law. I was quite worried about this especially as last year I had sunk all our savings into our mortgage.

I started challenging the extremist elements within JWs in earnest late in 2006. 3 years have gone by and I'm at last finding my feet. A tough but rewarding road.

Sherlock Holmes movie...demonic!!

i logged into facebook today and somebody mentioned they are going to see the new sherlock holmes movie later today.

two comments later comes this piece of jw epic pile of fail, "i don't recommend that movie.

went to go see it last night and it's pretty demonic.

we were planning on going to see it today until a newspaper described it as having supernatural elements.

suggesting that supernatural could mean angelic did not go down very well

I've taken a peek at the "Bauer-Danker-Arnt-Gingrich Lexicon of the Greek NT and Early Christian Literature" [BDAG for short] on Amazon and it looks marvellous. I'm going to check it out at the library too.

I have Vine's and Thayer's. I'll check out some of the others

was this the only one?

Is there also one for the NT?
