School for elders.

just wonder what they teach in school for elders?

they always have this schools don't know if it's once a years or more.

just wonder what they learn.

Last one I went to was 3 years ago.

Total procedures focussed - always review the DF'ing procedure - every time.

Very little shepherding - of course it is mentioned but if they exerted the same energy into - how can we help single mothers, or how can we help teenagers cope, etc that would be a different religion.

Every Elder turns up with their note pad and elders book and they basically go through points using the elders book. Every one I went to mentioned the Pedophilia processes as well - stressing to contact legal department first.

Of course there was the good dose of guilt and what more you can do.

As an elder who really tried to serve and tried to follow Jesus example - I used to return from those full of self doubt and the feeling that I needed to do more.

Pretty sure they have not changed much.

hey guys.

a grandfather murdered his wife, daughter and 4 grandkids.. the father says his kids are in a "new system" and says his god is "jehovah".

the grandparents lived on a farm and called it their "foreever farm".

Thanks Steve2. Yes I am not one for speculation but wanted to put it out there. They obviously are not in a great circumstance being separated. Those poor childrens faces - they looked like tortured home schooled JW kids.

I don't like hype but have seen nothing else about this - does anyone know this family or situation. The father was estranged from his kids and sounded like a complicated family life.

Really sad situation - even sadder if it is relation to the borg's stupid beliefs.

Difficult to internalize that all the connections are gone

i was in my old stomping ground a couple of months ago and happened to be walking past the home of an old family friend.

word is in the hall that i used to go to is that "i am one of them" meaning apostate.

no one from my old hall has contacted me to find out what happened.

Hey truthseeker

It was the greatest shock for me that out of "brothers" I have served with for many years and helped personally, some I considered really close friends - none contact me to even say "thinking of you".

It can hurt, I wish you all the best just let the feelings be what they are and the hurt goes. I have to remind myself that they only know conditional relationships, and that they are emotionally limited.

My goal for this year is to find some real connections and friendships.

I Give Up!

im giving up guys.

i've reached the end of my patience and now i finally refuse to waste any more time on part-time witnesses.

i've text all of my active jw family members and told them to delete my number from their phone and never contact me again.

My thoughts are with you. They will swear black and blue that they don't break up families.

What a load!

Over a difference of opinion - they are so fear based.

I hope you can move on and build a life without them.

JW Wife not listening

hey guys, looking for some advice with what to do with my jw wife that is simply ignoring my wishes/demands.

first a little back story, we have been married for 6 years and have 3 children together.

she is a jw, and i am not (nor do i have any religious beliefs).

Don't get the elders involved, they have no authority.

I would talk openly about your feelings, stay on neutral ground and make it
about you and her keep the WT corporation out of it.

Get her trust, when under attack JW's will retreat under their persecution
syndrome and you become the enemy.

Do it with love.

I know it is easier said than done but just my thoughts on that.

Missing the Memorial first time in 34 years

my wife has left to pick someone else's bible study half an hours drive north of us to bring them to the kh 20 minutes south of us, and pick up two other people on the way.. this is the first memorial in 34 years that i won't be at the kh to "celebrate".. if i want to "remember" jesus christ sacrifice and his command to keep doing so, i'm doing so on my own terms.

not controlled by a despotic, oligarchical gobo which directs most attending folks to be there but to "skip" the very thing jesus command explicitly mentions to do.

i'm also convinced that it doesn't have to be exactly on the same lunar month evening as the jewish passover, but that "whenever" it is commemorated by someone, with faith in christ, and belief in his promises it would be best to do it not for show or for the sake of appearances but sincerely out of one's feeling of "communion".. if you are a christian believer are you going to the memorial this year?

We are Christians still. We commune with the Lord whenever we like. We are cringing at the thought of people asking us if we went but will grapple with it as it comes.

It is funny when you thought for all those years you were following the scriptures but then the awful realisation that the memorial is nothing like the scriptures outline. Infact "The Memorial" as a term is not even in the bible.

what is it with this pair?

why do they have to constantly have a bitch about guys like john cedars?

a very recent video of them shows them calling him a 'village idiot' and making other disparaging claims.

Amen to that. We have left a judgemental organisation, why do we have to judge eachother.

We should all be able to express ourselves as we wish without being critical. It's Youtube for goodness sakes, if you don't like someone you don't have to watch them.
