They now have authority under the new arrangement to sell Kingdom Halls so they have a lot of "juice" left in the tank. Sad to say :-( -

So sick of the abuse...
by iwasblind ini am still serving as an elder but just hanging in there.

I just want to honor and thank you for your wonderful comments, I have not been on due to travel and other commitments.
I thank you for your well wishes.
As some have stated correctly, we won't be in for much longer, before we left for our trip I was ready to pack it in.
I love the fact that whether you guys are an athiest or believer we can still support one another. After all we are all part of the same family - the human family.

What an interesting weekend.
Went to a "worldly" conference for work. I met the most amazing people with so many different beliefs. Even so I shared and spoke about God freely and without being judged. It was so liberating and got me thinking how hard it is to actually speak about spiritual matters with JW's.
Also, I was house by a "wordly" person and their family and guess what - they are not on drugs, family falling apart, etc... Also did a tour where a preacher from another faith gave me a $40 bible as a gift.
This got me thinking how the "fallback" position for all JW's is the love amongst the brotherhood. Well I just experienced a brotherhood without the BORG.
Any lurkers here, don't let them fool you that JW's are the only good people. When you open your mind and drop the boundaries you will see that you are surrounded by really wonderful people in this world.
Praise God for leading and helping me understand true love and spirituality!

Good point Stuck
They are in a panic about something. I have heard through connected people in Oz that they announced 25% reduction in bethel workers and across the LDC.
Whatever the case, they seem to be in a panic and making rash decisions.
Bring it on I say, the more stupid decisions they make the more people will wake up.
I think though the rank and file will all be distracted with the shiny new meeting brochure - such "progress", I have already heard from people parroting off stuff and they haven't even seen that stupid model meeting on borg.tv.
It drives me insane, everyone is going on about the RC's saying "best ever". When I ask what they liked best - they can't answer.

I just got off the phone to this poor sister who I have only met twice. She is not even in my congregation (her sister is). She called in desperation because she needed to talk and had no one in her cong that did not say "just pray more" or "read your bible more". She is facing a tough time and kept wondering what she did for God to remove his spirit from her.
I gave her the Grace message, let her know that God's love is always there regardless of what she "does". Spend two hours mending the "whip" marks that this stupid organisation leaves. She called this morning to say that she is going to stay home and receive from God today and realises she does not have to earn his love.
I am in at the moment trying to spread the real message of love but it just tears my heart to see so many under the loads that the borg puts on them.
If you are lurking here - please do not believe that your relationship with Father is dependant on anything you do for this organization.
If you are an athiest here - I respectfully ask you resist turning this post into a debate.

where shall we go
by Sabin inyesterday i read something that hurt my heart.
at a talk given by a brother lyman swingle ( i apologize if i am stepping out of line by using this) he said "that if you leave the jw ( i find it difficult to refer to it as the truth now days) you may as well go jump off a bridge".
this i think is disgraceful talk to say to any body let alone an audience in which children are present.

Hey Sabin,
Thank you so much for your post. It is so handy to hear these things because we can understand our own programming and those around us.
I hear people using this reasoning all of the time. My mother who knows how I feel says it to me. I tell her that they have replaced Jesus and so people think by leaving the borg they are leaving Jesus.
The truth is Jesus said where 2 or 3 are gathered in my name I will be with them.
We just need to connect with our Lord - which they have taken from us and replaced with a rule book and themselves.
God bless you on your journey.

Modern day version.....
And the gentiles came and complained because their widows and orphans were being overlooked in the daily distribution.
So the 12 disfellowshipped them for apostasy and told them that Jehovah would fix the situation in time and that obedience was more important to him than to look after your widows.
-----------
Second point - what the hell? we are not dogmatic blah blah blah BUT if you want Jehovah's blessings you should follow what we say.
Governed by God???? Why didn't Geoff Jackson say that at the Royal Commission - that would be presumptuous wouldn't it.
Unbelievable - nice one GB - communism is alive and well here! I can imagine the minions knodding furiously.

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.

Who needs a labotomy? I am actually dumber for this experience. I think I have found the cause of Alzheimers right here - really they talk to us like we are stupid and their reasoning is crap!
Poor poor people looking at this nodding vigorously, beating their chests thinking they have the truth and no one else understands this - thinking this is actually spiritual food when it is not even spiritual junk food.

A must read for all JW's and Ex-JW's
by iwasblind inhi guys.
i am about 60% through the book exiting the jw cult: a healing handbook: for current & former jehovah's witnesses .
i bought this book because of a post about it last week so a big thank you for that.. i must say that everyone on this forum should consider giving this book a go.

Hi Brock I will do thank you.
Hi Tornintwo - you will find the book sometimes breaks you open but helps you heal. I am praying for you. It is hard breaking away. It gave me peace to know it is possible and the journey will end in success - I just need to let it take its course and have the skills to navigate the emotions. God bless you.
Zoos - do it - I have read many self help books, I love stuff on the brain, but this is helping me in many ways. I will probably read it a few times because there is so much to pull out of it and this is a long journey!
Sabin - I use a Kindle reader and have highlighted and made many notes. Right now I am journalling every day. This has been a huge thing for me - I am discovering stuff about myself that I forgot. It is like when you give your subconscious permission it starts to release stuff. Also her point of trying to use your journalling time to let the emotion run has saved me staying angry or depressed all day - I have not mastered it but I have started to be able to defer some feelings to my journalling time which has been liberating. I can't wait to read the other books she recommends.

Hi Guys
I am about 60% through the book EXiting the JW Cult: A Healing Handbook: For Current & Former Jehovah's Witnesses
I bought this book because of a post about it last week so a big thank you for that.
I must say that everyone on this forum should consider giving this book a go. As an ex-jw and a psychologist she really covers a lot of the emotions we face and discussed the many stages we all go through.
I have found it liberating and challenging but mostly it has helped me start healing.
One of my biggest moments is when she talked about how many ex-JWs struggle to know WHO they are because we have repressed who we are for so long. She explains that it will take time for us to connect with our authentic self and gives some great tips on how to do it.
That spoke to me because I was comfortable with knowing TTATT and also with my exit plans, but I still struggle with my own self and understanding what I really want to do. I also believe God calls us to do different things - not only witnessing but I was not clear on my future path. I now have peace in that.
She touches on so many things that are useful I wanted to share it with you.
