BBC Program A Secret Life of Chaos
by cantleave ini watched this the other day on bbc4.
it was a fascinating insight into how chaos therory could explain the complexity we see around us.
that chaos and order are two ends of the same specturm.. i'm not sure if you can see the iplayer outside the uk, but to watch this is an hour very well spent.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00pv1c3/the_secret_life_of_chaos/.

Mill Hill Disfellowshippings
by BorgHater ina few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.
i haven't heard anything since, does anyone know anything more about this?.

I had to make friends with my inherent "selfishness" in order to continue to live life with joy. Many philosophers have taken another look at "selfisness" and reinterpret this very strong characteristic of all life as "desire" as in a desire to make connections to form networks etc (of course this would include the often painful process of dissolving/redefining/expanding or diminshing old networks and connections). My own small knowlege of human nature, science and biology seems to verify this.

recently I heard that at Bethel they are very conscious of a "movement" to modify disfellowshipping policy. And of course according to them, bethelites that is, this will not happen.
edit: I don't think there is such a movement but I think they like to call it a movement to explain away why so many people are dissatisfied with their disfellowshipping policies

I don't have any respect for them either. Basically they are holding on to their power and position. I wouldn't like to be in their shoes when they realise this - if ever they do.
hurray for the women firebrands

Regarding the wives being left alone, I didn't want to say that earlier because it is only my opinion, but yes, I believe that is exactly the case – it added to the smokescreen. Somewhat convenient.
I think they are badly underestimating the women!!! but I so agree with you paulapollos - indeed I have heard some rumours about immorality. These sorts of rumours are also designed to make the poor wives suspicious too. Another rumour/analogy that has a lot of currency amongst branch committe members is to insinuate criminal behaviour.
Have you ever discussed anything with a branch committee member. Well there are at least 3 branch members who are master, albiet sincere, rhetoricians! (based on their public talks)
Proverbs 26:17 is a popular scripture against women
